This is what I call the marital life boat. When things are good it's a nice thing to hang out in, when things are stormy I can escape into it. In truly terrible storms it can be towed away but I now have it tucked up somewhere I doubt I'll ever move it from. I built it during a particularly stormy time and lived in it for 18 months til the weather cleared. I will never be without it or something similar.15 points

Worked for a nice lady last week...didn't get diagnosed until she was 38 yr old... sitting and listening to her experiences growing up and how she felt touched a nerve if I'm honest...the more people we speak and listen too who care for someone with autism... the more We have realized that our youngest lad may have it.. he has some very quirky habits..will get him tested when this nonsense covid calms down? In regards to Packham...I believe he plays on it to further his own agenda ..and I also don't believe it's doing us any good loose cannon's terrorising him at home? damage is d8 points

Wilf you seem to be making a lot of excuses for people’s actions recently, I’m of the thinking that if something doesn’t effect me or my family why should I try to ban it. Vegans, anti hunt, gays, trannys, packhams don’t bother me until they start ramming thier agenda down ya gullet.Asperger or not don’t ruin people’s incomes or traditions that’s not right8 points

Cheers lads, just had it outside to see if it would fly. Seems to be able to glide and land but don’t seem to have the energy to keep going. Not eaten anything but on a perch and alert so we will see what the morning brings. No shoots or anything round here and so it just seems wrong not to at least have a go at getting such a lovely creature up and running again.6 points

Wilf they will eat most things,worms,carrion,roadkill..they get tame very easy,we used to nest them as kids and feed them up..they used to follow us to school and sit outside till home time??6 points

Tried a pm mate but basically it was always feel free to give me a shout and ask anything and if I can help I will. I’m no expert but sometimes it’s handy to have people who know what the craic is, there’s a couple of lads on here and they are top lads to chat too about it ?5 points

Still loads of insects, spiders beat wheat any day for pheasants! Had to turn a fat lamb over the other day. Fortunately I got there before the crows. Tonight I sniped at said crows and eventually ended up with Beaky! Meet Beaky, looks like we've met before, maybe!5 points

I think you have to understand what is happening in the UK and England in particular. We are a small over crowded island and enough people to fill a medium sized city are brought in each year. My local town has gone from being a typical Lancashire town to being a 3rd world hell hole in 20 years. It was an English town where we got along with other people as well as anyone can....now, except for the Catholic schools, every single school is majority non white with English not the first language. Please don't ever think the words spoken on here are driven by racism or hatred. They are often5 points

I’ve got a tunnel trap by one of the feeders near a partridge pen and it’s been accounting for a fair bit of vermin, rats , a few squirrels and two stoats and this morning a Jill polecat. I think I saw this one in the headlights of the mule the other morning when I was feeding. Glad to see the back of it .5 points

Well the first day happened Saturday, and it was shirtsleeves and sunglasses. The first drive went well and they shot 59 , and I was thinking, I’m going to be blowing up early on all the others. But it was so hot and sunny the birds were not flying into the sun and a lot were just dipping, I was flushing birds and waiting for the shots and there was none . I radioed the boss to see what was happening and he explained about how the birds were dipping. We got the bag , but it wasn’t the east day I had hoped for . Every keeper I spoke to had the same problem, birds everywhere except w5 points

My daughter rescued a kestrel years ago. We fed it on minced chicken, beef, etc until it was ready to tackle whole quail. It became very tame and took to the hood and glove easily. I had a big aviary built for it and we had it a lot of years, till it died, probably of old age. Cheers.5 points

Not all autism is equal mate. Most think on a higher level than normal but only about a few things. Severity, implication etc is completely individual.4 points

Been with autistic kids when was with the ex , Think I’ve Got fair knowledge and experience on Autism an behavioural problems and personally I think he knows what’s he’s doing an also using spring watch as a way of forcing his agenda onto the public . Him and bill oddity are no different than the kranks that spout their ill informed on fb an the internet . The likes of David Bellamy and if he was still alive jack hargreaves won’t/wouldn’t be allowed Uk airtime !4 points

First off, I have no concept of America and it’s racial problems or why they exist. Unlike us, you didn’t ask to go to the USA, you got taken there so it’s fundamentally different in that regards. You have also been there as long as any other American so again, fundamentally different. The Klan come across as the kind of organisation you dont have to pass an IQ test to get into. What the video does explain well is that you don’t have to hate anyone or wish them harm to hold a conviction about something……the Klan bloke didn’t hate the black bloke and vice versa. What you say there is matching up mate, seemed like a young bird when you see they have just left the nest. I have just never seen a raptor like it before. Have done everything you suggest there, dark, warm, access to food and water and a perch….looking perky so fingers crossed cheers mate ?4 points

f**k him, but truth be told f**k us, because that'll be what happens after stuff like this. It's true enough that hardly anyone will give this any notice but a few more will be swayed against us and not one will be turned in favour.4 points

Fukk these places that'll beg for your hard earned, in donations, then pick and choose what they'll rescue! First thing is to get it weighed, mate. Wants to be about the 900g or so. Can be as low as 525, 'mind. Either way, ye not gonna be flying it at worms just yet. So, err on the bulking it up side for now. I'd be checking into any possible grit requirements too. Google for that. Good luck to the pair of ye.4 points

Well I didn't need telling twice, the wife was painting and wanted me out the house ? so off with the shotgun in search of vermin. Shot a right porker of a squirrel who had been eating well in readiness for winter. 5 squizzers and 4 magpies, happy with that ?4 points

Completely forgot to update on the big lad.. Managed to get his weight up proper and have had him on this dr john feed for the past week or two. The nu-stock worked well on the patch on his tail so far as the dry skin, but hair growth has been minimal. Got one of his thighs back to looking decent, and the other has got worse.. I rate he's just a bit broken bless him, haha. That said, I think his condition and coat have come on loads, especially this past couple weeks since we've been out tackling proper night time quarry. We keep at it! Thanks for all the advice fellas.4 points

Gave my mate Arry a call, and got out for the day. I had some sloes in mind as wanted to knock up some gin for Christmas, we found plenty and I received some education on finding and recognising fungi , had chanterelles , field mushroom and hen of the woods and some bonus wild plums , in stunning scenery, along with the busher having a day of flushing pheasants. All in all a great day in great company , cheers Arry. Pic heavy...3 points

Mine was advertised as greyhound x springer, but it wasn’t, definitely a smooth haired lurcher, i think there will have been a smidgen of bull and god knows what else in there. It was an accidental mating with a game keepers bitch springer. She’s lovely natures dog, very soft.....too soft mouthed for squirrels really...she can’t half hunt though...and she’s clever with it too.3 points

No. I'm actually perfectly serious. If anyone wants to set up a bar? I have a pair of stainless steel, 'conical' fermenters, to brew kits in. I then have a three foot bottle of gas. Regulator. Four Cornie Kegs. All the pipes and adaptors. Hand made, stainless steel engine. Perlick tap and a fitted drip tray. Never been made wet. Ready to go and be installed. Basically; Just add beer and serve!3 points

Funny enough, had a little Hargreaves binge watch yesterday, mostly on the Stow horse fair, used to love it as a kid, Great Britain has some rich culture that is probably unfortunately very watered down due to the size that towns and cities are these days. Ill do my bit with my sons to expose them to our 'olde country'.3 points
