Really like my young Collie bitch, 19 1/2” and 14 months. Been doing great ferreting, very biddable, sensible, great marker, also started marking moles. Can stop on hares, I don’t want her running them as I am trapping next to roads a lot. Fantastic little bitch, so pleased I went for another Collie. This is my second collie for ferreting, the other bitch was 20yrs back, had beddy whippet types for a few years and also terriers of different breeds up to 40yrs back, my old collie was my best ferreting dog but I won’t be surprised if this one doesn’t top her. I’m rather surprised that collies a7 points

The wife suggested if I was bored during lockdown, to make a bird table. Now she's kicking off because I only put her in fifth place. went for a walk with a beautiful girl today. Then she noticed me, so we went for a run. If anybody wants a copy of Osteopath Weekly I have back issues. Cheers, D.6 points

Know the feeling with running a dog on that kind of ground. That sort of ground is 'Ground' to talk about, real heart in mouth sort of stuff. You need a strong boned, fast but well built dog for that kind of terrain. It's a whole different world this kind of terrain in comparison to any big open fields or fens. Real hunting in my opinion ?5 points

Not being nasty mC HULL but did that hare have the flu or something, the rabbits over here are faster than that. ?5 points

that is so true ,no ones interested in chasing them ,ferreting to dogs or net ,they would rather chase bigger game animals so landowners for 99% of the time have to pay .A mate who came out here from wales by the name of billy Barton now makes his living chasing rabbits ,he relayed to me it was like living a dream & he had to poke himself to make sure that it wasn't .5 points

There’s more to life than money. Did a favour for someone recently, saw them today and got given a nice big chunk of ribeye, dinner for two folk and same of t-bone, fresh cut, off cows that spend their live wandering the new forest. And I just went and dropped off two lambs in half lambs to my neighbours and a couple Other folk who live near who have to put up with the barking dogs and me coming back from lamping in early hours and making a racket. Got some fencing to do Monday, in exchange for some good digging etc. Nothing asked for but stuff always offered it good folk. It’s way of the coun4 points

Just lined my bitch to keep a pup back for myself. A couple are spoken for the rest are spare. I will only be charging £200 a pup. If she has taken. Sire bull grey (10 year old) Dam collie bull grey (6 year old)4 points

Funny reading this, had an argument with a mate today, trying to get him to take some money for a very smart pup im getting in three weeks, seven pups in litter, lads keeping two, rest gifted. His words “I’d be offended at you giving me money mate”. So I’ll sort some meds for the dogs etc.4 points

That’s because some people get a price they want to pay in there head and think feck him that’s what he wanted and that’s all he’s getting,my mate has just sold all his deerhound greyhound x whippet pups for £450 on the website and his phone never stopped.A lad on here and his pal got 1 each even though a member on here said his mate had a litter of beddy whippet greyhounds what the lad had just lost and wanted to replace. The lad was quoted a £1000 a pup that’s why I say there is lads on here charging the top dollar what they are going for on pets4homes but won’t admit it when a thread like th4 points

Admittedly, I chucked the man who breed my pup 400 notes which I didn't have too. He let me come see dam n sire move about, then drove over 4 hours to meet me when pup ready. He sorted first injections, microchipped and wormed. Gave me a vial to give pup second jab (chucked straight away as don't trust myself doing it) and some kibble he was using to wean off pup. He could of happily made 800 plus selling to a pet home, he didn't ask for what I gave, it was fair to chuck him what I did in my honest opinion. If a man spends time, energy and pound notes on ensuring a pup is correct, why do4 points

people will pay the inflated price because majority of pups go to pet homes. working homes are the minority now......jemima and Johnny love a lurcher to acompany there barbour and hunter wellies.4 points

If they could encourage all the fat Maoris to hunt and eat rabbit instead of pig everyone would be a winner, less rabbits, healthier maori. I have a couple of maori mates, luckily they don't come on here. lol.4 points

been trawling the various lurcher for sale sites these last few weeks, prices are an absolute joke, dont think they will ever go back to ordinary working mans prices , same pups holding same manic prices week after week, are the dog pounds filling up yet, surely all these dogs will not sell for the prices these peddlars are asking,i know to rear a litter properly it costs a few bob, but lock down certainly sent the dog world mental, whats your views lads and lasses.3 points

My first proper running dog was a whippet. I got taken out by a guy on here once ten year ago and had a bight out with his dogs and that set me on the path to what I do now, although I don’t think he will know that.3 points

So describe or explain being connected ? I came into this with no mates with Lurchers and no back ground in it. I didn’t know anyone with a running dog before I got one really. I’d met one traveller lad and he had a coursing bitch and I went out with him a couple Of times after chatting to him on here. I was hooked, went out with a few more lads and made some good friends off here who I am very close to abs go out a lot with 10-12 years later. I met a young lad recently who’s mad keen on digging, had a bit of bad luck and been screwed around and over by folk. Two of my mates are gift3 points

Its never been easier to eat cleanly on the move most of the lads down here use one of the pre made delivery mobs....if money isnt too much of an issue just use Gymfood.....either phone them up or do it online they use Uber eats and Deliveroo so everythings done for you they even tailor your meals to your training bulking/maintenance etc theres one in Bethnal Green, one near Holloway Rd,one over Battersea somewhere....or Musclefood are another mob a bit cheaper.3 points

Well, after struggling with some two piece adapters I’ve got a one piece rail to mount the Yukon. I decided to fit it to a different rifle. Not ideal today, as it was a bit too sunny to be ideal. However, with the lens cover on I managed a fair group at fifty yards. Moved back to seventy yards and it was difficult to be precise due to low magnification and brightness. Despite this, the eley‘s we’re grouping around an inch at seventy yards. Pictures at fifty and seventy. Thanks again to smithie for your generosity ?3 points

If we want to talk about power projection then it's noteworthy that last year the UK climbed the GDP world ranking ladder back to fifth place, we have returned to the premier league of military power projection and we retain our 3rd place soft power ranking. Countries f****d clearly, oh to be a cog in the mighty empire...3 points

People invest in things that have a future, they invest in places that want to believe in themselves. Or....... They stick money into places that want to whore themselves to the highest bidder then take their profits and check out. You political philosophy has created fertile ground for the latter of the above situations. You wanted a nation where nobody gives a shit about each other or the soil beneath their feet, a base instinct place where corrupt politicians f**k the people over daily to feather their own nest.......in short you wanted Africa and you got it, look in the3 points

I remember about 30 years ago, walking from Tokaroa to my relatives house about a mile or so out of town one evening and the fields were just like that video, absolutely heaving with rabbits ! I said to my brother in law, "if I had one of my dogs here with me, I'd be over the fence, have half a dozen rabbits, and be away before anyone saw me ! " He replied " go in the pub and ask if anyone wants rabbits clearing, and the farmers will pay you to kill as many as you want !" I remember thinking how different it was back home ! Cheers.3 points

So let me get this straight. The UK produces a vaccine at like $4 a shot in the same time frame that everyone else did who are paying factors more for their home grown vaccines per shot but the UK is shit because the bigger economies naturally got better deals on our vaccine. LOL Of course funding in an emergency is dominated by government funding.... It's not an emergency anymore and private industry is now up and running with it. Well, until the world bins IP rights.2 points

After about twenty odd years of only ever getting the initial jabs and one booster, I changed my policy last year. I'd always believed all the anti-jab advice when it came to dogs but realized I was in favour of it when it came to my kids. I then watched a feature on herd immunity on Operation Ouch (my kids love watching it, it's like full on no holds barred gory body talk on CBBC) and decided to go back to my vet and ask for more details about jabs etc. He told me that things have moved on a lot since a few years ago, when we were all advised to jab them for everything every year. He went on2 points

It’s a very interesting subject and rewarding too if you are into that sort of thing mate. You build nature up not rip it too bits like modern factory farming. You restore the soil, you restore the environment, you restore the wildlife and every thing works in harmony with each other......it’s also probably the only way a small farm can be viable and pay for itself.2 points
