  2. Leading on from a thread in the country crafts section. A link was put up of a bird in America selling farrier file knives made for chefs and charging $800 so I decided to ha e a go at knocking one up today to see if I matched hers. Well I think their pretty similar so £620 is the equivalent of $800 ... don’t all rush at once I will take orders ? hers. mine ......

  3. It was nice to be out this morning even though it was windy and the locator Batteries had gone missing , twelve bolted and at least two were left underground , the farmer was a nice chap and he made Gypsy Caravans ,said he had been doing them for 60 years , I was speaking about his orchard and the trees were all Perry pears and he had made it all his life but no one wanted to carry it on , my Mates Mrs came up to fetch him and stop him going Pub .

  7. Been busy with other things so not made a knife for a while. There is a KITH over on EM and the challenge was to make a Puukko form recycled materials....right up my street. Blade ground form a HSS industrial planer blade. Handle is stacked from recycled brass, copper, stainless and filled in with denim Micarta. All cast onto the handle in a oner then ground to shape.

  13. Been cutting and burning over the last couple of weekends, the ground is too wet for any vehicle access so it has been a case of walking in with a chainsaw and a lighter. It's been very therapeutic actually and starting to see the plum orchard reappearing

  21. I help to run a walk and stand syndicate we have twelve guns that's two teams of six So when four lads could not make it on Sat I tried to fill the vacancies but no one took up the offer. Saturdays shoot with only 4 guns in the line and 4 beaters seamed as if it wasn't going to be a very good day and it was bloody raining on the first drive .My team was to beat on the first drive thru a wood of falling trees and heavy bracken cover we pushed thru with two lads with dogs in the wood and one flanking either side with one walking gun. We flushed at least a half dozen pheasants and about

  22. for the ferreting job a collie or kelpie would suit me, had the collie and was great. some of my perms are not keen on lurchers and loads of eyes on folk nowadays. i like a biddable dog, the big lurcher i have is fantastic to handle, i really like that, but at 27" he looks a bit intimidating. Before i make any decisions which will be a few years down the line i will go and watch kelpies work, i know a farmer who has a few. really like the collie but i fancy the kelpie, you need to follow your head and heart sometimes i think.

  23. Let’s tell the truth, the NHS in its current format is unsustainable.....it will eventually run out of other people’s money at some point.......unless everyone winds up working full time to pay for it or they import even more millions of tax donors into that island. It’s costs every single person in the UK (working or not) £40 a week each ! So in real terms, it’s costs all the working people £100 a week each. Some form of insurance would be much cheaper than that even if all the working people stuck in £20 each to cover folks who couldn’t afford cover......they would still have

  34. Having a bit of insomnia at minute so settled down to watch a miniseries about 9 ish nearly finished it in one go , the devil next door tells the true story of the prosecution of a former nazi war criminal who was an all American guy working in ford auto plant in Cleveland Ohio very reminiscent of the 80s film music box which it must surely be the root of. Gripping watch, totally enthralling

  39. Don't believe that bollocks about the family home. The house they were talking about has nothing to do with JRM. It is a Grade 1 listed building and was desecrated by first the NCB then Rotherham Council who used it as a teacher training centre. The fecking great ballroom has a netball pitch marked out on it. It deserves public money to restore it. JRM doesn't own it, has never lived there or stayed one night inside it. The story is Labour propaganda.
