I don’t t think it’s any different to what it’s always been. I’m in my fifty’s and I was brought up in poverty. We had fukc all as kids and if my father didn’t have a veg garden and didn’t hunt fukc knows what we would have eaten half the time. We had free school meals hand me down clothes and very few presents at Christmas etc. We had no car and the only holidays we had was in my uncles caravan who used to take us to a site and leave us there lol ... but we grew up healthy and we certainly appreciate everything we have now ........17 points

Yup. ? and then there is the Facebook hide and go seek champions that think they are invisible and dragging the whole game and good name of responsible terriermen into the gutter with them. 99% of us want or “should” want nothing to do with them, give or sell dogs to them or provide service to them. Then they might get the hint then and start acting accordingly. I’m a firm believer that the dogs have more brains them some on the other end of the lead. When you think of it this way. I bet if some of the these people thought you were a grass or snitch to the police, ANTIs or Anti welfare o11 points

The original poster had only just become a member, the terrier shown had never seen a blade of grass never mind work and of course he'd given himself a "power" name ? A few lads have had to explain to the powers that be why on the pictures on the internet and their home photos their little puppy ended up heavily marked up and what documentation they had to prove said dog had been to a vet.......but don't let common sense put you off, after all, when did most terrier lads ever let their brains get in the way of their egos10 points

Im not going to give you a whole Oliver Twist poor me tale , but we were so poor we had to wank the dog off to feed the cat. Things like carpets , wallpaper and curtains were for other people. Although my mam is a treasure , I love her to bits, when I look back , if it wasn’t for her working ( and leaving me at home alone ) Id probably have been taken into care. My mam worked factory hours with long shifts , heavy work for a woman . She has arthritis as well , so it literally crippled her and she lived on tablets for years. Bless her she was a saint. True that mate, I had to give up plastering a couple of years back as the old joints are getting pretty knackered, I am quite illiterate have a very colourful police record and a multitude of ailments, I should be pretty much unemployable, I signed on for an agency, done 3 months on the bin wagons then started doing some car part refinishing for someone, I have since separated from the agency and now have a small business finishing the parts myself have cut out all the middle men and before lockdown was getting back to a comfy place in life and just about to take on my first staff, took me tw8 points

No we,re not India have overtaken us with a GDP of $2.94 trillion........they have jumped 4 places in 5 years yet we still send India foreign aid while we have children in poverty on our own streets.8 points

He is the total opposite of sandymeres leftie links and the truth probably lies somewhere in between the two, he was saying over 20 years ago that the powers that be wanted to move toward a cashless society and was laughed out of dodge but roll forward he appears to be spot on, he said the queen was a lizard but I haven’t seen her shed skin or drop a tail so suspect he may have been wide of the mark, there’s a bit of truth and a lot of shite in most story’s it’s just how you filter it,5 points

Yeah fair one mate, all I meant is that it’s easy to get into the normal old “f***ing scroungers” debate but lads ain’t thinking about it......look at the current situation, lads who have grafted and paid in and they can’t get £94 a week to keep them going !! The BIG question should be, what have the governments done with all that gargantuan amounts of money ?.......what did it pay for?.....because it obviously hasn’t been for what they told everyone it’s for4 points

I had this exact same conversation with a good pal of mine the other year. He was saying the same as you but I said to him there’s something you ain’t thinking about......some people can’t afford to work ! Take my old area, a 2 bed house is going to cost you £1200-1500 a month to rent, just rent....that’s before council tax, water rates, electric, gas blah blah blah How is a forklift driver on £400 a week before tax with a wife and a couple of kids going to afford that?......he is minus £100 a week before he makes himself a Sandwhich ! That bloke can’t afford to go to work...4 points

The elephant in the room is what do you want capitalism or socialism? Something I've been thinking of quite a lot recently with this coronavirus mess. I've seen the hardest of capitalists all of a sudden crying for socialism look at Branson he had his hand out looking for public bailouts on day one, look at the banking crash all of a sudden socialism was expected. but it's not just the big players I've seen plenty of normal folk who have been quite happy to make hay whilst the sun was shining do a quick U turn and expect to paid out the public coffers, there's a lot of hypocrisy about it all4 points

Its feckless parents who are responsible not the Government , back in the early 50s our neighbours had 16 kids and their dad was often out of work and on the dole but they got by ! they never lacked for Food or Warmth a nd never asked for anything what they did have in heaps was Pride and Dignity .4 points

I agree with you mate, my point is that in a world where the state is taking 60% of everyone’s money and MPs are putting Kit Kat’s in the expenses should it exist today ? My old council were running a 1.2 Billion debt for money they had borrowed to invest in the stock market before this virus hit.......kids are starving and local councillors are playing Gordon Gecko on the money markets?.....to me, that’s criminal mate.4 points

I personally don’t blame wealthy people, after all the poor kid living in one room with his mum should be able to feel he can go on to be a millionaire without being penalised for doing so. Self made blokes living off the fruits of their own labour I have no problem with at all. What I do have a problem with is poxy politicians relieving people of trillions and their coat tail hangers profiting while some little kid can’t afford a tin of beans. One couple had one lightbulb for the whole house and were in the point of having the kids took away (because of their financial circums4 points

The sad thing is These are the people all travelling people are judged by, I am mates with a Stokes man down the road to me and the man is the very definition of a gentleman as are all his brothers. His boys are some of the most polite young men you have ever met, all very talented soccer players who I have had the pleasure to coach and who have gone on to better standards. I have genuinely never met a man who puts so much time into his kids and his family, he is out every night of the week with them boys at sport and his wife and girls go with them. He also coaches local kids b3 points
