Boxing day spread with the inlaws

Never seen so many rat holes in the fields. Caught another bitch rat in my garden trap today. Shot a weasel the other day too. Squeaked it in.

Couple here of my sister's sofa surfer/ truffle sniffer/ ball sniffer. 10 year old rescue dog. She's given him a cracking life to be fair. They've just had a week up in the Cairngorms. She lives on the edge of the Lake district which is their usual stomping ground. I keep telling her i'm going to introduce him to some small mammals but whenever i've been out with him he just isn't interested. Strang for a Russell... but probably for the best!!

Back at the feeding this morning and the fog was so thick a few of the birds were still on roost at 8:30, they have grouped back up around the pens and are in good numbers over the piggeries so with another 12 days before our next go at them we should still have a few good drives I was hoping to get up there tonight for a call, but the fog has been there for 2 days now and shows no sign of clearing, it’s Sod’s law I’ve got this time off and the weather is sh*t

Try ferreting small places at first and stay away from large bramble patches until you got bit of experience with working ferrets ,once you get hang of ferret finder and ferrets bolted a few then go on to bigger places, Do you have a dog ? As they can be great help and I wouldn't go without one but that's me Take your time ,look after your team and you be OK ?
