  5. I think the problem is that most people are thick. They are born with a brain but in the most part do not use it. I know people who hunt but do not shoot. Others that shoot but do not hunt. Some hunt and fish. Some only fish. Most people do not hunt or fish or shoot but love to eat animals and fish that have been killed by other people. Most of the latter are usually against any form of hunting or shooting. Peller crab has been mentioned in an earlier post. I have had the piss ripped out of me on boats because I always kill the crab before pulling the legs off, putting a hook through

  7. At the moment your right Wilf, but when the shooting , starting with grouse and driven game then on to recreational shooting and stalking , has been stopped , the natural progression will be angling .Using the successful divide and conquer technique , first it will be the perceived rich end , game fishing , that will start the ball rolling , after that it’s sea and course ..thankfully I’ll be long gone but anyone that thinks the anti brigade will stop once shooting has been abolished is only kidding themselves ..

  8. They aren't day time hare dogs. They will kill, but there's better alternatives. Ive allways been very skeptical of times and slip distances. A 4 minutes course is usually more like 1 1/2 minutes, and a 200 yard slip is usually more like 50 yards. I'm a great believer in the old saying; "don't believe anything you hear, and only half you see", especially where dogs are concerned. Maybe I'm more cynical than senile ? Cheers.

  11. I guess you have heard of peeler crabs Wilf a very big bait for sea anglers. When I was keen I had 500 crab pots for peeling shore crab just bits of gutter ridge tiles stuck in the mud a 45%. What if they then ban all live baits no worm, no maggots, no sand eels. They keep chipping at the edges till it's all gone same as hunting with dogs no packs then no dogs taking any game. Cheers Arry

  31. Agree and disagree mate . A top dog will be testing a real good winter boy regularly. Forcing a mistake if possible. Yeh Geoff was good lad . Hills was a good site . But imho , a good dog kills anywhere. Stock broken, taught to jump wire , if the dog has good gears , brain and good steam , should kill anywhere in UK

  36. well lads there is an old saying you breed a dog for the land you are going to run your dogs on, Back in the day late 50s 60s, we bred colliexgrey x Deerhound xgrey, those two breeds were bred from working stock IE, the collie was from aworking hill collie and the grey was a coursing grey, the Deerhound was from a working Scottish Deerhound, that blood is no longer available, today, I must state that that those breeds, were hard bred dogs and were more than capable of putting meat on the table, in DAYLIGHT, and they were never at the vets, or bone man, Today the Saluki highbred is
