So, I must admit that I find it more than sad that a way of life I was born for has during my lifetime been eroded by well meaning but sadly misinformed politician's. I have always maintained that I was born a hunter, its in my blood and its my religion, at one time or another I have paid dearly for it, oh not just financially but mentally and physically. Yet despite my best efforts its- that is hunting shooting fishing etc- is slowly disappearing before my eyes. I feel sorry tha7 points

Fed up with tec today. Got the cz 455 set up for the NV add on and got it zeroed so that is ready for any night duties. Went and relocated the trail cam and bait on the small holding after taking the bloody Wulf that incidentally kept freezing all morning, to the post office. Grabbed a shotgun and buggered off out the way feeling miserable. I walked to a thin slang near to where I had the fallow buck last weekend, by the way it's delicious. Actually when I got to where I shot it the other deer have worn a path to it across the stubble field! Anyway, I'm sneaking along look6 points

Yesterday I travelled down to Bucks to see my mate and try for CWD. Straight out and spotted a buck couched up about 50 yards from a hedge. The stalk was on which involved a crawl and get in a position where I could shoot through a gap in the hedge. Decreased the distance to about 150 yards but dared not get closer as these deer are very skittish. No shot available as it was laid looking back over its rump but then a gas gun went off and it presented a side on head shot ....my queue to shoot and it rolled over with the bullet striking just behind the eye ? Gralloch done and on t6 points

My auntie went to Canada when she was 17, she's in her 70's now. She still calls the UK home but has only been back a handful of times in all those years. She says she lives with home sickness every single day and it gets worse the older she gets. I always think how sad it is that the country she's homesick for doesn't exist anymore.4 points

So, I was back up at the sheep farm tonight as I’ve got a problem fox, I say problem but the problem is it’s seems more intelligent than me ( not hard) I’ve spent a lot of time up here in February and have accounted for 5 foxes ( which is a lot for up there) and some other stuff but there’s one that I just can’t get, it won’t come in to any call and is always around the buildings or in front of the sheep, so over the past 3 nights I’ve been baiting a paddock at the back of the farm, now it was on the bait last night but as I approached it slipped through into next doors field, so tonight I tho4 points

that's obviously a job your mate does....but what title would you put to what he does....sorry bud, but I've never heard of that sought of job....they are crying out for carpenters/labourers, health workers, restaurant trades etc.etc....i think the country is planning on so many millions of emigrates over the next 5 years i think it is.....it's a really good time for anyone wanting to emigrate to other countries and it would probably get processed quicker as well i would have thought....4 points

Well this fellows luck ran out tonight. He came into the field from the furthest corner around 7.30pm. By seeing him on the camera and at various locations on the farm we managed to plot his pattern of movement. We surmised he would enter the farm where he did and that it would be early in the evening and he didn’t disappoint. Spotted with thermal shot with n/v, a really wary 14lb dog fox that won’t be killing any lambs this spring.3 points

Good mooch today. Flushed rabbits and long ears and got two rats, one in the video and another marked and caught as he bolted from a stick pile. Rat in the video was marked and flushed from a stick pile and hunted to his burrow.3 points

Best thing I did was come to Canada 11years ago, and similar to Tilly we have things here I could never have dreamed of having back in the uk. Anyone with a decent trade and half an ounce of work ethic can do very well over here, and although Trudeau is trying his best to f.uck it up for everyone, the freedoms and lifestyle compared to the uk is a no brainer for me. It can be tough the first couple of years but whatsapp/ facetime etc really helps. I have had a couple of friends who came over, and for whatever reasons went back to the uk, both now say they really regret going back. If you get t3 points

ok yes politicians , but if we honest most joe public not bothered about hunting, you always had that stigma , hunting was the toffs= upper class , and bit later middle class , thats shooting, fox hunting horse back, bit of terrier work, for digging foxes out for the Hunt etc, and hare coursing legal like the Waterloo cup etc .Now going back when i was kid born in 1952 , you see few gypos with lurchers hunting rabbits, or the odd few hares, infact i was about 10 year old , when out with one of our staffs, nice fawn 18in strong bitch, was over by some counsel tip, you get few rabbits, fo3 points

I've rigged the 455 with a reach forward and going back to the wee sytong. It's took plenty and never played up and now it's in a more natural position . Posted the Wulf back today. Not going there again! Every NV scope I've borrowed or had on trial has been shite! I'm not wealthy enough it seems so bollocks to it!3 points

Hmmm. To do a one for one variation you have to dispose of one first. The form will ask you for details of where it went then ask if you wish to do a one for one. You will not be given authority to purchase before you have surrendered the other. If you want an additional firearm you will be asked for a good reason why you should be granted the addition.3 points

Chicken chow mein If you look closely you might notice the remnants of a previous dish in the form of dried on extra hot Maysan curry sauce stuck to the side of the pan, courtesy of yours truly being a borderline scruffy gunt, or go along with Ken Homs words " never wash the wok as anything that survives the heat deserves to live"., Anyway my cornflakes and banana on Tuesday morning will taste all the better for the additional seasoning3 points

Out last night on my last look and check round for fox before they cub down proper. From Now on it will be call-outs only and then deal with any cubs . Thermal revealed a fox checking out the bottom of a shed so playing the wind I wandered closer .Night was breezy but light with the moon covered by cloud . Didnt get too far when it changed tack and headed straight for me ,well to another shed really but I was in its path . On stick ,switch the gear on and ……..what a tiny specimen thought I . Post mortem revealed a tiny vixen with no tail .Looked a bit mangey too .2 points

Had a call from work to shift a few bunnies undermining an embankment. Managed 17. Spilled the guts onto the moor and stood a 100 yards away calling in Charlie. This vixen came in in a matter of minutes ??2 points

Nice mate ?(?) just a shame you can’t shoot straight ( stav told me ) I would never doubt you ability personally atb2 points

Oh right, I didn’t realise that.. so I’ll have to hopefully see if the dealer will offer me a part exchange, even though I’m not buying the new rifle off him, there and then. If the variation takes a while to come through, I could be weeks or months without a rifle, as I would have to sell or dispose my existing rifle.. then apply for a one4one variation. Thanks for the information, I’ll look into that.2 points

KALSPELL, MONTANA, July 17 -- Mute evidence of a bygone tragedy of the woods was discovered a few days ago by Joe McKelvey, Glacier Park Ranger, near Many Glaciers. In a thicket about three miles from the chalets, Mr. McKelvey found the skeleton of a moose and upon closer investigation, discovered a human skeleton underneath. An inspection of the position of the bones, the remains of an old 45-70 rifle with an empty shell jammed in the breech and an old Hudson Bay knife with the shaft broken revealed plainly enough that the unfortunate man fired one shot, mortally wounding the moose2 points
