I decided to have a look about last night for a fox so rang my mate to see if he was coming. The answer was yes as it always is. Tonight i would have to use my back up rig as my normal kit has developed a problem, it will take a bit of reme dial work by a man who specialises in them. So tonight i am using another Tikka T3 supervarmint in .204 and a Gen 2 Tubed scope with a Dragonfly laser illuminator. We went to one of my favourite spots first which is on a keepered estate. After first unlocking a five barred gate we drove down a track at the side of a river for about five hundred yards8 points

Took my daughter out for 1st time today. She's been asking for ages, so with few days off we went out for a walk. Apart from falling face first & getting covered in shite, she loved it. Only managed couple crows but you'd think we'd had a 100 bird day at sandringham according to her! Definitely bitten by the bug, very happy daddy!7 points

I disagree, if a terrier is in the ground for a long period and has taken a bit well infection has more than likely entered the bloodstream so all the cleaning in the world won't kill it,it will clean up the bite but won't kill the infection. I have personally made that very mistake on a couple of occasions thinking well it's not too bad, good cleaning and aftercare and the dog be grand only to find next morning dog with a head on it like a football. I'm not saying always jab but if indoubt do it or use a tablet form.5 points

9 times out of 10 if a dogs is cleaned properly and given the correct aftercare there is no need to be giving any type of antibiotic.Seen too many lads reaching for the needle and probably doing more harm than good after a dogs put a hard shift in.5 points

Couple from just before Christmas from were it all began on Bodmin moor, so either the beast of Bodmin is now getting to around 50 years old or we have to accept it has bred successfully and the offspring are doing ok and naturalising, both these would probably just be accepted as cat kills if they were found in India or the USA just from the one bite strangle marks on the first victim and the fact the stomach content of the second one has been moved to one side to allow the other organs that are rich in what a cat needs to be consumed, the first sheep was not consumed as I believe the anima5 points

To be honest I think it's fair enough. If your whole life revolves living a certain way then no you can't just sack someone for it. I'm more than happy to have their rights protected. Equally, we as fieldsports enthusiasts need to learn to fight for our rights. Most of us live a way of life that means everything to us, that way of life should protected. Those who live in accommodation that is tied to fieldsports or farming should not have to worry about the whims of polititions and extremists...or be used as attention grabbing headlines with fake news in the media. Unfortunately un5 points

Day 6 over with and we couldn’t of asked for a better day, we had a full team of beaters and two full teams of guns, the morning definitely shot better than the afternoon but this might have something to do with doing the main drives early, mainly to show the guests what sort of birds we can produce on our little shoot, we had one lad shooting with us today who is a keeper on one of the biggest estates around here and helped us out loads at the beginning when the birds weren’t doing to well, it was lovely to be thanked off him and told that the birds over him on the first drive were stunning a4 points

Someone has to have a likeable way about them for me to find them funny i cant stand cheap vulgar crap like that Chubby Brown used to put out theres only so many times you can find f**k,shit and c**t funny....in todays times that Kevin Bridges is good but i love the observational humour of Micky Flanagan or Billy Connolly....from years back i used to like people like Dave Allen or Jasper Carrot but for pure joke telling Mike Reid and Jimmy Jones took some beating from these parts.4 points

Alan and Heidi Charles in Westmeath breed a litter now and again, though they mainly breed pure deerhounds. Bear in mind that if you get a deer/grey it may not be as "drivey" as other lurchers. I like mine but she won't take fox. Doesn't seem to see them as an enemy. She takes most edible. She isn't as good as my collie/grey on rabbits but she can catch a few. Just to add, her feet are very good for such a big heavy bitch. In the months leading up to the season I give her lots of roadwork with the bike and she runs a fair bit on v. rough rocky ground and forest and only once had a4 points

I used to be dismissive about food. In my younger days I used to reckon it was only fuel for the body. But there's a saying that if a man still believes what he thought 20 years ago he's wasted 20 years. I go along with that.3 points

heads up fella going into the frozen swamp/bush in the late morning looking for pigs. its not really the weather as its going to be -3c and the buggers will be moving around, normally its minus death and the pigs tend to huddle together for warmth. thankfully a farmer has ploughed out a track(he was collecting bales off the field) so we can get close enough with the truck. was thinking of taking the ecaller and throwing out a pig call or whatever i have on it as a trial to see if we can call any in,tried this once it didnt work. the piece of swamp/bush is3 points

My god and to think hunting with terriers is getting such a bad rap these days. If he was to employ pest control to achieve them results through bait boxes he would have been out a clean fortune and no company could achieve those results in a few hours.3 points

The only downfall with penicillin is too readily available therefore used too much by those who should know better .No antibiotic should be used as a prevention to an infection ,only treatment for first signs .Jabbing a dog every time it sees something vastly reduces its effectiveness when needed .3 points
