Daughters wedding yesterday so a bit hanging this morning, out for a nice walk with the dogs on the Cotswolds gathered a bit of firewood and just made myself a nice beg roll, fresh crusty bread from local bakery bit of pig from local slaughterhouse and a double Yoker from the cleaner at work ready for a quiet afternoon sat by the fire

Nicepix was a genuine chap and straight talking ,maybe too straight talking for some . He had a good knowledge of working dogs. He was after all a professional dog handler . He was/is also a fishing writer . I knew him on another forum and he was kind enough to go to the trouble of sending me a fishing reel from France as a gift when l showed an interest in it. He no longer post on that forum either; maybe he just got fed up with the internet. I know some won't agree but l miss his posts . I'd love to know if he ever did get a big catfish on a cane rod and centrepin reel!

Top class Monk fish is very high on the tasty scale, like prawn meat, lovely with oyster sauce and spring onion, with fried rice. Or fried in batter as scampi

I wouldn't worry too much about diets and suchlike,....a young work dog needs all the good grub that you can get into it.... Facts are,.with certain hybrids,...some in a litter will often throw chunky, its just the way it goes, and nothing will turn a cloddy type into a sleek gazehound.... When folks choose to keep such crossbred curs,..they had best keep this firmly in mind, and fully realise, the physical limitations of their charges....

Had a few 'undesirables' stop at site and ask for scrap this week(obviously scouting us out)...last week before xmas, diesel bowser will be emptied and left open for all to see from the site entrance ,all machines ran dry and buckets/pecker up on the container roofs, tool sheds will be emptied and everything coming home with us...and we only breaking up for 4 days lol....
