Yep I would second that. I was tempted with going towards teagle but didn’t want to take the risk with anything that ranged too far. Got a spaniel x terrier in the end. Just the job.10 points

I've taken a long leave from the working dog world. I had to move a couple years back and placed all but two dogs with other fellas. Now I'm looking to get back to working the terriers again. Figured I'd say hi and see who all is still around. Looks like there are some new Americans posting on here. With Spring coming on, there should be some good hunting along the waterways for nutria and what not. I'll try to post some stories and pics in the coming weeks. Take care.6 points

Took the new pop up hide over to the squirrel feeder Friday evening, set it up ready for an early session Saturday morning. Woke up Saturday morning, saw the snow and thought bugger that. ? on the plus side, I checked the trail cam footage when I went to collect it and it doesn’t seem to have bothered the wildlife, so, maybe next weekend.5 points

Woke up this morning and the girls wanted to go rabbiting, so I said to them if we go they need to do all the work as I'm still out of action ? And they both said yes. So I let them pick which ferret they wanted to take, they picked bear after an hour of arguing ?. Them the wife said she would come. So we got the dogs ready and of we went, f#%k it was cold. We went to a fram about 5 minute drive and found a 7 holer and set the nets and put ferret in. After about 2 minutes one bolted and it was full of mixy so I wasn't holding out much hope, then all of a sudden the wife said there is a rabbi4 points

Like you I found them a little bit slow to come in on the feeder especially when it was out in the middle of the grass , when I moved it closer to a hedge it really took off, I think they like the hedge for the safety from the spar’s which picked them of fairly easily. A couple of tallish shrubs close by might help .. These were feeding on the floor on what the ones on the feeders (8) were dropping ..4 points

Disagree there.Ive heard that excuse before any times"oh but it's a half cross"Bollocks it's still a lurcher.Theyre meant for running and catching stuff Terriers are meant going down holes.4 points

The right to free speech, free press, free belief should unite the right and left of a liberal democracy. Red or blue we should all be marching against such attacks. It's not an attack on the right, or an attack on the left, it's an attack on the foundations of liberal democracy! Unfortunately the only time anyone gives a f**k about that in the UK is when it's their political faction being oppressed. I don't know if folks are too stupid to grasp the importance of that or simply willing to risk that right to gain a win against their political enemies.4 points

quotes, videos and photos taken off internet sites was huge fuel for the ban, and still used as evidence that the law needs tightening by antis. but l don't think it registers with some , until the knock comes, and everyone in there phone book get the pull too. loose lips etc etc3 points

Could say the same for you old boys that contributed to the ban in the first place eh? People in glass houses springs to mind.....3 points

Can remember back at school the kids who's parents were on benefits used to get a dinner token worth £1.50 which could buy you a meal and drink. The smokers used to sell them to us for silly a silly price like 20p so they could buy one fag. Maths wasn't their strong point obviously. ?3 points

They will generally get more stick at the business side of things but last i heard a Lurcher is a running dog and chasing and catching it's quarry is the name of the game.3 points

That's a fair comment but again I'd go with low odds if you don't move in those circles. If you're shot dead breaking into a house where I live the guy that shoots you can sue your family to have his carpet cleaned!3 points

Stop end I've said it before and I'll say it again you do spout some bollox.terriers are just terriers not machines programmed to do a specific job so yes any terrier can and does on occasion have an off day no matter what way they are bred. I have seen dogs go season after season without fault and then one day something happens that no one can explain as no one knows what goes on underground it might be just the once but it happens to the best of them and I think most lads if honest will agree.3 points

... practice, I said I needed to spend some time with the WMR as I was struggling a bit with it the other day. I visited a place with good rabbits and soon got into some good hunting. Off hand squirrel shots from 15-60yds from the same spot was encouraging. Next up was a rabbit. I was above them as they ran into brambles. It took a while but I finally glasses that little black piece of coal, an eye. Next I found a tiny window to squeeze the bullet through. An off hand shot at 50yds or so. The next rabbit was closer and I neck shot it. I found the bullet in2 points

A dog used implicitly fa drawing well fella yas need get some decent terriers around yas a humane killing pistol his fa that and back in the Renan days what ever else was available ,human quick dispatching when needed shows the quality of the man ,using his little tykes.catching bolsters unless them hole dogs got some running ability Charlie will be gone in the dust.lots a these teeth less hole dogs are nothing but big terriers lurchers in the sense they are not.,having a dozen in a few couple outings on the lamp single calls for a animal with abit a class .atb Bill.2 points

Not long since we moved into our new house, we have a big garden but it's very barren with no trees whatsoever. During the last cold snap i thought i would help the local residents out and bought a bird table. Placed it about 1.5 metre away from the fence and sat down in anticipation and excitement. Half a day later and not even a bite, not even a bird sat on the fence. I thought maybe they don't like the table being so close to the fence as they might feel vulnerbale to Cats. So i stuck it into the middle of tbe garden and still nothing, i cleared the snow around the table and scattered seed2 points
