  1. I’ve always held the train of thought that if you are truly friends with a person , you can call them out for being a prat. Personally I’d never side against a mate whatever , especially in public but This weekend has shown what I would say and dig at is to be proved . I hate this time of year as not too long ago I had the honour or misfortune of carrying a very dear friend of mine and a top top lad into a church purely on a misjudged action and what I Would term as a lack of bottle . My mate died swimming across a river pissed at night in a group of very weak swimmers. When I was

Every time you write a post it just seems so forced , it's like your trying to make people think your this well educated well written scholar who trying to write fancy words and paragraphs to make people belive your the be all and end all who is a professor of breeding the ultimate line of long dogs ( even tho it not a line from a first cross mating ) but you just come across as someone who bred a couple half decent dogs and now your trying to make them something your/they not , it's just cringe as f**k realy , and you don't need to say Carl Williams South Wales on everypost , we all no

  7. They are a Toy breed. Useless for any hunting. Biggest health problem with them is breaking their legs jumping off the sofa. If you want a "mini greyhound" get a Whippet ? Cheers.

  12. Get your pup out and about on all and every ground and obstacle you can … better it learns how to avoid things when it’s running at 3 mph rather than 30mph …….

  13. Lamping is the number one killer of dogs.. I’ve lost 3 on the lamp. Depends where you live though and what your hunting. Dykes/hares/deer and your lucky to have a dog reach old age. also, more than one dog chasing can lead to accidents, either colliding with each other, or hitting obstacles on the run, as they have one eye on the other dog, as well as what’s in front.

  16. Have you seen the news about the floods in Germany? There was an appeal by the German Red Cross on tv last night asking for donations. I phoned them up and offered an old Fox 2.75lb flood rod and half a dozen 150g cage feeders, but they ween't interested. Strange volk!

  19. Up in the Borders yesterday , red hot but thankfully a 16 mph wind which meant no midges ? Spotted a group of 5 sika around 800 yds away but unable to sex them so I stalked into them but they vanished into the tall bracken. I waited around 200 yards away on my sticks for about an hour when they eventually reappeared but sadly all Hinds ? Watched the other side of the hill til dark but once again only the girls appeared, never mind I will be back in the rut.

  20. It’s a shame you don’t live in Australia at the moment people are struggling to of load ferrets. The second problem I am seeing is I haven’t seen any young kids getting into ferreting. Maybe they have no idea as their isn’t an APP on their electronic device.

  25. I have a bolt on mine. Stick through a hole in plastic pipe, and wing nut to hold it solid. As regards legality. If its not on STAO it ain't legal I suppose. You could argue that the small ones are rat traps, but that's a risk the individual has to take. I'd rather not personally.

  32. Me and a mate went on a stay away ferreting trip years ago. I slept in the van in 2 sleeping bags with the 2 dogs in the outside one. He took a tent and some shit argos camping kit. In the night I could hear him shouting that he was freezing and wanted to drive home, I was toasty and warm and wanted to go ferreting so ignored him. Got up in the morning and everything was thick frost, he was in the tent nigh on hypothermic and blue in the face, could hardly move. It had been -6 all night which isn't that cold, compared to Alaska or somewhere, but nearly killed him. Just shows you need the right

  35. I reckon a new improved version, with thicker metal frame and a good strong spring, might be ideal If I was still trapping Mink and suchlike, I would prefer a trap a tad chunkier than the standard 110 size,..such a device will kill them, obviously,..but I just like to see a neater, cleaner dispatch. This is WHY I requested that BMI made me a sightly larger version of the 110 and we created, the 116... Basically, it was to satisfy the Ministry of Ag , Defra, etc, who could not get their silly heads around anything, other than, the Fenn Mk4 and Fenn Mk6 Their insistence on

  38. These days motors ain't made to last .. Plastic clips holding bits together that break soon as you pull them . I had a 2016 vauxhall viva for the missus , problem with timing within 30000 miles .. Exhaust bracket rusted through then fell off . Then at 3 1/2 yr old and 60000 timing chain needed replacing at a dealer quote of over a £1000. This car had a full service history wasn't driven hard it was just shite made imo

  42. I used to go to a local pond with my jam jar and collect frog spawn and put it in my garden pond, then it was pointed out to me it was illegal to relocate amphibians.! Shame, really, as the frogs settled in and breed every year, but the newts didn't. Never had any toads though. I assume this is what you're up to ? Unless you start asking for "eye of bat" and other such exotica aswell ? ? Cheers.

  45. Not even taken mine out today. Agree with Ken's D. In this weather, if heat kills em they are either so un healthy they can't breathe anyway or your taking them out needlessly when it's to warm. Hunt hounds are still out every day....back in kennels by 8am and chilling on the cool concrete in the shade or in the grass yards under the trees. None dying from heat
