  1. Nothing has changed since the ban.... if your discreet and not stupid enough to film what you are doing...then you get to craic on...it's the fame seekers that can't use their heads ,just can't grasp the concept of flying under the radar ?

  2. Thus is exactly what I was getting at with the thread I started about this. Those shit house Liberal scum social services ignored all the warnings because they were lezzers , there is no other excuse.

  4. I know, but the ban was never about animal welfare, it was the Labour Party wanting, in their words, "to give Tory toffs in red coats a bloody nose" And in the draughting of the law, instead of saying foxes and foxhounds, it was extended as a catchall to include all dogs and all mammals, with the exception of rats and rabbits. Purely class hatred, nothing to do with animal welfare. Cheers.

  5. Absolutely lunacy, so why is it OK to catch a hare with a hawk or eagle but not a dog? They just make shit up as they go along.

  6. Maybe we have been speaking at cross purposes here. I don’t disagree with that. I’ve simply been pointing out why coursing has found itself the enemy of the rest of the countryside and this sort of anti coursing movement has risen. For over a decade I was involved with a DIY syndicate shoot in coursing country. Out that way the type of shoots that dominate are little piss pot syndicates because the land is shit, put simply. Yeah there’s commercial stuff but it’s not the mainstay. We were on 1700 acres and rent was like 3.5k. There was a well known fella from up the A1 that was allowed to

  7. To some one like me at my age it seems a life time away the days when the places I worked nobody gave a shit if I was poaching venison or game birds and could always find buyers at the pit or on the building site I still think that social media has had a big impact on how ordinary joe public view lad's coursing a few hares.

  14. I cant say anything about final prices but the other two guys involved have been told from day one, we ain't doing this and taking the piss on the price. Money is not the motivation behind this for me. ?

  15. I've never said I'm making a new ferret finder, those that I've spoken to have always been told "we" There's 3 of us in this project and always has been from day one. Cloning a Mk1 locator isn't difficult and if that's what I wanted then it could of been done a long time ago. Why copy something like that and not try and improve on it? Its not something I could do with my skill set. The engineer who's the brains behind this project designs stuff like this for a living, unfortunately since Covid hit he has had some serious family issues,,, I won't go into details as its not my place to sa

  16. I remember it well. Peter Easterby and another man were charged with allowing their land to be used for illegal hare coursing. They pleaded not guilty but the judge found them guilty, but gave them absolute discharges, stating that the Hunting Act was confusingly worded. Prescott and Clarissa pleaded guilty to illegal coursing, and again the judge gave absolute discharges. No costs were levied against any of the defendants. I still see and chat with one of the other lady defendants, she usually has one of her old coursing whippets with her at the Whippet racing. Grand old lady to chat to

  17. Feeding this morning and with the thick fog it was still dark up there at 8, nothing had quite woken up when I set out and there was still a lot of birds around the pens, heading over the piggeries with the fog through the trees there was quite a few deer about, by the time I got to the main feed area over there I was met by a group of about 50 birds, the majority of them hens for some reason all looking at me as if to say “ where the hell have you been, we’re starving “. Next day on Saturday so with a bit of luck it will be a good one ?

  21. Lad I know , very quiet lad , didn’t know what a phone is , older type , had patterdales mid 90s onwards . Finishing off and as they were packing away , the end of a shovel caught in the mechanism and smashed a brake light cover on his vitara. was driving home in the motorway and as he emerged at the junction , a Volvo t 5 was sat at the top . The traffic cops face he said was a picture as he stared at the boxed up black dogs with half faces left . you’d have thought they’d caught al Capone 35 years of keeping earth dogs and never bothering a soul , f****d by

  29. Remember the Working Lurcher Association? When it was going to become affiliated with the Countryside Alliance ? I was asked to become a committee member but declined. I knew since the Hunting Ban that the CA had no interest in Lurchers, and would throw us under the bus without a moments hesitation, and they have at every opportunity! As for confiscating dogs, it's nothing new, there's lads on here who have had dogs taken. Poaching has never been legal, and to be fair, the punishments have been far harsher in the past, but on balance, I wouldn't mind being deported to Australia

  32. Some interesting thoughts? Obviously,.. we are all individuals when it comes to pricing for mole trapping work, so there will always be a massive difference in costing... Personally,.. I no longer have to take on big farms, as I have hundreds of private gardens,, small holdings, etc, on my books Facts are, I can never do all the work requested of me, so I invariably pass it on, to trusted operatives. Nice situation to be in, but, it has taken me a long old while to become.. financially, 'self sufficient'...? With that in mind,.. the best advice that I could ever give
