Had a few hours spare Saturday and Sunday and had some antlers and driftwood in the shed, and had seen a few faux antler lamps in the likes of dunelm and other places so decided to have a crack at one myself using all natural materials.... hmmm not as easy as you'd think to getting antlers to sit what with weights being imbalanced and what not..so after a bit of swearing and super glued hands this is the finished article...11 points

These 2 dogs are with out a doubt the best 2 dogs I’ve had the privilege to hunt along side .they can find old Charlie boy anyway in any cover , and there has been a good few different lads , some off here that have seen them go , anyway age is always a problem , although they hopefully have plenty of years left , they will be hard to replace , my plans for the future are daughter out of Brian n beagle x cocker I will put the black n tan dog over her , any other lads got a breeding programme ??6 points

Sheffield Hunt Saboteurs’ Land Rover was stolen and trashed last week. Please consider donating to their fundraiser for a new vehicle to keep them in the fields saving wildlife https://twitter.com/HuntSabs/status/10670853129528156166 points

Up until a few years ago, I was firmly in the 'man the f**k up' camp - until 2 people close to me came down with it. ........... I found a mate in his car with a hosepipe from the exhaust to the window. There were no outward signs or warnings. He was up to his arsehole in debt - he's kind of ok now, still has some debt but, he's in a better place. Mum became withdrawn because of her health issues - all of her kids make more effort to visit now and, she seems better for it - we were all there pretty regular but, now we make a proper pain in the arse of ourselves.6 points

Before the grey boxes were out the hardest strangest dig I had on my own was when hounds really pushed a fox to ground in a single hole.I started digging and the dogs baying changed but still where I though it was..13 feet later I opened up to a broken doorway into a room with the fox and dog locked together ..It later transformed it was an old army ammunition room ..Hard dig I was knackered. The same place has now a large sett ranging from 5 feet to 17 very well used now..I never ever trenched on in them days its a knack you have either got or havent I still locate before my mate switches his6 points

This last weekend gone I was lucky enough to accompany Matt down to his patch in beautiful Dorset . He has recently gained more land on the strength of his efforts elsewhere . This new landowner really doesn’t like deer or rather the damage too many can do to natural habitat . The woodland has a perfect mix of deciduous and coniferous plantings at all stage of growth but previous owners have neglected to cull appropriately resulting in a marked browse line and stunted regrowth .we arrived at the ground with minutes to spare before shootable light Inside the wood we both stalked the same4 points

If your .22lr is simply used for sub sonic lead ammo then there will be a lot more fouling on the HMR as its all coated. If you use HV .22lr where much is copper coated the fouling will be little different.....but, it will be easier to clean from a .22lr because of bullet speed and bore size. There is no doubt you need to be careful with the bore of the .17, it is small! My HMR is cleaned regularly and thoroughly and keeps zero, many suggest it takes 50 or more shots after a clean to get zero back, draw your own conclusions! I tend to use mine out to about 160 yards with a very high4 points

17hmr. If someone I know swapped his LR for one how far on calm day could he shoot at crows and magpies? How far on a windy day? Do the barrels get fouled easily? Would I ......he need a mod? What's the heaviest bullet they do? I'll pass on what you say ?3 points

Had a day off today and used both my springers. A Chinese underlever thingy, all £69 worth of it mildly tuned and a trigger job and my little 99s. Made a cracking shot on a 45yarder crow. Plum in the back of the head! The 99s loves these jsb 16grn pellets. The pellet was in the crows brain so I dug it out! Look how little rifling marks there is but they really want to stack themselves on top of each other! The Chinese thingy although low power is amazingly accurate with a good selection of pellets. I used up my last 17 Superdomes plinking and then went hunt3 points

Mine is silent when working. Never yapped once, noisy little shit the rest of the time though. When we got him I was told he would be too slow for rabbits and too small for anything else. He proved that wrong time and time again3 points

Its all very well blaming various people for the outcome, but in the end it is down to one person, May. You could argue that her civil servant cronies have played a large part in the shitstorm we have now. At the end of the day she has led this "deal" from the begining. Only the other day she said this was the deal that she wanted right from the start of the negotiations. Personally I am fed up being told that I was lied to, didnt know what I was voting for etc. I knew EXACTLY what i voted for and that was to leave the EU. OUT entirley with no ties to the union. I hope this deal3 points

Well you are doing a good job on the Greys Mitch - nice shooting . A good question by Jonjon i think, - what do any of us do with our bags of vermin ? I`m with Mitch on the fried squirrel aspect. For me there is nothing out there to even compare to deep fried Squirrel. Again, nice shooting Mitch.3 points

If it was the choice of one I’d keep the .22, you can shoot 100 yards with a sub, further with hv, ?3 points

Hmmm, I use 17gr in mine but they do a 20gr, I've never tried them though! I don't get any more fouling than the lr to be honest too. I'm comfortable at 100 yards on a calm day, can't say about windy days, as I'm too soft to go out when it's windy. I'm sure a man of your standing could get another 30 - 40 yards, Errr I mean your friend! Come join us on a mouse hunt ? Ps. I'd definitely recommend a mod too, the difference is dramatic. I'm using federal 17gr ballastic tips, they turn rabbits inside out at 80+ yards no bother.2 points

Ray,its clear you have no real understanding of depression, you can take all the meds in the world and it will never sort out the mind of a manic depressive, and you got the patience of a saint ...id be very happy not to have you anywhere near any poor soul with mental issues, you have a very selfish outlook it seems after reading your thoughts ..ive lived with a family member for 50 years with mental health issues, and its horrendous for all the family but 10 times worse for the sufferer2 points

It’s not just Collie blood, I think most Lurchers if worked enough on rabbits figure out what’s worth running and what’s not.2 points
