Last day today up on the hills ,done some good spots ,lifted 1 out of massive wood ,little dogs done well .fox was cleanly shot ,Brian bolted ,dog n a vixen out of a big earth, both accounted for ,tried 3 more earths ,nothing home .Last spot of day was a biggish rock spot ,fox was just not for leaving it ,just nipping about inside .Was a great day to finish our season .and now the farmers are ready to lamb big time ,

Sadly few men (Legends) live up to the expectations we have placed upon them. It can be a disappointment when you finally do meet them. I have to say Tommy O’Reilly was a great character that started off what a lot of white dog men in our area have today. What you saw is what you got from Tommy. Straight and to the point, but a gentleman all the same. Always pleasurable to be in his company. I had the honour to shoulder his coffin when he was laid to rest. Tommy’s son, myself and my digging partner slipped back to the jeep for a spade and back filled. Tommy would have liked that. RIP.

I managed to sneak out the other night for a wander on one my rabbit perms and there were quite a few about...... but........they were all coming out of the far hedge where you cant get to them without being seen as its one big field with just a slight dog leg in so i decided to just walk straight up to the dogleg, knowing they would all bolt, and they did, then got settled in tight into the hegeline at the bend in the hedge and waited. 15 mins and the first appeared at 43 yards. 1/2 a mildot at 6x mag and over he went. 10 mins later another came out of the same hole, went and sniffed his pal

Two rabbits I shot last night went up to the butchers ,which has been taken over , so I thought I would interduce my self and say I used to supply rabbits to the previous owners . Out of the blue he turned around and said " I have two acre field with loads of rabbits on if you would like to shoot on that ,only if its not to small for you " automatically my mouth opened and said I only shoot air rifles sub 12 and FAC , great was the reply Result going on Wednesday night weather permitting

My friend took this picture in June during the roebuck season. We have two main hunting districts which consist of nearly 20,000 ha. Actually, the bigger one contains mainly meadows and fields where, as you can guess, we hunt on roebucks - annually we shot close 80-90 bucks.

Right lads, it's all on at the fishery if we are all happy to stay the same Venue. I saw Dave today, he is looking forward to having us all again, I've told him to pencil in 17th/18th weekend.... He said there are a few statics left that could sleep up to 6 if the lads that mentioned last year are interested...best to ring him direct on the fishery link on this thread...
