Stop end I've said it before and I'll say it again you do spout some bollox.terriers are just terriers not machines programmed to do a specific job so yes any terrier can and does on occasion have an off day no matter what way they are bred. I have seen dogs go season after season without fault and then one day something happens that no one can explain as no one knows what goes on underground it might be just the once but it happens to the best of them and I think most lads if honest will agree.14 points

I agree with you their are plenty of lads that would love to see a good dog fail instead of seeing it do a good graft then jealousy has a lot to do with it. I have heard of lads telling other men slip your dog in here dug it loads of times only light to end up a gruller and they then turn around and say that the first time it went that deep.I would never ask any man to put his dog where I wouldn't put my own and anyone that has dug with me will vouch for that. I personally like to see another mans dog work so when I have someone up for a day I try and sort them with as many digs as possible as13 points

Lol, taking you to earths they to scared to drop their own dogs in.... Trying to set you up for a fail.... Been there many times and wiped the smerk off their faces.... Be honest with yourselves, every dog from every line no matter the breeding will make mistakes.... Just depends on the ego and honesty of the owner to how its dealt with, some keep quiet and still breed from em, others know enough to admit dogs faults and tell you..... Unfortunately these days they are few and far between imo.6 points

We were too genuine,..we were too honest, we were too polite,...we were wrong...it got us nowhere... What I did learn was,.no matter how passionate, or how tough a group of country sports lads are, they are physically, no match, for a trained group of Riot Police... It was unfair, it was painful,.it was,...emotional... Photos Mike the Dog...5 points

Goodonya FastDogz If a dog has temperament issues and is of a nervous disposition,..it is extremely hard to combat their disability,..and it is a disability. The 21st-century lifestyle awards scant allowance for any canine (or human for that matter) that, for whatever reason, cannot fit in... It is doubtful that you can remedy the affliction at this late hour, all you can do is try to understand the problems that the older dog faces and continue to show understanding. As for your new jukel,..get him out at the earliest possible time and allow him to see the world,..and no4 points

I once tested one here but hand on heart I already knew the answer and i was right I was brought up never put a dog to ground unless your prepared to dig it I have found spots and thought better of putting one to ground to risky one way or another with what I had with me a lot drops on the handler but I find to many kid themselves never mind the lies they tell about what they own a lot are culls but still get bred from what I have I considered not good enough to breed from but still do a job and do it OK there's a lot better out there shame more ain't more honest work them to there strengths4 points

Like Morton says, your in a perfect place for working Hill collies. Imo you will get a better type when you find a dog that is a fell/hill type rather than a trialing type. Father Son4 points

They were doing fine yesterday with loads out but very distant even the Marsh Harriers were having a look. For those it was a Canon 1Dmkiv and Sigma 150-600C but getting close is really the key.4 points

That's a fair comment but again I'd go with low odds if you don't move in those circles. If you're shot dead breaking into a house where I live the guy that shoots you can sue your family to have his carpet cleaned!3 points

I don't know what the current stock is like but i had a 3/4 out of taffy many moons ago. Good enough bitch, strong, quick, intelligent and earned her keep. Put the work in and I'm sure you'll have a decent canine pal.3 points

I was at the Hyde park rally and the march and we were too bloody peaceful and law abiding at both. In Hyde park there were antis coming about us trying to wind people up and we were told not to rise to the bait as it would look bad and send the wrong message. At the march there was estimated to be half a million people, I don't think they even needed litter pickers after we'd been, we left the place as we found it. The numbers were supposedly played down by our own organisers and when asked why it was said that if we marched again and didn't achieve the same numbers it would look ba3 points

It's more common than people would think. The digging up around me is not too plentiful so travelling is the only way to work the dogs properly. I've lost count of the times I've dropped a dog in, and out comes the 'oh we never get a dig on this place' or after a successful dig it's 'dog did well there, we've never managed a dig on here'. There's no need for it.3 points

im about to genralise here....but i dont really think a first cross between a mal and a whippet is going to be much use to most lurcher men,,of course there will be exceptions in a litter but on the hole...they might make terific hedge busters ,,bushers,,flushers and retriving shot game whilst birding... but i think you need the hight that a greyhound will bring if it was a genuin first cross...or better still a 3/4 runner cross mal...i personly think would be better suited to most lurcher lads... now i like the sound of the litter that is being talked about as its not actualy a firs3 points

97 allll day long. End of story. If any TX lads wanna come to Lincolnshire for the HFT comps coming up, your very welcome to come along and prove the TX, and as it’s said on the THL, if any TX in twenty two can out shoot, as in score, me and my 97 over 60 knock down targets at 45 yards, you can have my 97 for your petty money. Thats how I feel about the 97 being a better rifle. The catch is, it’s my rifle, so it’s always gonna be better for me. Mac, sorry big man, this doesn’t include you I’m 110% I’ll walk away with me .22 97 without you around. Or you Simon.3 points

There as never been such a thing as a pure Bedlington, the KC lines are as mongrel bred as the so called working lines, especially the Gutchcommon and granitor. The KC lines are polluted with non working mongrels, the pedigrees are as honest as the folk that write them?.The working mongrels are a better representation of the breed,in type and character than any KC fluffy that neither looks or acts like the breed was meant to do.3 points
