  2. I told them when they build the new hen range to fit some wickets so I can get in quietly. But no they didn't so last night I had to just watch a fox hunting in the range. Eventually it came close enough and I blooming missed! I have no idea how!! It felt like a good shot. Zero check later! Went to another farm and a Vixen was down wind from calving cattle. Got down to 58 paces on the snoozing vixen. Seen three in total. Got a banging head ache, getting to old for this nonsense..... U.

  6. Depends on where you are in the country and how long you stay out..... I could walk all night local for 10/15 rabbits.... Down south or the Highlands you could have that many runs or more in the same field. Witnessed a 14 month old beddy whip dog catch 20 plus its first night lamping the higlands few yrs back being slipped by my pals 10 yr old lad lol.... You will never know what you got if you don't put them on it and test them to the max?used to jump in the motor and travel miles walk the land until its was light...... Happy to be out for 4/5 hrs these days, work in the morning . Cant wait

  11. Years a ago I had a welsh collie x greyhound. she was a good bitch and took a lot of game with her. welsh collies are generally more independent than border collies and get on with the job instead of looking for instruction. I don't know whether this trait makes a difference when breeding lurchers?

  12. Started the evening off checking the fencers on all the pens and making sure there were no problems around the pens . The birds are getting out and about now and getting back in the pens to roost no problems now . I know there is still a fox about that I haven’t accounted for , but he hasn’t caused any problems...yet ! So i waited out where I thought he might show at dusk but no sign of it . Got on to the rape field about 10.45 and nothing about . I know I’ve got the fox population right down now and every fox I get now will be a difficult one . There is the wheat to come off yet which should

Well things have slowed right down on the corvids,I guess now harvest is under way there's plenty of food around.14 shot and 11 picked,so I'm guessing that puts me somewhere around the 500 mark in the last few weeks and 858 in the ladder trap. Wheat due cutting soon, and the pigeon numbers are building so let's hope the .410 gets some more action.

  20. Someone flicked a burning cigarette end in his backpack that he noticed whilst just checking out his new purchase of a kitchen knife resulting in him panicking thinking he was on fire flinging his arms around and accidentally injuring other passengers, he did manage to put the fire out or it could of been a lot worse saving the rest of the passengers from certain cremation... I think he deserves a medal tbh

  22. Most lads don't ferret in summer for a few good reasons 1; to give the bunnies chance to breed n restock the land 2; ferrets are prone to over heat if worked in hot summer months 3; ticks are wriffe in burrows and can kill ya ferret in no time if undetected 4; after a long hard winter graffting there nuts off ya ferrets need to rest n breed too

  30. My advice would be don’t bother unless you have no sense of smell and no friends, it f*cking stinks, my mate knows the bloke who makes it so sent him a bottle to try, to be honest If I have to use that to attract the bloody fox I’d rather hand feed it my pheasants ???

  31. Watched Mark Ripley on his YouTube Rips 260 show using that spray . Seems to get them to show a bit of interest . Don’t know if I’d bother though . Having said that I never thought I’d buy thermal / night vision / icotec fox caller / quiver critter . Sod it I’ll order it now .?

  34. I’m blaming the weather, I took my mate up to the pheasant shoot last night, got onto a big dog, me on the NV and my mate on the rifle got the dog down to about 70 yards lit it up and he clean missed it, then came the barrage of excuses, my heads banging because of the weather, my backs killing me ? I had to tell him he didn’t need to explain himself to me, we all miss on another note he brought a spray fox lure with him, I don’t know if any of you have used this but the smell is horrendous, I can’t describe the smell, the foxes seem to be interested in it but I think if I’m trying to dra

  36. Spent a lot of time in the lakes walking. Never hunted up there though. Should imagine it’s similar to where I hunt in Wales. A few things about in the lower ground but up higher it’s tough terrain and you rarely see much. As foxpack says, decent views! Think it’s my favourite type of hunting.

  40. I had no problem shooting the R10 whereas I had trouble getting behind the scope on the 100(this could probably been set up better but you can’t do that with someone else’s rifle). I tried the S510 ultimate sporter, Wolverine R and Red Wolf at the northern shooting show. All 3 were epic. One of the lads at my local range brought in a Crown sub12 and it was the best of the bunch. I know it was only 20 shots or so with each so it’s only an impression I got but that’s the opportunity I got.
