The weather was favourable today so met up with Chris and his boy to check out some nice ground which we lamp on.We were able to drive into the field and work the hedgerows without having to lump all our gear from field to field. No dogs today so we just started one end and worked our way along the hedges using the long nets.It was going to be a short day so we were happy to end the afternoon with only one dig and 11 in the bag.

  17. Hadn’t been to the golf course for a while and was reminded by the green keeper of the fact yesterday. Popped over for a swift circuit last night with the HW100, lamp, sticks and length of rope (to string them on) for a look about. Overcast, dark with only enough breeze to tell it’s direction. First corner and a rabbit was right in front of me at about 40m. I spent so long getting my my act together it ran in so I practised the routine of getting the airgun up on the sticks again with the lamp off (Its second nature with my centre fire but entirely different with the airgun which doesn’t

  18. Something that most on this thread will not understand is that you are “subjects” ie your are subjected to the will of the Queen and therefore her government. The Americans are “citizens “ and regard themselves as equal to anybody in their government. (at least the ones I know do). They will not surrender their arms because as citizens in a republic they have a “right” to them. As subjects your “rights” are given to you and taken from you at the will of the government.

  23. ... practice, I said I needed to spend some time with the WMR as I was struggling a bit with it the other day. I visited a place with good rabbits and soon got into some good hunting. Off hand squirrel shots from 15-60yds from the same spot was encouraging. Next up was a rabbit. I was above them as they ran into brambles. It took a while but I finally glasses that little black piece of coal, an eye. Next I found a tiny window to squeeze the bullet through. An off hand shot at 50yds or so. The next rabbit was closer and I neck shot it. I found the bullet in

  28. I had a similar thing with one of my terriers, it wasn’t from a flea bite though. She had a intolerance to something so my vet told me to go to boots and buy a bottle of vitamin b complex and put it in her food, it worked a treat. He said he could have prescribed me something expensive that would have done the same job but he’s not out here to fleece people.

  29. Best thing is to take your dog to the vets pal, that way you get your dog treated and peace of mind that you are doing what's best for your dog. Some good folk on here and some that's a waste of time. It looks like a syst to me but I'm no vet. Atb

  39. its a scientific fact the bitch controls the size until birth so no probs, there can be the odd big pup in any litter that can course a problem, one of my cockers had a big pup ended up at the vets, with regard to breading as above only bread from good stock if you cant do that buy in, people in working cockers seem to want certain popular studs' and this leads to everything being closely bred I choose a dog based on ability for my lines not how much red is in his paperwork but there have to be enough different dogs in the blood as well, we all need to breed for quality, I went to the best fie
