About two years ago I was working on a property in the central tablelands NSW when the bosses wife called me to rescue a baby fox down a mine shaft. These people would have to be the kindest farmers in Australia. The cub was almost dead on a ledge about 20ft straight down with another 30ft drop after that.I tied a rope around my waist and went in on a ladder. It looked about three weeks old .The missus got it back to health feeding it chicken mince, rabbit an its favourite dead birds. It would follow her around the paddock even collecting the eggs amongst the chickens and sleep in an old ferret ca6 points

Ok, brace yourselves, another one of my ludicrous conspiracy theories........ The powers that be don’t want anyone to be self sufficient.......that want you on the wheel of mortgage, paying the utility company, paying the credit card that you use to buy government food at Tesco...... See, as it stands......if a prospective politician walks up my drive now, I dont need that prick for a god damn thing......not one thing. I don’t need him to alter anything to make my life better really because I don’t owe anybody and I don’t teally have to shop at their shops or do anything else if6 points

I am only connected to electric and phone and obviously mains water everything else is mine and I can provide for myself. So, I can do without phone, water is not a problem to harvest as it falls out the sky by the f***ing tanker load !! If I had the money to invest in a decent solar or wind system for electric then I would pretty much be totally off grid. I own 2 peat bogs and a forest so fuel is no problem and I do that for myself now. I am just about to sit down and eat my own pork and I also have my own veal and lamb in the freezer now. I have eggs but I am shit at6 points

I will now add my blow up Kaiak to be safe .......4 points

I think peoples ideas of prepping and survival are changing, been in villages where only one or two houses had lecky before but people still managed to charge their phones in fact that was their priority, paper thin flip-flops,tattered shorts and vest, couple of starving ankle biters in tow but their main concern was their phone4 points

Hello everyone, my name is Nick , I'm a hunter , woodsman and bushcrafter from Georgia (country not the state) I Have been hunting since I'm 10 , from 12 with my own shotgun. Mostly over here we hunt birds, quail , pheasant , duck and woodcock. Hope I will learn a thing or two here and enjoy discussions with fellow hunters. Here are a few picks of mine.3 points

@chris i have always kept a rucksack with a few essentials. I dont consider myself a prepper by any stretch of the imagination and like you i will stick I will stick it out. However if i need to abandon my home idrather have the bare necessities to get me by until i get sorted. Could very easily get isolated up here in the highlands. Its happened before.3 points

My eldest lass is well integrated here. Speaks Catalan and Spanish and it cheeses me off no end, when she speaks to me in either ? speak in the voice your mam and dad gave ya, I say ?3 points

My kids sound American because a lot of their schooling was international, they have a cultured weird accent which wouldn't fit in on the sunderland estate I was dragged up on,my nephew was born in sunderland yet schooled in Weybridge,he sounds posh, people in sunderland always say he is very well spoken (because he speaks without the need of an interpreter ) accents are funny things3 points

Very valid point my friend, when I moved I went out of the way to apply MY thinking to people living in England to myself living in another mans country. My boy learns Gealic and rightly so, it’s in the carriculum and all the other kids have to do it and it’s the native language so it’s only right he learns it......some othe English incomers kick up a right fuss about it which is totally wrong imho. The culture is also very different, you have to fit in and behave appropriately. If you behaved here like they do in England, no.1 they would think you were mentally ill and no.2 you3 points

Who said that I had not met Whin? Considering our geographical locations, plus our diverse interests,...how would Whin and I,.. ever move in the same circles... There is a wee bit too much assuming, and not enough actual certainty, in this old game methinks... Actually,... I feel as a soft-hearted fellow myself, I should pass on some advice to this much-maligned fellow. I'm not too keen on the bullying he receives from folk,... I feel sure that I can educate him, as to why this is occurring.....2 points

If you're wanting a 200yd rifle then you should be thinking about a hornet in .17 or .22. That said, it becomes an expensive rabbiting tool. Cheapest option is along your current lines combined with some thought as to how you can narrow the distance.2 points

It is what it is mate aint it., too many believe the hype and bullshit, look on this thread people expecting 15 month old pups too catch three out of three late November early December, and why? cos they bred from parents that did? or grandparents that did? or cos they seen some shady clips of named dogs killing multiple hares, so fair does buy one and you can hardly go wrong eh? lmfao if only t was that easy eh pal? Its a real good job the law sees fit too make sure these sort of people legally cant dispose of their own children when they don't shine or do the required tasks lol the2 points
