This is Zak he’s 8 now and been a great old utility dog for me. From digging flushing ferreting ratting. He’s excelled over the years working banks and woods flushing to the lurcher and brung on a few young dogs in the process . He’s found me more earths than I can remember just dropping on local ground while flushing. I know folk say dangerous game to play but has payed off for me I don’t have big dangerous earths more rabbity setts. He’s had 3 or 4 big bums in thick cover lol and dug him to a fiery vixen Tuesday and a brute off a dog Charlie yesterday. Will miss this old fella for sure when13 points

Bang on maxi? There's run of the mill places everyone knows in areas. I don't know where you're from yet there's lots of lads hunt in my area. Very few terrier men, but they try there best and think they are the best. That's the problem.. They run the places they've been shown by others that suits them. They even run the places off the beaten track that are, off that track, been found that where virgin and you'd got a first dig too and thought it was all sacred! Then you go back 8/10 wks later and it's been dug and the other spot maybe 5mile away the same! You smell a rat straight away, but y7 points

Nothing like keeping things in perspective eh mate, surely tar and feather him and burn all his family would be more in keeping with such a heinias crime, as being black4 points

We have become second class citizens in our own country. You are spot on if it had been you or i we would be facing a custodial. These stories really make me want to vomit! And those c**ts who apparently run this country are weak spineless c**ts who really ought to be put against a wall! The cop should have rubbed his f***ing nose in his piss and then put the filthy c**ts brain to sleep with his baton!4 points

He could but he'd have to cover the logo or not park where it's visible. One of the other popular ordinances is not being able to have a washing line. There are places over here that have Home Owners Associations. They're basically an elected committee that walks around the neighbourhood to see if you're in breach of any of the community rules. They're out in place to stop people trashing the place but as you'd expect with committees they often invoke Godwin's law. You have to abide by their rules or you could face eviction and you sign the agreement before you can rent/buy the house. The last3 points

A collection of Corbett sits nicely on my own bookshelf alongside chuck Adams’s life at full draw and Super slam tomes. Plummer eh? I always believe that plummers works of fiction showed a sneering contempt for his fellow hunters and that they allowed his flights of fancy to be unchecked in Lepus, the main protagonist is a school teacher named Brennan whose first cross collie greyhound is a master of all disciplines..... i wonder who that he is based on? In trog , the lurcherman is scum the diggers are shown as dullards, the patterdale is psychotic, the fell3 points

Feed only when out, dog has got to earn every scrape from here on, no free lunch , no bowl , long line while out, more physical contact, and especially feed in the down much like a collie who can ground his whole bodily energy and stay stimulated, bring stimulation in the house to zero , inside calm , outside movement , so a dog can contrast , they learn fast to contrast its mother nature’s law of energy conservation, it’s all physics at the end of the day only you haven’t been told that yet but the dog is our connection to the principles of energy ,3 points

There’s nothing I enjoy more than searching for new earths, and digging them. Nearly every time I go digging, when I’ve already had a dig that morning, I’ll go exploring and I’ll find new ones, 9 times outta 10 you’ll dig in them because there always that far of the beaten track boys never bother going looking for them. I’ve dug with a few terrier men and around our way everyone seem to be doing the same earths, ground or permission to eachother. It pays to get out and search to give the earths a chance and the quarry also. Ideally I’d like to only do the same earths once in a season but it do3 points

So who had the first fox of 2018 ???? I was supposed to go up North to friends (who had a good day) but a hard dig on Saturday left me with a f****d up back so just took the lurcher out this morning with full confidence I'd see old Charlie out hunting. To the West the moon was setting and to the East the sun was rising so a more perfect time to be out couldn't happen. Not so, plenty of Hares ensured a tired lurcher with a bruised eye brought home with nothing in the bag. So which of ye will lay claim to the first game accounted for in this new year ?2 points

Think she is about 2 years old. Newkid bought it for his wife and was told not to turn it into a hunter!!! It’s by no way from working stock but one day she tagged along......she will go into cover and she always tags along with us. I have seen her latch onto a rabbit and she will not let go!! Funny how instinct and hanging around with other dogs can change things.2 points

Yeah, definitely ! I'd look to invest in an adjustable peg portfolio, with a small bust-out back up, or a straight compound choke price format, returning around 12%. This would, in effect, amount to a backstop purchase on a bid spread of downswing purchases..................... Easy, really.2 points

I always liked the realism national treasure Ranulph fiennes brought to his book “the sett” .....???? agreed darcy And Lloydy top notch lads lads writers , never really clicked with Didrikson as I thought he was too easily taken in by people he didn’t know too well...... paul Dooley’s was always a good read but for me, as a Work of fiction harcombes “every mans hand” takes some beating2 points

My dog who I had high hopes for this season won't go to ground.and I'm to big to fit in the earth so that's me out of the running. But don't you think you are a bit harsh giving the lurcher a black eye for not catching Neil lol.2 points

There will come a time very soon when this technology is pennies and everyone with an FAC has all of their rifles equiped with it. The difference with this is that the animal doesn't even know it's being hunted, they can't adapt to the shooting pressure, they just get wiped out, I've seen it first hand. It's embarrassingly easy and soon everyone will have it. Like when the technological leap of the motor vehicle was introduced to the white hunters of Africa, I believe the widespread use of image intensifier, thermal and whatever future advancements are to come will be detrimental to the sport.2 points
