Had a really rough (not so)fat lamb yesterday. Dosed it with all sorts. This morning I spied it flat out, crow pecking at it but lamb still kicking at it. Raced over to fucķ the crow off. Brought lamb in, stood it up (held it up for 25 minutes) & wedged with a bale. Electrolytes & fresh ivy sprigs (proper old school country ways). Not out of woods yet but as of half 8 tonight he's looking better

"Arab" wasn't Saluki, but the name, as you say, added to the confusion. Ask ten different Ozzie dog lads their opinion and you'll likely get ten different answers. I tend to shy away from the saluki theory, as how many Salukis were available back then, compared to greyhounds ? Second day at our shoot today. The birds flew well considering the weather ( bright sun and next to no wind). We finished up on 63 head, i killed 6 mallard 5 pheasants and the only partridge of the day. One of the cock pheasants was a white one which incurs a fine but i don't care because it was a really good bird.

I would take as many pictures/videos as I could and make as much money out of the whole affair as possible. I wore loads while in hunt service or gamekeeping but only because I got it free from friends and family and I couldn't afford anything else....but I'd only ever wear one piece of it at a time. Camo coat or trousers but never both.....full military camo makes you look like a Walt.

Speaking personally, wearing camo gear, especially when lamping, ensured my safety a tad more, from disgruntled, gun toting farmers etc, whilst using a bit of cover to conceal oneself.

I wear camo' trousers when mole trapping. Nothing to do with hiding from the moles, more to do with muck not showing up as much on my trousers. And as has been said; camo' stuff is often cheap and durable. The miltary smocks are ideal for country sports having good strong zips, loads of pockets and rip proof material.
