Little un turned 4 during lockdown so now old enough but club onky just re-opened. First class yesterday, he absolutely loved it and was totally focussed on what the teacher was saying. Back tomorrow and Friday. I know 4 is young but he is a bit mental at times so helps burn off some steam. Plus hope he sticks with it for the discipline, respect and fitness.12 points

Cheers I'm happy with him ... I'll be honest with you he'll never be fully tested in the same way as other terriers mentioned were but they've only ever had to put a smile on my face6 points

with what I have kept, you can go like to like for 3 or 4 gens then back to saluki then carry on like to like the fact that the out cross pups are like three quarter saluki don't make any difference imho. when I had first crosses I went greyhound to make three quarter that was a mistake, the same bitch to saluki threw top class, I also went first x first x they were ok to, with regards lurchers if they bred for a gen or two and are what is required go to something alike, the probs start from to many ingredients in the mix to start with imho. so beddy grey x beddy grey should be fine, just out6 points

I like the sounds of rooks. We have a rookery near us. A chilly autumnal Sunday afternoon, chopping logs at bottom of our garden, hearing the rooks sorting amongst themselves who's roosting where, with the smell of my missus roast dinner cooking. If only I could bottle that feeling!6 points

Four is a good age, my grandson is Five he’s been training MMA for a bit now, had a couple tournaments and been graded a couple of times too. This is him with the Flu, he refused to not compete. Makes ya proud. I think the secret is keep it fun, mix it up and they’ll do ok. My grandson goes skateboarding a couple of times per week as well, all strength and character building. keeps em of that f***ing screen too6 points

Why would you want to put a greyhound into a line of Lurchers these days? Yes they are fast. But unless you’re breeding first x or you’re Lurchers are scatter bred, it’s a massive backwards step. Yer Lurcher breeding isn’t rocket science - just breed typey / line bred, best to best and don’t lie to yourself and others about how good or bad the dog/s are. On a side note - most Lurchers, probably most working dogs, just don’t see the graft, and a lot of folk think an average dog is a good one, and that’s a fact!5 points

well havent been on for a long time now just keeping my head down but all my beddies have varying degrees of fell blood in them as it keeps the size down gives them better coats and all in all makes for a hardier dog not that beddies need spicing up if that were the case you d best shoot them , and for all the black dog boys were do you think they came from ? all pats have bedlington in them may be 60 years ago but they have beddie in them done right its a good mix best of luck with it atb Tops5 points

We put a flock of 50 into a field with grass up to their bellies one day, next they were in a plowed field. I could understand if it was the other way round, but that, nope4 points

Well said, only someone with a big ego looking for fame calls his terriers by his own name, lads are just carrying on a line. I doubt buck or breay went around calling their dogs by their surname.4 points

In areas where we have a lynx family, roe completely disappears in 2-3 years. They are moving away from danger or they are eaten. I'm saying this from experience, I'm not quoting here from National Geographic or from some TV documentary.4 points

I can’t take martial arts seriously at all as 99 percent of it is bollocks it’s something most people don’t want you to know . most MMA clubs are a bunch of dinglers with three or four fights to there name . muay Thai for fitness hands down , easily the best For all round work bjj For actually rolling around judo should be given a far higher profile imho karate is in danger imho if collapsing in this country due to the rise of MMA clubs kungfu and taekwindo can just f**k off3 points

I guess it's down to personal preference; I don't need a coursing dog that does 5 from 5, or a dog that's a demon around the nets ! Ive had running dogs for well over 50 years......pures, first crosses, lurcher x lurcher, good and bad, all sorts. Some I'll never forget, some better forgotten ! LOL ! It all depends on what you do, what you want, and even what's pleasing to the eye ! These days, because of age and the law, I just need something that fills a pot, something I can take a hare or two or a roe with, and be on and off before it comes on top ! But most of all, so3 points

To be fair, there's plenty of shithouses in the game, who bring lurchers and hunting into disrepute......BUT there's also loads of top people who will help out in any way they can, and just go about their business without needing any limelight or thanks ! Ive argued and fell out with people in the past, but I've grown up, and have made friends and been out with people who I once argued with and found them to be great company ! Its a strange old game ! Cheers.3 points

Simple....I’ll never be able to afford dogs at this price.....and if I could I wouldn’t be funding the 99% of people that put bitches through a pregnancy for their own monetary gains. I hope in the future someone on here would provide me with a pup at a working mans price.3 points

No tree hugger matey perhaps you aren't as young as you once was to be polite, let me tell you a little story, a long time ago , you couldn't wish to meet a more content and happier chappy than me, out with my dogs n ferrets never taking more from nature than I needed and in return giving my dogs what they needed, then I remember one particular outing , where my mate Nell whippet, was up the arse of a bunny, the poor bunny was screaming in terror , I will never forget that experience I didn't like it one bit, suppose its because im an owd git, ive had chance of several lurchers as of recent,3 points

My guess was about 175yards but I am not 100%. Either way I rested on the sticks and aimed at the rabbit just as it lifted itself out of the grass perfectly for me. I aimed for its chest and loosed Fairweather. A little noise come back and I simply thought I had missed. The rabbit lunged forward stood up and then keeled over! A perfect heart shot. I like these Hornady 20g!3 points

The best dog I ever had was bred by Downsouth off here from a mating he did with Chaz. If you could of bottled that dogs heart You would have been rich. Everyone hated the dog except me, he was a liability really because he was no size and would just go hammer and tongs at what ever he dropped on to. He came away a few times but I never thought badly of the dog for it, I looked at the reality and the reality was it was come away or die and eventually he did die, killed with two in the pocket and doing his normal raving lunatic act.......lad I had lent him too tried for 3 days to3 points

If I bred a litter of pups I’d rather see one go to an old man to lie in front of a fire than some idiot that’ll feed it shit food, run it on hard ground, shout about how amazing it is then sell it. As long as someone looks after their dogs and doesn’t tell lies they can go out once a year for all I care3 points
