It was a cold, wet December night in 2008 when the phone rang. It was next door, “Have you got a Dog?” Sue asked. “Don’t be silly” Mrs A said. “You know I don’t like Dogs” “Well there’s one at the bottom of your garden, I’ve heard it barking” “I’ll go and have a look” Mrs A said. Moments later I heard a scream, “It’s a great big effing dog” she cried. I went out to look, sure enough, a big black dog stood there in our garden and barked at us. He was wet through and ran back up to the end of the garden to get under the only slight shelter there was, a Weeping Willow tree. “He’ll be5 points

Have been after a big lad of a fox for two weeks now. He has been raising chickens every night at a local egg unit. The thing is I have not seen him anywhere in the area around the unit as late as gone 1am and first light, no pheasant has betrayed him too. All I had to go off was huge ( for fox) paw prints, so big I sometimes wondered if I was dealing with a marauding dog! After much thought I thought I will check the nearest sheep farm that also has a disused quarry next to it, always a favourite hideout for fox. It about three miles to a crow from the egg unit. Well I am4 points

What I still can't get my head around is why everyone is suddenly buying what the Russians are selling? No one trusts an MP. Everyone knows a Yank politician is lying the moment his lips start moving. Why is everyone so chummy with the Russkies all of a sudden?4 points

Been a while since I posted any thing hunting on THL, mainly going on insta but it’s also been a while since I went out for a night with the light. Fancied hitting bugs on a field where I’ve noticed a lot of thumpers late evening. Managed three. Lost one... just couldn’t find it in the dark. Need a Kaiser Used me old Lenser on red beam. Not the best but good enough out to 35’ish yards.3 points

I think with all Herding types, be they Borders, Beardies or their Antipodean cousins,...its best to only use those examples that are of good temperament... To breed a steady critter, that does not exhibit foolish, manic behavior,..it is favorite, to choose your base stock carefully,..very fecking carefully...3 points

This article from The Independent via Yahoo. She was sentenced to 7½ years. 7 for GBH and 6 months under the new controlling behaviour legislation. It wasn't so much a victory for the new legislation as it was successfully enforced laws from 1861 that carried the bulk of the conviction. To conclude I think the biggest obstacle here is institutionalised not-give-a-f*ckery. This new statute is nothing more than smoke and mirrors turned into a wonderful headline that shows they're really making a difference...3 points

There's no reason to believe any of them, mate. We all prattle on about the evil of government and agenda yet Vlad and his mates are suddenly the bastions of hope and morality. Regardless of the outcome of this investigation, it'll either be real or fake news depending on who reads it.3 points

Nobody gives a shit were it comes from all the issuing of licences and no cash transaction bollacks was only so the government could close another cash loophole and grab another slice of someone else,s pie, after all the House of Lords gets bigger every year and someone has to earn the £300 a day they give the crusty old fuckers to turn up and sleep, people near me are still having there flashings robbed on a weekly basis,3 points

Maybe action man was always closet gay and didn't feel comfortable coming out until the law was changed allowing gays to join the military. He had a difficult first few years hiding that away and it isn't his fault you guys spent your childhood experimenting and playing with sissy dolls. ???3 points

I'm curious as to how you think a veterinarian can prove they're pure polecats since it's my understanding that even DNA testing can't differentiate between hybrids and polecats. In the past 20 years or so I've seen literally hundreds of photos purporting to be UK polecats. Only two of them looked like they might have been pure polecats and they were both taken in isolated areas of Wales. While a few might have been high content hybrids, the vast majority were clearly ferrets. I think your chances of actually getting a pure polecat in the UK are slim to none, although I don't doubt you'3 points

It's not exactly common though is it and would be near impossible to get the right dog. It's just bad advice telling an inexperienced person to go down that path and end up wasting time and money on a string of dogs that won't do the job. They might be fine for bushing but how good are they at going to ground after rabbits and what can they do down there in tight pipes that a ferret wouldn't do the job better. My advice would be to get a terrier for bushing and bolting them from cover and marking holes and use a ferret for below the ground..3 points

And on a lighter note, me and Daniel Caine were in the home of fox dropper yesterday to meet totally independent witness,s just outside wooton basset and we found enough stuff to indicate the old couple may well have been telling truth and the other area that's a bit hot with reports is south hams in Devon ( I did,nt even no it was a place) so maybe you,d be better popping outside than wanking each other off an Internet forum,2 points

His maxwell here is my opinion on the 99. Iv had 2 and loved them both. It' one of the easiest guns to work on ever, a pleasure to work on infact. Here' a guide on stripping them My preferrd set up after much playing about i' as follows... Tbt drop in kit with guides sized to the supplied spring. It will need cutting and the spring end finishing like this..... Strip your gun and Polish everything including the cyl and spring ends to a mirror with wet and dry to 1500 grit. Put the latch of your piston into a drill and spin it at his speed to Polish it as2 points

Doubled up some of the time,in deep places where it was luck if they could hear the dogs or with nervousness when they weren't totaly sure if they knew what they were doing during their time of learning the ropes. But these days we have electronic locators that can find at 60 meters deep and to have one on a dog when you need it is common sense, being a careless fool is having it at your disposal and ignoring it.....2 points
