There are quite a lot of single lonely people living on the boats and on new year I will do a massive beef joint in the slow cooker loads of bread rolls get a fire pit going on the grass and invite them all out, did the same last year had 17 people out some will bring pots of roasters some alcohol and some nothing but everyone had a great night with the maddest mix of people I’ve ever seen from hells angels to drag artists and everything in between, ??11 points

Ok so the chicken shed saga isn’t quite over yet .The losses from a while back pale into insignificance when faced with 475 dead chickens all killed not suffocated. .I’m starting to think that one fox does the hard work by digging under and killing a few then others join in the kill at will afterwards because nearly 500 kills is ridiculous for one fox surely Anyway last night after several fruitless forays in the freezing weather while back and twarted by rain and fog ,last night the stars aligned perfectly and myself and a mate spent from 9pm to 2.30 am at the farm just stood ,rifles on stic5 points

We're having goose again this year. Last one we had was 5 years ago. At the time, our now 15 year old lad was 10. I put the goose in the oven to slow 'ish' cook for a few hours, at 9 pm. The mrs went to bed early, 9.30 ish, so I think 'I'll have a couple of festive glasses of red wine". Son gets up to go to the toilet about 10.30, and sees me with a glass of wine, watching tv. After a while I go check see how the goose is coming along, only to find the oven turned off, and the goose cold and very uncooked!! Puzzled, I sort it out and put the goose back on to cook, ad5 points

Another shoot today but just a short morning affair, very pleasant all the same. I let my grandson shoot today and to be honest I have seen him shoot a lot better but he really enjoyed it anyway. He only managed a duck and a pheasant. I am going to get him to the clay ground for some coaching to iron out his problem. Total bag was 38 head. Of which there was 18 mallard, 14 pheasants, 2 Teal, 3 partridge and a really big nice pigeon that my ferret has had for Christmas dinner a day early.4 points

Me and Mills had been looking for a gap just before Christmas to get out; finding a break in the weather and schedules wasn't easy though. I text him and asked if he was free in about 2 hours and it was game on; a few rigs ( with Limitless Sea Fishing LTD 3/0 Avenja xts on the business end with a chinu as pennel for myself) , weights and 30 frozen prawn between us. All set up and baits in the water; mills took the slack out of his rod once he thought it had settled in the tide and then it went slack again. He tightened it up again but it just dropped more slack so he picked it up a3 points

Just been in the garden and laid Celt to rest. 15 and half and been my best mate for all that time. Was surprising what this lad could do, ferreting, lamping, work with the gun etc etc. A desperation mating with my old digging terrier and my 3/4 collie grey as the dog I wanted to cover her couldn't do it but my terrier could! I had the mother scanned and if she had been coming with a belly full I would probably have aborted them but the vet said 3 or 4 so I let the birth happen. We've had some adventures, plenty of which I couldn't post on here. Celt was the last one still3 points

Well l had my Daughter and the Grandchildren ,well the three Grand teenagers , over last night .It's a bit of an annual pre Christmas thingy . First time l ever provided more food than they could eat. They brought their dog which was fine until she decided playing card games would be more exciting for everyone if she jumped on the table .? It seems that eldest Grandchild thought it fitting to repay my hospitality by making me subject to an amusing feature on her phone. All great fun! I wish you all a good Chrismas and New Year.??️??3 points

I’m flat out over Xmas working in the emergency social work team… however for the first time in years I’ve got Xmas day off. Home with the Mrs, will take the dogs up the common early morning to give them a good run out, might chase a hare like they did last year , … I shouldn’t laugh they’re bloody spaniels… then back home to cook a goose and all the veg. One of our mates was due to go back to Ireland but her plans collapsed last minute so we’re dragging her over to our house as we won’t have her spend Xmas home alone.3 points

I,m both, men only get to borrow hair on there head for a certain length of time, after 20 ,30 ,40 years it retreats back into your head and comes out of every hole in your body, from earhole to arsehole, I now just stick a lighter up my nose and have a small controlled fire rather than try and keep pulling these inch long hairs out that appear overnight, I also find it hilarious and very pathetic when men still try to cling to a failing hairline like some old tart, I recon we have a comb over or two on here myself, mentioning no names ???3 points

Midmorning my lad and his wife will visit open presents that wifey has spoilt them with I don't mind. Then the sad bit we will go up to our only granddaughters grave that we lost 20 months ago leave flowers and a wreath I've started to make. Lad and his wife still taking it hard at times it was a very rare genetic thing so no more grandchildren unless they adopt. I won't pressure them. The bar across the middle will com3 points
