I think Ziggy has summed it all up, in rocks i find you need a dog thats not going to waffled about and needs to make sure the fox thinks it's safer to bolt than stay in the pile , working cracks and natural sink hole where water flows, never enter a dog with water running in as it may not be able to grip and end up going very deep and unable to get out before it freezes, the worst rocks piles i've ever encountered are on the berwyn range , these look like soil earths until you get down about 5 foot then it turns into a rock pile afew sunk without trace in these places , never put your d

I'd say don't listen to your mate. Owned a couple, and seen a few more, and all were very good dogs. Some people slate them for having poor feet, but to be honest, I've not seen one with bad feet. They aint going to have a coat like a collie cross, but it doesn't stop em getting into cover when in persuit, and they're as keen, or keener than other types, to run anything. Maybe a slightly smaller type might be better for just ferreting, but I did alot of lamping years ago with mine, and found them very versatile ?

Wife at work, granddaughter gone home, over weight, not walked my full walk in months! Time to lug my arris the full distance. No breakfast! A full six hours still on the 22 HV ammo. Well lads, both myself and Kaiser were climbing the walls to get out. I put some practice/ training sessions in again during the evenings last week, as you know and took the Pro Sport out tonight. Well now love my cz452 ,but the 22" long barrel was a bit much in some areas and no good for out of the window from the car.I had a chat with Mike at Brock n Norris who said come on down and it,l be whilst you wait. Well a "size" reduction op i was very nervous but he talked me through each stage as he did the do and an hour later it was done and unlike a boob job this was unreversable .What had i done it was a lot shorter a lowly 14" + mod ,felt far easier to handle . Well after a little bit of ground work I’ve been to meet a lady and her father In law this morning at a local equestrian centre. Shes been having a few issues with rabbits. Also Charlie rummaging through the bins and sniffing around her sheep. After a walk round and discussing her needs she gave me the permission to shoot on her land?? Happy days 45 acres??
