Asked some of my online freinds on one of my chats ( forgetting not everyone lives in the middle of nowhere like me) if they ever been in bed , had a bit if trouble sleeping hear the owls n' coyotes out singing and just decided to go sit on the porch in their pj's for abit and just listen. Told em there was something about it I can't explain. Once your eyes adjust you can see the possums or other critters lingering around , bats flying ,hear all the crickets and what not. Said it's just nice I reckon...feels like it's good for something don't know what though, puts the mind a ease regardless.8 points

Hi mate,...yeah,..as you would undoubtedly know,...Heelers are usually real suspicious of strangers, and usually make good guards,..they seem to do this instinctively.? My original stock was incredibly varied,.not only in their basic physique, but also in temperament. My old bitch Speckle was kind and gentle, and although she would sometimes rag feral cats and foxes, she rarely killed a rabbit and never raised a growl, at a human...Mind you, I brought her up real soft and was always good to her. Others I've had, would certainly guard, attack, and unfortunately bite, nosey folk.5 points

Technology isnt necessary mate its easy to check at the wrist with your index and middle finger....count the number of beats in 15 seconds and multiply by 4.....to get the most accurate reading do it 3 or 4 times using the average of the 3 values....ive used all the tech and the old fashioned way is never more than 1 or 2 beats different.4 points

The pumpkins and Japanese squash plants went mad this Summer. This is only half of the crop and l only had four plants! Weirdly the green knobbly squash grew on the same plant as the orange ones . Just about anything that was available a month ago went into the wine ; apples, pears ,plums ,sloes, blackberries, bullaces and sprig of fennel. A pretty random mix . It's bubbling like mad scientist's experiment and shows no sign of slowing down . The damson jelly took a couple of attempts to get right but has passed the approval test. Well at least nobody l gave jars to has expir3 points

My father in law is right into it, searches right back through all of our family histories and documents it all...my wife's side is back to the beginning of time now, I think... Now its all really interesting and I honestly love my Father in law to bits...but to be cornered by him at a family do, he's pretty much deaf and there is only one way conversation...well he can't hear so he does the talking..... I feel like a time traveller after a couple of hours when he finally comes up for air!! Lol3 points

Wilf, you seem to be completely missing the point ! Im sure most people sympathise and agree with the aims of the protesters, but not with their method of protest. Id have far more sympathy and even respect for them if they ran in front of government cars, glued themselves to the Prime Ministers plane, chained them selves to Downing Street gates, etc. As it is, I reserve my sympathy for the woman who is still in hospital following the pile up, and the old woman who is paralysed because her son couldn't get her to hospital in time because of the protest. Havent gone over the whole thread as some of the hypocrisy being spoke just turned me right off but watching the way some of them ol bill were acting is the very reason they command absolutely no respect from people anymore....lets have it right if those idiotic pricks sitting on the M25 in their hi vis vests were wearing football shirts or a Stone Island jumper instead, plod would have been wading in with their batons.....them people would have been picking themselves out of the grass verge instead of being asked if they need anything !....anyone who thinks its not all part of something bigge3 points

The bigger more glitzy gun shops tend to be staffed by salesmen that (A) haven't much idea (B) don't give you the best advice on any prospective purchase just what they need to shift to meet targets. I would visit my local gunshop and ask their advice, also seek out local shooters who in the main will be glad to help.3 points

Spent ages, out in the kitchen, trying to tap these really long, ridiculously thin 'Panel' pins in. More like just fukking pins, really! Anyway, I had my glasses on. My head torch ~ which I long since realised only a kunt would try to work without. And, all I'm constantly thinking is: " Christ, I need new glasses! ". " FFS! I'm always getting in my light! " And, " I'll bet Kanny would have finished this hours ago! " Thoroughly miserable experience. I didn't enjoy a minute of it and I was constantly distracted by the wish to just get it fukking finished and get bac2 points

I would not use The Sportsman unless you know exactly what you want as I wouldn't trust their staff not to dish out pure bullshit. Unfortunately they are now the importers of FX guns along with various other guns so they will try to flog you what gives the highest profit and possibly not what suits your needs. You are better telling us what yu are wanting and perhaps there is someone on here that may have what you are looking for and save some money plus get the chance, depending where they are based, for you to try the gun out. Just a thought. Phil2 points

I'm sure its the impact thump of the .22 when it hits the rabbit, the noise is generated more local nearer to the living quarry not being hit, so they get spooked because generally its the only noise they hear. ?2 points

In WW2 England acted as an aircraft carrier for the Yanks. They could not have contributed to the European campaign anywhere near as much without UK airbases and army bases. Australia under the new pact could be the US & UK's naval base in the southern hemisphere. Nuclear subs need to restock with food, change crew and be serviced and if they had to return to the UK for this it would impact on their operational time in the southern waters. This deal is more than selling hardware.2 points

Once Macron is gone France will act differently to the UK. It is only the Brexit aspect that is souring Anglo-French relations at government levels. The French people are pro-British. It is only the French government that hates the UK and that is purely down to the UK cash cow having left the EU's control. People still haven't grasped the massive impact Brexit is having on the EU and how much it will negativly influence the EU's future strategy. France is going through the same industrial hardships that the UK did in the 1970's. Unions are too strong and the money is running out. Renault2 points
