  2. This has been a nice thread for me to read through. No autistic kids here [no kids whatsoever] but I was diagnosed as having high functioning autistim last year and my diagnosis has been a god send. Always been a bit kooky or eccentric in what I enjoy and found it overly hard in social situations growing up (still at 30, I'd say I've only 1 true friend). Large crowds still make me anxious as feck and I can be mad noise sensitive (something daft like the missus eating can wind me up chronic), but I've managed over the past 30yrs to find coping mechanisms for those situations, like lo

  9. Our first shoot tomorrow , first drive thin out the four hundred mallard. They are flying really well now because we have been flushing them off the pit for weeks now. Loads of pheasant and partridge about as well. Todays job is going to someone with a christmas tree plantation that is having them damaged by Roe. My mate has volunteered me for this job which will likely turn into a trauma. The good thing is i won't have to mess about doing a deer count and a cull plan, he just wants them all off his ground. Time to dust off the 30/06, good job i loaded a pile of ammo during the first loc

  19. My niece is certainly on the spectrum, she is 22 and amazing, one of the nicest kids you'd ever meet, overly concerned about others...she's at Exeter Uni now studying Archaeology, like a computer with dates/ history and music... Struggles in exam situations, and needs additional time to complete the task, partly because of her OCD when presenting... Amazing kid though, me and my brother were living together when she was born, he was only 18 and his girlfriend (now wife) moved in with me and him and we had a baby in the house, I used to take my mates in to see her after the pub, much

  23. Don't believe what ye see fellas I know plenty of travellers and gorgers that course and not a single one of em would take a "gun" coursing there's no need I think the farmer has exaggerated to get the police out quicker. Or they've took the gun off the farmer that thought he was billy big balls and played him at his own game I've seen plenty of em jump out of motors with shotguns and bullet rifles thinking they're clever waving em about in a lay by where we've parked in the past and disappeared field after field inland from the road.

  27. An Indian guy decides to open a takeaway in Belfast on the Shankill Road. Sure enough, not long after he opens, he gets a visit from the "boys". They start by asking him what religion he is. He replies that he is Hindu. They said, "You're in Belfast now. You've got to choose a side. Proddy or Taig?" Again he said he was neither. He was a Hindu. So they asked where in India he was from. He said,"Delhi." At that they shot him in both kneecaps. As he lay there in agony, he asked why they had shot him. The thug answered, "If you were a Prod, you'd have calle

  36. Not at all mate, what you gonna do, send them back ? Lol This is imho the hardest thing to get your head round, i was a very “black & white just get on with it” type bloke myself and with the kids until my youngest. And the thing I had to teach myself is that they can’t “just get on with it” anymore than I can teach myself to fly......they are hard wired that way. In many ways they are having to exist in a world where everyone and everything is weird to them.......like being the only sane bloke in the asylum. That is the battle they face every day when they wake up.

  40. We know a lad, incidentally called Tom, middle 20s met him several years back, he was a meeter and greeter/trolley collector at Asda. Mad keen on buses, was telling the Mrs.that he got a new job as customer service advisor at the local bus company. He went for an interview and pretty much told them their full schedule and timetable for all the bus services in our area ? Cheers, D.

  41. My girl is ok when she gets to know people but has her own group of friends and takes a while to trust people and is very awkward if even her best friends try to hug her. Most people dont even realise that she is autistic and just think shes shy unless they spend a bit of time around her and get to see her little quirks. She had a real rough time going back to school after the lockdown it was almost like starting all over again. Also she cant understand why kids can be nasty or mean as weve taught her to always be nice and treat people how you like to be treated and like I already said she takes

  42. That's some nice testing ground ?. I wished I could get an excavator on my boat?99% of my digging is done alone in the middle of nowhere on an island. On the plus side my rockdigs are usually 2m or less.but it can all generally be shifted by hand without the aid of many tools. There is very little dirt involved. You jus need a strong back and a weak mind. Honestly I avoid areas like you just posted.Tip my hat to you Mr RF I do have friends and family who are just a phone call away. They are the people who really make what I do possible and none of them keep terriers but are always wil
