went after the reds on 29th sep got to my spot early at 6am so my mate could get into another spot early. i had round hour and half before it was light enough to start to hunt, i could hear 4 stags roaring so was exited. as soon as it started to brighten up i started to stalk in, its round 2 km to the back of this property. not long after it got bright the stags stopped roaring but i layed down on top of a hill and let out 1 roar through a 1.25 ltr coke bottle, i got a reply immediatly and he was close round 400 hundred yrds. within 2 mins this fella appeared out of the trees at round 300 yrds

Not used one, actually not even seen one yet, but I have every expectation, it being a Tikka, it will be pretty reasonable. Starting price is still £100-£150 ABOVE CZ and I'll bet it will be no more reliable, no more accurate and no more repeatable, so it will have an uphill job to establish itself. I have no doubt it may be well made, use half decent wood/plastic, and some may suggest it looks better, but I'll be amazed if it performs any better. Some may well be prepared to pay the extra for aesthetics and why not, but my CZ's do the job just fine, they lack NOTHING for me

Day out with mate who shepherds on a fell , he had been seeing good few foxes about , first spot we struck 2 close to each other , one made good his escape using a river bank to his advantage, gun could only see his ears , other ran straight down the wood and a gun got him at the bottom .second spot produced 1 , was a hell of s hunt but he used all the marsh and was only seen a couple of times.

Digging bars or T-pieces? They do two different jobs. A good pinch bar does the job for digging tough ground, but I reckon if you had a roundmouth, a sharp tooth and a long handled graft there's not many places that you couldn't tackle without the need for a bar.

It's nice to read of someone with a Border and intending to do some work with it. As you are probably aware, Borders have a reputation for being sensitive and slow starters. In my admittedly limited personal experience of the breed I have found them to be no different to any other terrier.
