A much easier time of year with the leaves missing. Full leaf suit tight up against the hedge line behind a none natural hide that I roofed over with more camo hessian and netting Range was 36 yards to 41 yards, the HW 100 KT .177 was faultless6 points

For someone who 'looks' like they have some field experience, as in your avatar there, just me perhaps, but your Q1 surprised me somewhat... What you shooting? Rifle wise... Atb.5 points

For a moochers dog collies make a lot of sense. But when the ground opens a bit, a dash of running dog goes a long way5 points

Had the young dog out again yesterday and he put in a great performance. We entered him in a shallow but biggish place and he had to work to find his quarry which he did on the other side of the hedge,he had traveled about 25yds from where he entered but once he found he never budged and we dug him at 1.2 with 2 in front of him and he working away nicely also knows how to mind himself, for a young pup he is showing good sign that he will make a reliable worker.4 points

Well flooding ain't the best thing in the world when it comes to mink trapping. In fact it can be a nightmare. But flooding don't last forever, and eventually the water subsides. I find this is often a good time to catch mink in numbers, when they begin to return to the rivers after abandoning ship. Managed four mink this morning out of seven traps. And that's after a week or more checking empty traps. I suppose the key factor here is to keep those traps working, no matter what the weather throws at you, so's not to miss an opportunity of a catch. Another thing to keep3 points

A farmer told me where there was a few Rabbits last week so i went early one morning for a look and sure enough i saw about a dozen run to the hedge from the cover of a fallen tree where they had been feeding in the half light , yesterday i took ten traps and a bag of Peat and and had a good look around in daylight , i was surprised to see there was only four holes and they did not look to good though further up the hill was a large well used Badger sett that was also being used by Rabbits i left that be and went back and trapped the four holes i also set four hoops in a well trodden gate3 points

The General had the dog ready for work before it came back to us,we just put the work in front of him, easy when you get them and there ready,he wont be over matched with big deep places but will see plenty of work this season,2 digs to his credit so far and the aim is for around the dozen mark for this season all going well, our mate has a young dog aswell with 1 dig over him so they both will see around the same.3 points

It was a bit of a scruffy one mate , but the dog was being charged and the ground was pretty tough so I was just happy to get down. Note to self, must try harder.3 points

A lot of nonsense is talked on here about Dave Platt and his dogs. He is a genuinely interesting character, and he’s really honest about what he is trying to do - which is to produce what he somewhat eccentrically refers to as an ‘English’ deerhound. His dogs pretty much look the same and have similar temperaments. Essentially smaller more robust deerhound type dogs. Have spoken to a fair few people who own a dog with a ‘Platt’ in it and they all say the same thing - they are incredibly slow to develop but when they do they are big biddable dogs that are really happy to work but aren’t3 points

Out on ale last night which is rare these days for me , was meant to be taking my lad jack out to ferret a bank a couple miles from me but was rough so sacked that idea.. by midday the boredom had set in so decided to have a quick hour out with our new Jill that we’d got off a lad on here and my lurcher gwen .. I’d checked this place earlier in the week and dogs were marking up so netted what we could and left Gwen loose .. couple minutes later we had our first rabbit caught by lurcher.. then a massive rat flew out that didn’t make a yard from hole and a few minutes later another that2 points

I've got the FN19 Skeleton (best part of 20 years old now), very underrated, but they do feel a bit flimsy compared to many (especially that German make). Got a bit of indexing issue these days, can't seem to resolve it myself, anyone know someone good to help? Of yes, I took that clear plastic Falcon sticker off mine the day I bought it, yours seems to have survived well, is it engraved?! Crumbs, 10 years ago, mine is also FAC!2 points

AJ himself said that Tyson is the hardest fight out there for him after saying he'd beat Wilder and Parker. Fury has everything needed to beat AJ movement, skill, speed, ringcraft, engine and his ability to set the distance in a fight is always over looked. When Tyson fought Wlad he never once got to Tyson, never looked in trouble and never looked like losing. When Wlad fought AJ he was able to get to him and when he kept his distance and boxed at range AJ was clueless and Wlad should have stopped him but was more concerned about the hard drive sewn into his gown predicting the result and his bro2 points

Bellew has no hope at all to beat tyson tyson will keep him on the end of his jab all night long and pick him off Tyson signing with mtk is a good thing ? Tyson would never take Eddie offer to directly work with him, Peter, john, Tyson all had issues with Eddie in the past & they wouldlnt back track on their words their prideful men. When/if Tyson boxs AJ it'll make big dough whoever he's with an mtk are a good outfit to do negotiations with Eddie Tyson just needs to have that op on he's throat & then he'll be in the swing of training properly ? Aj is no match fo2 points

Haha Tell me about it, it’s hard work trying to explain it! Yeah man I’m still bringing the pups on been kind of slow this year with work commitments. Certainly got my work cut out for me with 4 now! I took on the extra 2 pups hoping we was going to have a good year but it’s turning out to be a right stinker so far. Lost a farm to a shoot taking over and others well just lacking any form of wildlife at all it seems. So see how it all pans out. Pics below of my old Russell who’s sadly no longer and grandads old bitch and the Lakeland x Russell bitch also.2 points

We had another 3 this morning ourselves flushing 8 in total for about 2 hours hunting. The place we were doing we actually had 11 from it last season on a morning but the cover has gone very thick now and even the swpringers were finding it hard to penetrate at times and the trees have grown to a height that makes shooting near impossible in places but we persevered,at 1 point 2 nice red hinds almost ran me down with my mates young springer hot in pursuit, they will be there for a morning or evening with the rifle,i had to finish early as i had to go to work in the afternoon but an enjoyable mor2 points

Cheers Fatman, wish yous all the best with him hopefully he turns into a good worker for yous, he's forward enough and built for the job. We had his full brother out with us today. He hasn't seen as much as the other dog but he showed a lot of interest and he got to run a few handy places though there was nothing home. Ended up at a place into dark, runaround for a brave while and when we ran out of light a while later it bolted, its there for another day. Took this pic just so you can see how he's shaping up. Thanks again. Atb2 points

There's point a where you are doing what you think is right & then there is taking advantage of a new found freedom & situation to do what you want. Putting a bullet in someone, even as an execution over a pit is one thing, but rape of women & underage girls & needles torture is taking advantage of the freedom to behave like an animal, a monster if you like. I'm still convinced, however naive it may seem, that originally decent people, no matter what the cause or hate in them, wouldn't feel compelled to rape defenceless women or torture a child.
