Busher put this one out in front of the lurcher on bit hard old rough ground, never seen let alone caught one like it round here before. Onto the grass fields and spotted few mushrooms, another first, iv never seen a field mushroom that size. So dogs exercised and dinner sorted, can't be bad eh.6 points

Took a fantastic flight in a 1939 Bi-plane up the Gatineau river earlier, stunning autumnal colours from the forest below, headed back to Ottawa and flew over Canadian parliament,I will stick a few pics up when I have time, really nice day.5 points

Had another mooch around the farm last night with Stavross. Stav with the 22 and me with the 17. Managed to get the new scope zeroed on the T1X the other day so gave it a run out and it performed really well. the farmer seems to be happy with the amount of crop munchers im clearing off the land, my boundaries are getting bigger every time. Took another 5 off last night. That’s nearly 30 now in roughly 7 weeks. Stavs jaws dropped when he spotted 3 foxes in one field and then one walked straight past us at 25 yards, looked, then just carried on without a care in the world?.5 points

The woodcock season and migration runs a little differently, here. They are on the move, now. By mid-Nov they will be gone, having moved further south to their wintering grounds. The last two days I have gotten in to them good. Tough to kill, living in the really thick, young saplings, but fun to try. We moved 48 yesterday and today. I managed to put 4 in the bag.4 points

First outing for this year's kits, 3 in the bag and 1 escapee wasn't bad, but not as many as I'd have expected. Could the fields being mowed the previous day encourage the resident bunnies to drift next door to more undisturbed warrens?4 points

All these grooming gangs that were allowed to get away with it for so long are another by product of the labour party's conditions on buying votes from an ethnic minority.4 points

Just watched a program on Bigfoot by a guy called Todd standing,Canada’s foremost expert on Bigfoot,he is talking about alpha males Bigfoot tribe movement etc, showing Bigfoot lookout positions on top of mountains, showed a black “Bigfoot” hand steal three apples, there’s growling from three approaching Bigfoot in the dark to which he replies “Easy fella” in a low soothing voice, the program smacks of desperation,he estimates a population of 15000 Squatch. He has almost daily interaction with them and has 2 pieces of footage, one shows whats clearly a guy in a monkey suit running across a slope,the3 points

At long last I got to get out at first light for a full morning of walking and hunting. What a beautiful day. Took a crow off the wing and a Maggie. As a shot gun the little .45 punches well above it's weight. Running out of shot on crows I firked a ball out and shot a 20yd squirrel to end a glorious morning. Plenty of pheasants about too and I think another fox is about too! U.3 points

Postie, this one took 4 weeks to catch. Very small garden bordered on 3 sides by a brick wall. He'd been operating next door where there was no permission to trap, and only making occasional raids on my customers lawn via, I assume, a fault or tunnel somewhere in the wall footing. As previously stated in this thread he was a real devious trap avoider and his demise was down to dumb luck on my part. This putangue was set vertically in a tunnel that went straight down, about eight inches below the turf. When I pulled it out, I was bemused to find the mole in this position until further inve3 points

Kids mum sent this pic, story is his friend Parents has a farm asked if he wanted duck to eat so when she went to collect it he asked her which one she wanted as they were still in the pen ? so apparently after watching a YouTube video hes out in the back garden with a knife I gave him butchering it.2 points

I`ve been buying pellets in bulk order for a few years now, they all arrive, 5000 a time, carrying the same batch number, all made by the same dye/ cast, rather than differing batches. Not sure if any of you lads weigh your pellets, ( i don`t ) but i read a very interesting article about a pretty thorough chap, new to Hunter Field Target disciplines. He weighed all 500 JSB Exacts with a nominal weight of 8.44g. Weight. ( grain ) Quantity.2 points

I think it’s outrageous I’m not aloud to clear them foxes up, all because some trumpet blower wants to go bombing around on his trusty steed, terrorising the countryside ?2 points

Mate you will always get lots of advice on were your going wrong, from folk that like to follow rules and regs, I have an old Gas bottle with a door cut in it and a flue I made from five combi flues stuck together with jubilee clips in my wooden shed, I was informed it would burn the shed down, the rivets I attached the door hinges would melt and a plague of locust would turn my veg patch to dust, well I sit in my shed with the burner going most nights and still no problems, have built a small surround from an Ali road sign I cut up, the flue goes straight out the back and the wood around it g2 points

Morning Guys, I bought the .17 HMR variant at the weekend and got to say I am very impressed, put it next to a CZ455 and in my opinion the T1X was leagues above, short throw bolt is like butter and the single stage trigger breaks like glass. I'm very happy with it, and if I recall, it's cheaper than the CZ, though I may be wrong.2 points

Isn't that how nostalgia works, mate? Is the problem any worse or is it just more 'newsworthy' now that society is attempting to shift it's attitude? I'm not attempting to trivialise the issue in any shape or form but it seems that the constant bombardment from the 24/7/365 news culture is either highlighting what was already a problem or making it seem like it's happening on every street in every town in the nation. If you look at the attitudes over the previous generations cat calling and groping have gone from casual banter to sexual assault.2 points

Had a little trip out this morning. I have not been doing as much of anythong as i should so decided to make an effort. Up at 5.30 for a feed, drink and get the gun ready.. off to mcdonalds for another feed and away we go I was early so had to wait for the daylight.. turns out the farmer was waiting for the same thing. It seemed like he was waiting on me to take the fun out the slip before he fired up the old quad He skipped around moving lecky fences and scareing the rabbits down the holes so i was not going to win today but as i wasnthere it would be rude not to have a look.2 points

Yeah I built it after my canvas bell tent got flattened by that heavy snow last winter and to be honest the tent was up at least 18 months and was starting to go mouldy even after being retreated so I’ve taken it down now for this winter so I’ll be camping in the pallet house or my old caravan for the winter its great I’ve got an old canvas hammock that hangs just in front of the burner so I can just put an arm out and chuck a log or two in without having to get up ??2 points

Popped over to the perm last night for a play with the photon, couple of missed opportunity's, but the moon being out didn't help casting shadows everywhere and I was lit up like a beacon, but I did manage this 40yarder which I got on video too haha.. Liking the photon, just need to practice my stealth mode as I'm too noisy and clumsy haha..2 points
