No chance.. To be put on the "naughty step" at 60 years old on a declining forum for a bit of bickering... he'll think f**k that as would I..10 points

While I agree in principle....I don't actually want many hunting posts....I do plenty and I know other lads do plenty, I'm just not arsed about talking about it on the internet, how much talking can you actually do? I like the fact that thl has lots of lads with generally the same background or at least same outlook on life....we can then have a laugh and moan and blow of steam chatting shite. I enjoy thl how it is9 points

just a update on young whippet, 22 months now, not a big bitch 19tts and 23 pounds. catching quite regularly, rabbit, squirrels, mice etc. marking and hunting up spot on, try her lamping in September. a few setbacks, stitches in chest and had leg stapled, but she's very committed, overall really happy with first whippet.4 points

Understand that mate, got to protect the bit that's left! Lol Thanks, shame you can't make it, 10 years since the first one this year!! Perhaps finding a "home" at the fishery we use now has taken a little away from the Comp road show from before, but the owners make it our place for the weekend and that's hard to find... its still a great do, and over £30k raised over the years... THL has certainly done more good than bad for most of us, met genuine mates and had some great laughs over the years...4 points

I’d rather a pup went to someone like that than most dog men, better than seeing them passed about4 points

Good to see that lads are still debating various subjects,...it kinda gives an old enthusiast a wee bit of hope.....? Back in the day,...I bred several litters of nondescript , roustabout working lurchers... We used a local herding dog which his owners labelled,... a Blue Shag.... I watched the dog working both sheep and cattle, and I liked his style... So, I put him across my honest old mouching/coursing bitch,...Mercedes? Every resulting litter produced amazing looking pups,..and they generally came out extremely heavy coated, blues or Wheaten in colour. Several4 points

Was meant to do something with the diced beef yesterday but the hangover decided I was having a takeaway so knocked a quick stew up in the ninja tonight. I don't think we could manage without the ninja now.3 points

True words,.....I had several, well bred, Race Whippets in the 1980's.... Whilst most of my fellow racers, kept 'on track',...I deviated,...and went in search of Hares..... Caught a few,..but inevitably, fecked up most of my runners.... I cant even plead the folly of youth,..I was not a young kid,...just too keen on the hunt.... But, you live and learn,..unfortunately to the cost of your poor old jukels.....?3 points

This all reminds me of an old friend of my Father's. Not a cabin, but a cottage, out in the middle of nowhere. Back in the 90's, my father used to do a lot of hunting, and fishing, and got in with this boyo that lived in an old cottage on the banks of the river Shannon. It was a very old house, probably his home house, where he grew up. Maybe his grandparents house. Now, we are talking 1990's, not 1920's, but this place looked and felt like you were stepping into another era. Big open fire with an old crane for cooking over. No electricity, so no fridge. Gas lighting, powdered mil3 points

Physio sorted mine and gave me a few exercises to do whenever it flares back up. Tried dry needling (a bit like acupuncture) as well, but didnt find it much use. Doctor originally told me total rest and wait it out but after 6 months it was murder and I couldn't even pick up a cup of tea without pain. Physio sorted it in about 4 weeks.2 points

You would be throwing money after money trying to fight any woodland living, bad enough on a field . It is a lovely idea , I’ve often thought a nice clearing in the woods with a log cabin, fire on the go, a track weaving it’s way threw the trees. Just a dream I’m afraid2 points

Have had tennis elbow on and off for 20 years, joiner by trade and swinging a 20oz eastwing all day was the cause and the only thing that gives me any relief is the arm band, strange thing about tennis elbow for me is I could of been suffering for months and just get up one morning and it's gone.2 points

Its only my opinion after reading about them on some of the Facebook pages but he seems to be cornering the market for folks who are worlds apart from some of the rouges and ner do wells known for keeping lurchers about them and more for the upper class folk who love the country shows and have moved from city's to live in the countryside if they are biddable and easy to live with lurchers then i don't think he will struggle to find homes for them from folk who won't get rid of them the first thing time they do something wrong.2 points

I lived in statics on our little farm in Kent when I was a kid. We still retained a house in London but out of the two the caravan was the place I’d rather be, it was magical and the best childhood a kid could have. I’d say, if a static means you can live in a decent place free of being a slave to banks and officials raiding your pocket, if it means your kids don’t have to live in a shithole town that is hell bent on entertaining and emulating the 3rd world…..then living in one is the very definition of sanity ?2 points

Another one I forgot: I was spending between £2 and £4 each week on Tea Bags. I bought a small teapot in a charity shop for 50p, and have gone over to loose tea. It's a nicer cup of tea, and a £1.50 bag of tea leaves lasts me about 4 weeks.2 points
