  1. Places like Marie Currie and McMillans shouldn’t need to be charities, they take a huge burden off the NHS with their cancer work, palliative care, end of life care and support of families. They should be funded, like the NHS from general taxation, not having to depend on charity. Cheers.

  2. I'm sick of them. Can we have money for .....snow leopards, kittens with weepy eyes, a kiddie with a cleft lip, a homeless kiddie in danger of abuse, abandoned dogs, abused donkeys, kids without clean drinking water, kids who need eye operations, guide dogs and the one that really pisses me off, an RSPCA inspector, complete with lookalike police uniform, who is so overcome by the plight of a skinny dog that he is apparently weeping.Ffs. Lots of vulnerable/ skint people are emotionally blackmailed into donating money each month to these charities when they can't afford it. There was a case a

  5. Another fox last night for the.204 Senopex A7 combo. It was a 16lb dog in good order. I will be back on the foxes hard now where there are lambs to protect and at the game breeding farm where there are both lambs and penned game birds and ducks to protect.

  6. I’ve recently had a contact for a chap who collects deer .The only request was that we got 10 or more to make the trip from South Dorset worth while .Monday afternoon I got home from work early and straight out to a spot I know there’s a few roe ,in fact it’s teeming with them .This was culling pure and simple ,no time to mess about with management or fancy shots . In the second field there where 7 roe couched against the far hedge in the sunshine .The temp was just nice with a hint of a frosty night ahead .4 does and two mature bucks heavy in velvet and a pricket .Most had their eyes firml

  11. I only just watched em on YouTube. Never ever get anything like that on telly again. Very good show. Jack's blunt and honest in it. A pack of beagles catch a hare in the show and Jack says "all wild animals die violent deaths, none of em die peacefully in their bed"....very true. But he also very clear about the benefits of the hunting sports he does the shows about.

  13. You’re so right Luckee, nothing is lost until you give up trying to fight for it. Unfortunately that appears to be where the lurcher world is right now and as someone with a great affection for running dogs, I find that very sad. In my view lurcher work (particularly in relation to rabbit control) is one of the easiest forms of hunting with dogs to justify and defend, rabbits are still classed as a “significant agricultural pest”. Yet as from April/May time it will be illegal in Scotland and it’s a loss that was self-inflicted. It’s a simple fact of life that if politicians are only heari

It absolutely grates on me some of these adverts that simply refuse to acknowledge that people are different......why are white English people asked to pay out for things that are totally abhorrent to us....." adorable little Ashanti will be raped 6 times and married by the age of 11......please donate money and end her suffering "........no you daft c**ts how about getting these weird disgusting animals up to speed on the rights and wrongs of human civilisations instead !..........." there will be no elephants left soon, please donate money so we wont have to say goodbye to our dear old friend

  20. You are right there when some thing falls under pest control it opens it up to loads of restrictions. I basically do it for sport and watching a dog work is the best thing ever and some free range food is a bonus. The country side the conditions you just can't explain it to some one who doesn't know. Pottering around at dusk or dawn with a dog and a net or what ever. All the poor old pigeons shooters have to preach this pest control nonsense and I am one of them too. But the truth is we just enjoy shooting things out the sky and the skill and effort it takes. The surroundings. Lovely weather a

  21. Out of the lads I’ve met off here Id say 75% are clueless ,useless ,wannabe using types that I dumped after the first meet .6 have been ok with 3 along the same lines as myself . Anyone still mad for it after a week solid stalking lamping and keeping up with the pace I walk is ok in my book . Seriously Ben get yourself down for a weekend .I’ve a high chair ,I mean high seat just handy for spying on next doors sheep.Who knows, you may strike up a meaningful relationship with one of them ??

  23. The argument for lurcher work should not be just about pest control but also a very sustainable method of harvesting meat that should be encouraged. The green types want more free range, low carbon types of food harvesting and ferreting and lamping is as free range and low carbon as you can get.

  34. That pair of ploughs lived at my old depot about 20 odd years back. Of all the photo's I have of the old depot I could only find 1 pic showing the ploughs, and not a very good pic, you have to hunt to find them LOL. Incidentally, the photo shows the silhouette of Canary Wharfe being constructed in the distance, a far cry from the size it is today.

  36. You do know like 70% of the proceeds usually go right to the pockets of the big wigs putting all those things on don't you ? PETA is a prime example non profit and they've been bright up on I don't know how many occasions where the big wigs where Pocketing most of the donations. I mean seriously youd figure with these places getting ten of thousands of dollars in donations they could buy f***ing big ass ranches and just keep all these strays and abused animals there for the rest of their lives happy as hell instead of kill shelters One thing about not having TV anymore is I don't h

Barrie ....I remember your Dad walking his whippets round Darlaston ,cracking dogs and your Dad was always very smartly dressed ?......i hate to say it but i really think us lurcher lads are up against it due to the fantastic job the police ,media even the CA have done on us by throwing us all under the " hare coursing ,organised crime gang ,driving the land " banner ,just walking a lurcher down a country lane is an arrestable offence now ,sadly i think we are beyond help I wont stop ,i cannot stop ,i love seeing my dogs run ,are 56 now ,had a whippet at 7 year old ,greyhounds ,lurchers

  43. Hi Phil.... that's very kind of you to say such a thing. But in all honesty I'm just the person who puts his head above the parapet every now and again (one of us has to) and I'm just a cog in the wheel which makes up the NWTF. The real grafters (who rarely get any credit or thanks) are those who set up and run the Clubs which make up the NWTF. Without their hard work and committment there wouldn't be a Federation and terrier work wouldn't have a voice. I've been around long enough to remember when the lurcher world was in a very similar position to ourselves and I saw first hand the valuable
