I’m sure he was rude and ignorant and horrible to women and all of those things .. but he didn’t give a f@ck what anyone thought of him !!! He was his own person and a character, and I admire that . Too few English eccentrics around now . The media is now run by politically correct Homosexuals, and he didn’t fit in to what they wanted us to watch ... sad .6 points

I've got hearing loss due to gunfire and General high levels of engineering noise over many years. I now use hearing aids due to certain frequency loss. I use various types of ear defenders when on the ranges but I just can't wear them when general shooting such as walked up or driven. The best ear protection that I have found are Bilson soft plugs. They are like a plastic bag filled with cotton wool shaped like ear plugs. They are comfortable for many hours use and the 20 bore sounds like a gentle pop. Hearing damage is a long process that creeps up on you. And then its too late.4 points

How things can change in such a short time. Full of hope at the end of last season. Making progress on the pitch at last. Then news of a takeover. Looking even better! No takeover, Raffa gone, Perez gone, Rondon not signed, the sale of the rest of the "family silver" far more likely than unlikely. The sale of Perez in particular pisses me off. A speculative buy from Spanish 2nd division. An unconventional player. Not a centre forward, not a "number 10", not a winger. But was the nearest thing that we had to attacking talent under various managers that meant he became established in4 points

Beautiful little owl staring into the lens whilst oblivious that an audaciously bold and daring soldier winged beetle risks its life and limb sitting on the the tremendous claws and talons of this bird... Such an easy snack for the little owl, literally at its feet...4 points

Thought I’d share a few images with you guys from a recent trip over to Utah hunting mountain lions, we never got lucky unfortunately but I was still over there chasing dreams regardless of the result so who cares. Plus it led to plenty more opportunities and we should hopefully be headed back over in the new year and with a bit more luck may actually get one. If there’s interest more than happy to discuss the trip and how it panned out but don’t fancy writing it all now at 03:47am without any prompting ?3 points

villaman are you fishing for a bite? a rapid may be old on the outside but modern upgrades will have it match most modern pcp and it WILL outlast the lot of them -fact!3 points

Google, 3M peltor kids, this is what we put on my little mate Hugo, they are only about 15 quid off Amazon, they do adult ones in the peltor range as well but I don’t think they will do the pink ones to fit you ?3 points

Your right it is personal preference. I’ve always found a good dash of collie usually gives a more weather hardy dog, even my short coat collie lurcher was very hardy, but her coat was dense. I’ve a bitch here that is the most weather sensitive dog I’ve ever owned, but once she’s soaked she tends to perk up a bit. i used to work my whippet all weathers....they’ll do it, but they suffer. Regards lamping.......I agree. I also found the whippet to chase more than get on and strike. Great little dogs, but for me a lurcher allows more flexibility in meeting your personal hunting needs.3 points

I was in Hong Kong a week ago ,your right it’s clean and safe but we laid the foundations for that way back,we took what was originally a small fishing village and made it one of the financial powerhouses of the world,I lived there when it was under British rule,it was safe as houses, the Chinese illegal immigrants were always trying to sneak in for a better life because honk Kong Chinese had it good compared to those on the mainland, nowadays it’s incredible, always got a soft spot for honkers, lots of happy memories.3 points

So I was invited over there, very fortunate. Only cost my flight ticket and my spending spree in bass pro. Flew into Cali where I met a friend from France, from there we road tripped to Vegas and spent the night in the Paris casino. Following day had a look around bass pro etc. Before driving through Arizona and ending at camp in Utah. Seen plenty of mule deer on the road and even a dead skunk which I was convinced was someone in the car with weed. Had no idea that’s why skunk is called skunk. Anyway got to camp at midnight and stayed up for a couple of hours before getting a bit of sleep and3 points

great bit of TV, all 3 of the them , got stuck in and had go at this very dangerous type work. most of the time on the boat, they had probs with nets getting stuck, or chains breaking , you get the feeling , it either normal practice etc, or it was poor boat with poor equipment .? and what really surprised me the amount of cod , they had to throw back in the sea, unless in certain area .? But over all very good watching well done CH5 , no way on this earth would i do dangerous job like that , very brave blokes .2 points

If you are intent on buying a Howa, when you go to pick it up get them to bore scope it and show you the inside of the barrel before you pay or put it on your ticket. Especially if it is a blued barrel but stainless ones aren't exempt from the red/brown stuff either. I know the bloke who ceracotes all the Howas and some are a right state to begin with.2 points

I shoot very few foxes past 200 metres, frankly the majority of mine are under 100. Obviously peoples situations/land/experiences are different, but for "most" people, LONG range (200m++++) foxes are the exception rather than the norm!2 points

Whippet sounds perfect for me then, the first sign of cold wet windy weather I’m off home, theres bound to be nicer weather along soon enough for a bit of Ferreting and just to add my expectations are pretty low so I’m never disappointed.2 points

Howa are well known for their Rifle Packages, they can be a reasonable deal if you only have a pretty basic use for the rifle. If you have any desire to stretch the limits forget the deals and buy what you need separately.2 points

Best field rifle ever made. No one can deny longevity and the original, decent unfettled ones still command near on a grand asking price. I doubt many rifles these days will do the same 30 years on from when they were made.2 points

243 in my opinion is misunderstood. Due to dumb deer shooting laws born from "experts" every one used 100+ plus bullets but 243 was designed around 8 0 GRN bullets by Winchester and when used with 70-80 GRN bullets it shines. My last 243 was a vanguard made by howa. It was a light weight with pencil thin barrel, lovely to carry and shot rested and off hand perfectly. The rifling was shallow and very kind on the bullet and it's terminal performance. I use to get some good long shots in with that rifle too.2 points

You have to ask yourself how did, what is to all attempts and purposes, the worlds first ever nation state come to this?.......and how can people vote to keep doing it to themselves ? Have they pride in anything except their own right on, so called tolerant credentials ? Do they never feel that sense of history and historic pride or a duty to preserve something so special ? I can only conclude that millions and millions don’t and I’m afraid I have no affiliation or connection to people like that. Watching Britain (and my area of England) the last 40 odd years has been like2 points
