1985 I left school at the age of 15 and there was plenty of gear a 15 min walk away so this dog was out 5 nights a week until I looked old enough to get in the pub and then it went down hill for a while ?.12 points

Good thread with some nice dogs and interesting stories this fp fellas, iv had a couple over the years that have shaped up pretty well, looks don’t kill though and as of yet none come close to my scruffy old bitch in the kennel, the dog on top had hell of a lot of potential and was becoming pretty decent at the edible game but didn’t want anything more than edible so was gifted to a lad up north, bitch on the bottom is still young but slowly maturing and going in the right direction ? cheers9 points

Nothing in there to cover the majority of uk gun crime though, but at least we can all sleep at night safe in the knowledge there are no unsupervised 14 year olds shooting up tins in there back gardens ffs, more smoke and mirrors bullshit to appease the thick4 points

I've been reading this post over the last few months but never commented until now. I've had a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye at some points, it's certainly been a roller coaster ride for you all. I'm sorry for your loss Jimmy, my thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time. Stay strong fella4 points

Fitness is how well adapted/suitable/successful an individual is to a physical activity. That isn't exclusively endurance. I just think it's wrong to consider a foxhound 'fitter' than a greyhound. Apples and Oranges in fitness terms.4 points

Sorry to bring this back ( and you've still had the last word dont worry ? )..... i asked you something the other day but cant for the life of me find where the subjects gone.....i dont know if you went into some kind of meltdown and it got pulled or its simply disappeared but i was interested to see your response.... for no other reason than it interests me to see the mindset of young lads these days. It was about the way you had gone all covert telling me to pm you if i wanted to know who and where to " meet up " re the BLM riots in London the other month when now you seem to have swap4 points

For several weeks i had been hiding bait on a field down the road from me. When i say "hiding" what i mean is putting bait down out of sight of corvids and buzzards. I knew there was a fox about because i saw it one night, however it also saw us and trotted off. I didn't bother trying to call it back as experience has taught me that all that would achieve is educating it to calls. I decided to bait the field and just randomly wait for it sometime later. To get to this field i have to walk or drive through another field which is a tad over six hundred yards long. At the end of which is a low th3 points

Yerr, good tools Ian. I’m using an fx impact .22, set up at the moment to run from 19ft lb up to 41ft lb at the turn of a dial, so pretty versatile really. Can be turned up to 60ft lbs if needed but I’m mostly running it on number 4 power setting at 34ft lbs using jsb 18.1 grain exact. Literally lifts them off their perch on elevated shots.3 points

Brought a tear or two to my eyes mate ..good memories live forever , time does heal a little ..condolences to you and your family .You did everything a father could do but somethings are out of our hands ..3 points

I had a pure greyhound i road walked her every day , i also ran her in the day . she muscled up well it looked really powerfull and really fit . I tailed of doing road walking and her muscle bulk decreased in fact she looked slightly underweight , i still ran her in the day and there was a big difference with her , she had more stamina and performed slightly better . Basically when she didnt look like a body building dog , and her muscle bulk was natural from running around she performed better. So just because a dog looks the part it may not be , some saluki types look painfu3 points

Words cannot say enough, but I send my condolences to you and all the family, tough times ahead, but hopefully some solace that she is now free from pain. I have spent an hour following her story, and she is an inspiration to everyone, a strong person, and a fighter to the end, you should always be proud of her, and now is the time to be strong for her.3 points
