  1. About a week off 5 months and the pup is just under his father. The brindle pups has been given to my buddy as due to time I couldn’t train the two pups to the standard I’d like. Very happy with the pup so far, retrieving well and over all his recall is very good. Can’t give out at all.

  4. Well my plan was to finish work, put the gear in the car get up to the perm, get the last couple of hours before dark in the woods see what corvids, woodies and squirrels were about, then a stroll round the fields once dark.... Well I did,nt even leave the house till it was pitch black so part 1 was a washout before it begun, so with a fresh set of batteries in the photon off I went, overcast, dry with a breeze perfect conditions, two shots at my zero 35yds, happy... First field seen two bunnies, lazed at 75yds,so crept in slow got to 40yds and dropped the primos sticks on the grass, bunnies w

  6. Here here. Some lads like to glorify the past and slag of the youth, but they forget the past practises of some brought the restrictions we have today, something the youth have to deal with and there’s a lot of young lads out there now conducting terrier work to a higher standard than what was deemed the norm yesteryear. All you can do is do right by your dogs and your dogs breeding and the rest should follow

  7. Amazes me how many deluded people their are in this country you really believe politicians.? Truth is they are only feathering their own nests, resignations will trickle in and as the required number is nearly reached then the flood gates will open, that way they may still have a job when a new PM takes over. However reading the views of the anti brexit brigade on this site, i realise that a lot of british people have lost faith in their own ability to run their own country and are afraid to leave the purse strings of the EU. Shame on you, cowardice in the face of the enemy and france has been

  10. Well that was an eye opener..... beyond me why someone would rather kill a healthy pup than give it away to a good working home, if you want high bids for puppies best get yourself a frenchie or something, there’s not as much money to be made in the lurcher game, despite the efforts of some well known ‘dog men’ trying to drive the prices up

I was once sat on a train going to Brighton to see my son and i was sat looking out the window when i heard a voice i knew and turned round to see two old pals of mine on the same train,i was so blown away to see them and spent ages and ages explaining to them i just couldn't believe the coincidence of them being on the same train as me and i was proper cuffed about it.When the ketamine wore off a bit i found myself sat in a caravan on a old dissused railway line in Northampton with 2 other lunched out waste of spaces as myself ?....

  14. In this video I'm out ferreting for rabbits with Ryan and his lurcher pup Max. Its Max's first day out ferreting with Longnets. We return back to Ryans permission which has open warrens and is perfect for hunting rabbits. Ryan start by surrounding the warrens with a 50 yard Longnet and a ten yard stop net which has a leaded bottom line from Rabbitfever.co.uk Max is a natural at jumping the longnets and is also friends with the ferrets. Ryan lets him have a sniff around the rabbit holes but when Ryan enters the ferrets he puts Max in position to observe the rabbit warren whilst we let

  17. It's all about the macho image today (especially with the young fellas), one clown said to me Ive got a truck full of lads coming down one week and we dug 8 last week (his dogs never had a scratch on them) other fellas won't give another lad a dog incase he's afraid it'll walk, fellas digging after 5 mins, again afraid something will go wrong. Or the best one is when you ask a fella how is such and such he'll say he or she died from this or that knowing full well they jacked. Trying to impress people nowadays will bite you on the arse it's a small world and you'll be found out.

So, lads, - i rang FX up and explained a few lads i know have bought them in both sub 12 and FAC and can they tell me what`s the big deal about an FX Impact ? First thing they said was " Who`s bought one of them" ? honestly, you could hear them giggling away in the background I said, as far as i know, Pav ( Alan), Phil Pot, Villaman ( Mitch) and Big Mac ( Jimmy), - well they were in hysterics by now ?

  23. Hello, yesterday I finished this new model, the "Norse" - my interpretation of a puukko. 82mm blade from damascus (1.2842 / C100 / 75Ni8) with a 200 layers, soldered ferrule from gun metal, stellar seacow handle and gun metal pommel. On the pics you can see some grey spots, I tried to fill some holes in the bone with epoxi - I didn't match well the colour, today I repeated this and they're now black.. Regards Nicolas

  24. After checking the forecast and checking it again things looked good for an outing....... wrong! As we neared our destination it was like pea soup, thick fog and very little visibility, as we drove round to were we were going to start we saw 2 rabbits drop into a handy sett, in no time we had the nets set round and ferrets entered, soon they started to bolt, Nell caught 3 and the nets did the rest, 7 in total, apart from the fog things had started ok. Once we got parked up we headed out into the wilderness, with working closely together I could use Nell for marking and give my mate the heads u

  25. Out last with craig as cloud cover was perfect for roost shooting even though the trees are holding onto there leaves a bit longer than usual. Two copses to go at as they always hold bandits. And as we approached it was obvious bandits were at home so stealth mode in order .Craig took 1st one only 25yds sending others to take off I spotted one trying to look invisible and it paid the price. Nothing left to shoot at as they had done a bunk so we walked 2 fields to some bigger trees and I could see a few crows on over hanging branches we picked one each and after the count of 3 we both fire

  31. Take a look at this photo. You can see the hole the squirrel tried to escape in but Jess stopped it nearly fanging it. It ran to the next tree and back to the hole and back to the other tree as Jess was on its tail. It was its third run at the hole that Jess lost it so I could blast it as it got home. Talk about fast action! It was a hard five hours hunting today with a first, my first partridge to a muzzleloader! I walked two miles or more to get on some pheasants that have summered in a corner of a farm and woodland. The first bird was straight forward. A

And if he's not on Facebook, then sounds like he's one of the few that still has hope, cause social media and all these forum's etc generally do nothing to improve things. He'll learn more from you and being out in the field than scrolling through a forum but good luck deciding whatever you do?

  34. I disagree,as I said plenty of clowns at it then, but the high tec locators make it simple, the track suit and fancy runners brigade invaded the country side with terriers and bull lurchers to prove they are macho and that there dogs are macho leaving gates open worrying live stock, never picking up a spent cartridge shell, and leave your sandwich wrappers behind.Just look at FB fellows holding up dead mangled foxes like trophy's with big stupid grins on there face as if they had killed a bear single handed. The locator has made it safer for the dog,I dont know how they made it safer for the man,a

  35. My cousin is currently in Belgium for the 1st World War remembrance. 3 unknown soldiers had recently been found and were being buried in graves at Tyne cot. One was a Lancashire fusilier so my cousin was especially interested as he researches that regiment. Apparently the dead soldier had a pencil in his uniform pocket. The pencil was inscribed 'eagley cricket club'. My cousins family home is 100yards from that club.

  36. Just as many clowns were at it before the locator! Doubling up, trenching in from the entrance and the use of draw dogs were common practise amongst them. Yes it’s simpler, but progression has made it a lot safer for yourself and the dog, and if you really wanted to test the dog like you say, you can always sit back for a few hours before you dig.
