The best dog I ever had was bred by Downsouth off here from a mating he did with Chaz. If you could of bottled that dogs heart You would have been rich. Everyone hated the dog except me, he was a liability really because he was no size and would just go hammer and tongs at what ever he dropped on to. He came away a few times but I never thought badly of the dog for it, I looked at the reality and the reality was it was come away or die and eventually he did die, killed with two in the pocket and doing his normal raving lunatic act.......lad I had lent him too tried for 3 days to9 points

Tomo and Chid.... Couldn't agree more with ya. Them coursing bred greyhounds are bred for out and out pace in a straight line, one turn and there cooked ( and I've cleaned that up ?) What would be my ideal would be a nice distance bitch still running in top grade at nearly 5 yrs old. Something like this... ?9 points

Jess and this years kits, still taking it easy, but really need to start one to one training with her. She’s 21 weeks and 21tts hopefully that’s her done and is a good height for the rabbits... ??7 points

Well had another look out last night to the farm I got the 3 Cubs from the other night. Not hopeful as very still, muggy and misty. Saw 3 or 4 but no chance of a shot. Finally spotted a cub in the barley stubble at the bottom of the field, put caller on and no response so went old school and hand squeaked it in nicely to around 70 yds.7 points

Little un turned 4 during lockdown so now old enough but club onky just re-opened. First class yesterday, he absolutely loved it and was totally focussed on what the teacher was saying. Back tomorrow and Friday. I know 4 is young but he is a bit mental at times so helps burn off some steam. Plus hope he sticks with it for the discipline, respect and fitness.6 points

No need to go to Africa for seeing hypocritical "green" behavior. In Romania we are forced to fully protect bears, wolves and lynxes only because we had bad representatives when we negotiated EU membership. The management of big predators was well organized, hunting ~400-500 bears each year and still maintaining a strong population. Now everything is out of controls, human attacks are often, crop and cattle damages are high (and rarely paid!) and revenge killing is a common thing. Bunch of "conservationists" from Germany, France or Holland are lecturing us on how to coexists! It is6 points

No one wants to see badgers wiped out but they should be controlled, over population of any animal is never a good thing ( humans are a prime example of that ) I have some land that I won’t shoot foxes on because they are not there in large numbers and it would be a terrible shame to never see another fox, the badger has become an apex predator and allowing it to breed without control will only have a detrimental effect on the countryside, off the top of my head the only animal I can think of that I’d like to see wiped out is the grey tree rat5 points

One thing that you won't hear much about - home schooling is on the rise all over the country. .......... a lot of kids are doing well from not having a lefty agenda shoved down their throats. They're still socialising and learning well - it's not as difficult as most would imagine5 points

It does strike me as somewhat hypocritical that 'we' think we can tell Africa how to conserve their native fauna and ecosystems when we wiped ours out hundreds of years ago and won't give reintroduction much consideration. Most facebook 'conservationists' of the West would have some dirt poor African f***ing lynched for poisoning a herd of elephants that are threatening his livelihood but it's alright for us here to stand on the prosperous shoulders of men that did exactly the same.... It's a nuanced and complex topic but if we value nature we have to start looking at the bigger pict4 points

Fckn pissed off i got a no caller I’d phone call leaving me voicemail today saying it was the local cops coming to my house with a warrant saying I had more than 4 plants growing. I was 2hrs from my house so I called my lad to rip up the 2 smallest plants. then I get a text off a bloke to call him, so I did. He then laughs saying it was him calling me. call my lad back and yup too late he pulled 2 plants. I get home, fckn mad, then I see my fckn lad didn’t pull the 2 small plants but 2 that were 6 fckn feet tall i could cry thats what’s happening in my fckn g4 points

My guess was about 175yards but I am not 100%. Either way I rested on the sticks and aimed at the rabbit just as it lifted itself out of the grass perfectly for me. I aimed for its chest and loosed Fairweather. A little noise come back and I simply thought I had missed. The rabbit lunged forward stood up and then keeled over! A perfect heart shot. I like these Hornady 20g!3 points

True mate, I just struck lucky and me and the dog liked each other if that makes sense.....I’ll never own another dog as good or that I like as much. Edited to add: In these times of £3000 kennel club absolute articles of dogs, that little dog off Downsouth cost me £100 and I’m sure that barely covered what it cost the bloke to rear them........if a KC Spaniel is worth £3000 then that little mixed bred terrier was worth £50,000.3 points

Why a coursing greyhound? A lot of the ones I've seen are to big and bulky and quite frankly looked useless for anything other than running in a straight line3 points

My Collie x is out of a long line of genuine Collie/Greyhounds that take all game. And I know exactly what my dog can do. They do exist but people don't say in this day and age what their dogs can do especially on an open forum.3 points

Out with a mate first light purely for a meat hunt .Very murky morning but still warm .Spotted a couple of roe bedded out in the middle of a field ,unsafe from where we were and decided on a long walk around them to see if the buck would still come to a call .Bit late really for rutting to still be on but it’s worked before . Got into position under an overhanging tree and had a few peeps .Instantly a doe came running in from our left followed by a big buck .No desire to kill a monster so let them pass by no more than 40 yards with buck following her every step . The two bedded ro2 points

The genuine half cross collie greyhound I had couldn’t catch a hand full of rabbits round by me , it was fit healthy and started at the right age , just didn’t have the gears , neither did couple the other pups of the lads I spoke to , I reared a half cross bull greyhound wich to be honest three very greyhoundy , that caught plenty of rabbits a night but ended up smashing it’s feet up a lot , ive also seen a 28” half cross bull catch 20+ rabbits hare and track deer on the same land I’ve seen collie greys not get close to , but I’ve also seen saluki grey collie grey with a Touch of bull in kill2 points

Yarp, a few years ago I’d never have thought I’d shoot a rabbit beyond a 100 yards with an air rifle. This one was 112, popped its eyes out. The two before this, I over compensated and missed over the top.2 points

There's people who don't believe the Americans landed on the moon. It's been estimated 400,000 people were involved in the project. Were they all sworn to secrecy and have kept shtum for over 50 years ? Theres an incredible amount of "Flat Earthers" who believe aircraft take off, fly round in circles and land not on the other side of the world but on a flat disc ! How many pilots, air traffic controllers, etc would have to be in on the con ? Now imagine how many people would have to be in on a conspiracy that is affecting every country in the world; capatilist and communist, rich and2 points

Just an observation, not a rabbit man myself, but a lot of the men that hunt rabbits seem to try & take the maximum number possible every time out, then complain about the lack of rabbits. Makes no sense to me.2 points
