Started working in the local boatyard two weeks ago, just pressure washing and painting the underwater parts of the boats, anyways something I never realised and always assumed they come from a warm sea environment, but there are actually sponges growing on the bottom of canal boats, here are a few of the better ones I picked up last week, pretty cool I thought??10 points

Today I officially retired my dog Brian from the foxing World. First of all I would like to thank busher for gifting me this fantastic animal all them moons ago .for that I am forever grateful and he knows anything I breed he is welcome to one . Quick story on Brian. Brian started hunting at around 4 months old ,and seem to take to everything in his stride. Not really taking much training in anything he was shown .I initially never got him for earth work ,as we had other terriers for that job.but again he took to bolting Charlie's for fun .he bolted his first fox aged 11 months .,self en9 points

The beauty of these callers is the way you can set them out in the area you wish to shoot and operate them remotely. I maintain that a good mouth squeak is better than any of these speakers but when you call yourself the fox is zeroing in on you and can potentially see you or wind you . I have an icotec and it works well . I like Stavross have an SD card with a few favourites and none of the other stuff . I can’t comment if it’s better or worse than a foxpro . I think you would have to ask a fox , but the ones who fall for them are mostly dead and the others aren’t available for co6 points

They corrode the soul, back when the Internet was shiny I remember places like rotten.com and we'd all have a look but eventually you would find yourself in a place where nothing shocked you and you had zero empathy left, infact you would be searching for ever more graphic material just to get that buzz , imagine that getting a buzz from someone's misfortune. Shit sure does happen but I'd advice against filling your head with it.5 points

At the shoot tonight to see if we could shoot a few more rabbits around the farm, we managed 6 in about an hour so I’m guessing there’s not quite as many as I’d been led to believe. After a bit of bunny bashing we went for a walk to see what was about, I took the .223 with me, with the intention of having a call, I wish I’d taken the .243 almost as soon as we set off we came across a roe buck and then another, 5 minutes later, getting to the bottom of the farm there was 5 fallow slowly making their way up the field away from us. By now we had lost the light and set ourselves up 85 ish yards aw5 points

Ran into some "walkers" yesterday, way up on the moors in jeans and trainers with an unruly collie in tow. They breathlessly asked me if I go there often and how to get back to where they started, because it was only meant to be an hour long stroll. I sent them the looooong way round so they didn't go where I was going and spoil the rest of my walk. Not even sorry ?4 points

Joking aside I hope his recent absence from here is nothing to do with the present situation that the world finds itself in. I enjoy his posts.4 points

some of us keep small ferrets because we don't want to be digging. when you are somewhere you shouldn't be you want a ferret to bolt rabbits or come off after 15 minutes or so, you can't afford to be hanging around.4 points

Me to mate I think bill was sound as a pound to be honest. He had a funny way of putting things an his spelling was shocking but once you could get your head round what he was going on about it made sense I do think bill knows his beans about hunting dogs collie x especially he was very knowledgeable guy I think he was a traveling man I did exchange a few pms with bill he helped me out with a bit of information I was after ?? It’d be nice to see old bill back on here I can tell you that for nowt??4 points

Bill hardy was a right guy no one could offer a straightener like he could. But once you cracked the code and got through some shit he did know what he was talking about most the time but Morton was a miserable c**t who loved putting every man and his dog down4 points

Just checked my lottery ticket, ( no luck, again), and I see some lucky person in the UK has won £123 million ! Got me thinking what I'd do with such a huge amount of money ? I live in a modest, three bed detached house that's more than enough for me and the missus, and have great neighbours who all look out for each other, so would I move ? Not sure. People say " you could travel wherever you want", I've already travelled everywhere I wanted, and still can, so that wouldn't bother me. Maybe that trip to Everest Base Camp I've allways promised myself. What about my dogs, al3 points

It seems dogs are the most argued over subject on the planet. I don't know how many punch ups between hunters I've witnessed over here in pubs over pig dogs. Even me and the mrs have almost come to blows over dogs but I back off, she grew up in Birmingham, lol.3 points

No mate, they are the rattling chop sticks my mate uses, they have led to no end of misses or spooking animals when he clatters them when moving, no matter how hard I try I can’t get him to use anything else, one day I think they may be involved in an accident, possibly ran over ?3 points

I used a Icotec gc500 for a long time, it worked really well, just got shot of all the crap calls and put what I wanted on the sd, my mate had the foxpro and to be honest I couldn’t tell the difference between them, I’ve now got an Icotec “ sabre” and it’s on another level to the gc and foxpro, you can adjust the sound as the call is playing giving more realism and you can play 2 calls back to back which works really well when they are mating, only down side is it’s quite big, they all work some nights but not others, I’ve had nights where they showed no interest in the digi caller but came r3 points

We've been invited on this land to get what we can while we can, it's getting hit by 2 teams of guns ever other night and they are shooting at least 100 rabbits a night and will be all summer until it's cleared. We had young and 3/4s too but no nests.3 points

The thing is, they ain’t got a f***ing “plight” ! Lol.......if they didn’t live in Europe they would be walking 5 miles to drink from a puddle of cow piss or getting set on fire by their brothers for sitting next to a boy on the bus !3 points

Phil Lancaster passed away with cancer approximately 10 years ago. We lived on the same street in Haywards heath as him (Vale road) to say he was strange is about off to be fair. He was a gem of a man. Him and my dad were great friends. I used to walk his dog (Tinder of Glebe) we'd strap two hot water bottles full of sand over his back. A very powerful dog but still friendly. He was british muzzled match champion. He was trying to get it to be an accepted sport for obvious reasons. The dogs would be held and then released to charge at each other and more or less wrestle. It was fascinating. I3 points
