  1. This was a pic from our last day of the season, hounds marked on this steep bank, early in the morning At the bottom and along by the path is a deep river, which I fell into on my way to the mark. Soaked to the bollocks. As you can see, it wasn't the day for an early morning dip. To add to my misery the whole field were standing up over the mark looking down at me as I was getting out of the river. I'll tell you it was a long drag up that bank to the mark with the shouts and whistles from all the lads. Every cloud has a silver lining and probably out of pity, I got to use my Ru

  3. Well fair play ta them ,it can be a good all round combination that grandy and grandson n more ways than just keeping a few jukels .cant think of many better pleasures fa a man than bonding and passing on ones knowledge either to a son or grandson ,of course we have the obvious.but that entails female company.good luck I says hope they all make good uns then the quandary begins.those. Bare block kennels do look often basic but they seem fine ta me clean etc and most importantly the jukels look very well.atb bill

  4. It's getting to a stage when it comes ta given out a service or gifting pups the solicitors want ta be brought in and contracts drawn. The AC Nuttall and Gould stuff and whatever been the brand names jaysus I can just see lads going all the way to the European hight courts cause they feel entitled to geting the full pedigree history of there brand name pup lol.

  5. The reason why some some won't go back to the breeder is the very reason those lads arnt gifted many terriers .It's not rocket science to know that the person with the most knowledge of the type is the lad who' bred and worked the line .Annoys when some disegard the breeder in favour of doing it their way then rubbish the type for their f**k up .If you want decent stock from a decent lad ,do the decent thing and ask his opinion on whats best for the future ,otherwise stick with your scatterbreds and muddle on .

  9. I agree totally Foxdropper. Some lads are just naturally honest and decent and know that in life (not just terriers) that if someone helps you out or looks after you in some way, that naturally, you respect that person and would act the same back towards them. And then some people are just natural shitbags and dishonest and would take from anyone and then happily shit on them and that's just the way it is unfortunately.

  10. The thing about giving someone a service is if the litter works then it was a good choice but if not its always the dog that is branded a cur even though it may have produced with a different bitch its never the bitch thats to blame.then the dog even though he is a proven worker gets a bad rep and so on. Keep it tight among mates and you won't go too far wrong.

  28. I've been shooting with Mark for around 4yrs now and, over the last 12ish months, we've become good mates with Dave. Dave's been up to the rugby club and the big manor house permissions a few times so, last night he returned the favour - he asked us up to his new golf club permission just outside Swindon Dave had his nephew along as he wanted to see what it was all about - I think he enjoyed it and, fingers crossed, a new hunter may have been born. Although it's only 9 holes, it's a big place with lots of uneven ground and wide open spaces - stalking about

  34. Nothing much today but out for 5am. Sneaking about for fox but did not see any however bumped into a magpie that busy grubbing it never saw me and after what I saw a magpie do in front of me yesterday it was too much! Yesterday while under some holly's a magpie swooped in (no safe shot). Trickled its way down into an unknown to me pigeon nest, pushes the pigeon off it's nest and pinches an egg. Then the Maggie fly's out to an oak and buries the egg (still no shot)! Then the swine flies to another holly and reappears with a small chick of some kind in its beak and flies off!

  39. The thing with being gifted the type of blood some speak of has a few advatages...1. Is the bond between the 2 men the man gifting and the man receiving..money can NOT buy the blood from the man he morally detests money and dogs.. 2. knowledgeable men who gave you the blood for free so have no reason to lie wat so ever about lineage or ability..3. The reason why you will be gifted the pup you will think like the man gifting as regarding working or matings..and a lifelong friendship with a like minded individuals who love to do exactly as you do and have the tools to do it....?
