I often read threads concerning collie crosses with a degree of confusion . More to do with the sometimes negative comments that relate to the border collie , and often mention is made of the far superior ,, Alsatian , Kelpie , ACD etc . The negative comments make me question what experience the naysayers have of the Border collie and in most cases , I believe statements are based on some previosu negative comment , and not practical experience . We run nearly a thousand ewes and if we were looking for a guaranteed working Animal , then I would not consider any of the o14 points

I’ve had a nice couple of hours this aft with the dogs pushing rabbits out to test me with the 4.10 great sport, the dogs also pushed half a dozen pheasants out which all broke cover at the other side of the hedge to me!11 points

I think we get a bit caught up in this. I don’t give supplements personally as I think the stuff they need is in the food. Some people add things like bone builder, vitamins etc if they can’t get hold of certain things. There’s plenty of info online and everyone has different opinions. I’m lucky as I get plenty off the butcher. It took a while of asking different places but it’s paid off. Between the butchers, table scraps and what the dogs catch we do ok. Plenty of dogs out there live a hard working life fed on rubbish. Look at what your average farm dog is fed on! Some working dogs see nothi8 points

I personally like the malinois but it would be too much dog and wasted on me these days, for the bit of mooching I do. Also, is it just me, or does anyone know wtf wild Bill hardy is talking about??6 points

i thought it might be interesting to here what peoples first experiences with coursing dogs/lurchers were and when, mine was 1969/70 when I was a small boy out bird nesting and playing in the fields and woods around home I used to see hares all over and our mongrel used to yap off into the distance and i longed for a dog that could catch one, there was a litter of running dogs in the village these were beddy whippet x saluki not that that meant much to me at the time the bitch I bought for £3 was fly and she was a world beater in any ones eyes. the pic has been seen before but fly is the big5 points

Non ped grews are the best working dogs i ever had standing around 22 23ins ths 32lb perfect weight, the best 30 yarders they were called because nothing was as fast over the first 30yds and when ferreting how many runs do you get beyond that. I have a lot of respect for them, most guys dont need a bigger dog, all down to what quarry you run. But for me those little dogs have given me some great days and nights out ATB KIC.4 points

The term Hard Blood whippet was an original phrase that I first coined when working on a planned, but sadly unfinished treatise, with the late Ted Walsh, the author of the embryonic manual,...Lurchers and Longdogs. Ted (an authority on the KC registered coursing whippet)was puzzled by the nomenclature and I had to assure him that these specialists, purpose bred, non-pedigree racing dogs definitely once included the blood of the Black Country Staffordshire Bull Terriers,.hence my choice of words,...Hard Blood...?4 points

She’ll be back in shape soon enough, you won’t see her struggling to push a buggy laden with crap from farmfoods and Iceland . She will have nannies looking after it while her personal trainer gives her a workout in Hyde park with the paparazzi snapping her arse . Different world mate !!4 points

Was that the film that he had to grow a 'tache for and the producers wouldn't let him cut it off for the filming of Justice League leaving the JL producers to decide to just erase it with CGI? That poor CGI job destroyed the film!...... could you please burn the f***ing set down for me? Regards Very unhappy nerd4 points

My bitch took a nasty fall it’s in her running style. But she troopered on till the end and the host even bought breakfast before leaving. Cheers mate top man again4 points

I don't remember Beretta or anything really decent . I possibly remember there was a Manufrance 3 shot pump and maybe a SKB sbs but it's too many years ago. I can't remember if you had to send your certificate in or whether the agent just had to see it. Which ever way there was a situation for misuse. The certificate in those days was just a white card folded in half. there were no gun details. It was just name and address, a description of what a shotgun was a date and a force stamp. Nutters like Ian Brady and Mira Hyndley had handguns. Some Criminals had sten guns but generally there wa2 points
