  1. On our last trip to this piece of land we left a rather large well established warren alone due to not having enough nets, so this time armed with 400 yrds of longnets, stopnets, a few purse nets 2 boxes of ferrets we were more than ready to do battle this morning, on arriving at said destination, disaster!!!!! A herd of cattle with calf’s and a rather large bull had been turned out into the field, so with that out of the question we crossed the track and into the opposite fields, here we went our separate ways, it was a slow start picking 2s &3s then I had 5 from one warren with a shallow

He broke a bone in his wrist Ross,he took a beast & all 81lb of himself at full speed into a deep narrow ditch,he was so lame he couldn't even put his leg on the ground for nigh on 9 months,he's basically got 3 good legs & a club foot,a dogs foot should be able to bend from it's wrist back onto its own leg, this one doesn't even make 90° let alone 180° as they should do,he's in no pain, the bone has fused & calloused over,i wouldn't ever intentionally slip him on small stuff anymore,he is still catching & has done again today,he is 6 tomorrow & if he can get through this seas

  7. was chatting to a mate yesterday and informed him i PTS my kelpie x last week and i was thinking of looking for a replacement in time ,,he was telling me of a neighbouring farmer friend that has a working collie ,,herds sheep off the hill alone and works cattle as well..he then told me the same man lamps with the collie too and it has in the past caught and KILLED fox single handed ..he has attended lots of digs where the terriers were excavated and they let the collie draw the fox and it finished the job...he has caught rabbits in the pitch dark,,when out with the owner and hunts cover afte

  10. ive only smacked my boys arse a few times when he was younger. .it worked a treat just like it did for me when i was a kid. its not explosive anger its a shock treatment to angle them away from certain situations. my boy is 8 and doesnt fear me one bit, but he knows theirs boundaries hese never allowed to cross or theirs consequenses. i wont have spitefullness , nastyness or bulliying attitudes from my kids and he knows it. hese had a red arse before and doesnt ever want it again . so his behaviour will adjust to avoid those situations. my boy worships me , hese only 8 but to him im the best f

  19. Hi guys I haven't been on this section in a while as its not been showing up on my phone for months much to my dissappointment. Well it has loaded up tonight so while it's here I'm just going to share some of what I've had the last few weeks. Thanks all. Using 12mm steels and baby beans as my ammo these days.

  20. On my tod down in Dorset this weekend to work on the cull at my new permission which surrounds the 12 acre patch I started with 10 years ago. I was in my old high seat at 6 to be ready for dawn. There has been some muted whistling first thing but it’s still a little early for the rut here. When it was light enough to see the reticule I decided on a quiet stroll alone the tracks and rides towards where the sound came from. After a few hundred yards I had the feeling I was being watched. Scanning with the bins I saw something that looked like two white antlers tips. Rubbing my eyes

  21. Well for the past week I've been baiting up a swim on our local river for some elusive big chub. All set last night and set-up for 9pm. Was looking good then twenty minutes later a chap and his son with the brightest headtorch in all the world gatecrashes the swim not knowing I'm there as they look for the fish. Well that was game over so this evening I opted for a peaceful two hours up at the copse, or so I hoped. Set up in my usual place hoping for some pigeons. Soon a magpie came in when I took him out all hell broke loose as up to another eight magpies came swooping in to mob their fa

Would have been nice , sadly nice don’t cut the mustard in F1..no show of elation from Hamilton as he knows it was gifted but every team would have done the same and every driver would be expected to do likewise .Had it been a fight between Hamilton and Botas for the champions I asume it would be every man for himself , sadly Botas winning would only have helped Vettal .

Quite funny in anther way as these little pricks walking round feeling invincible are a direct result of the limp wristed left wing must,nt slap your children bla bla bla tree hugging Sandle and sock wearing liberal twats that have hijacked society removed any line that should,nt be crossed, stolen every parents right to give there own kid a smack and enforced there thinking on the less well educated on how to rear your feral child on a council estate, were as if someone came out and issued a good smack in the mouth to the said offender he would think before he done it again, the lefties are

  31. I moved a fenn into a big tree opening I found and had a young squirrel yesterday evening checking them the second time of the day. I also had my second snared squirrel on a log I put up about a week ago. I checked again this morning and the same snare was chewed off so either it was pulled off by a fox or he chewed off, but I'm getting there. I've made the loop alot bigger, one thing I did was on my first catch, held the squirrel to my other snares and the noose was way too small. I have my dads funeral today but hopefully I'll have a catch later this evening. Two weeks of missed catches but

  33. Got chance to test Gavs balls this afternoon! That sounds all wrong!! The balls Gav kindly cast and sent me I mean. I used an old sign that's lay in the grass for years. Take a look and I will explain. I was aiming for the P at 30yds. The two shots close to the P and the shot just above them two were the best load chain today. The high one was the aiming, I was seeing to much barrel and the following two responded perfectly to my adjusted hold. The other three were a different load and unsatisfactory. In saying that the sign easily represents a small deers c

Trish was pleased to see you lot as well. I spilt coffee all overnight myself and my wife................That went down well. I really loved the new HW110 k and what luck, so did Trish ooooh that's handy. Very nice to shoulder and will make a cracking ratter although the boys didn't much like it. Look forward to seeing the boys next time. Phil

  43. They taste good, pretty mild to be honest so you could do your own seasoning to taste. Good lean meat though like a small rabbit. So I put a fenn in an oak three days ago and had my second catch there today. Other three fenns have been up over two weeks and no catches so going to have to move them I think. Snares still getting pulled though had three pulled but no catch so maybe they need to be up even higher again. Just takes a bit longer teaching yourself lol.

Think a lot of people measure happiness, not on quality of life, but the quantity of shit they have, or don’t have..., especially when comparing it to their peers. And I’m not immune from it. Thing is I’m at my happiest fishing a rise on a June evening, or walking a field on a blowy winters night.., and that costs very little, just time. What I think most lack is a sense of perspective. I thank my lucky stars every day for the health of my kids and loved ones..., because I know

I have access to a couple of old lakes in a wood, across the road is a disused Methodist chapel and its said the vicar used to fish for eels in there, some years later a mate of the owner was fishing late at night almost dark and an old bloke startled him and asked if he had any eels, he said yes and reached for the keep net, when he turned round the man had gone, I was fishing there one night a couple of years back on about my 10th last cast lol, and someone walked behind my truck and never came past I went to look and saw no one it was after that my mate said did you see the vicar, and told
