Heres my Cooklands bred first cross Deerhound/Greyhound,he was 10yrs last month just under 31tts which to me has not hampered him(watch Axel on Lurcher Mania) he has worked/works certain types of cover plus as a young dog up and at em(more so his litter sister) and and again to me what a length of stride.He has got very good feet most certainly from the deerhound side,his breeding is out of Trevors Deerhound "Boots" whose sire was Doxhope Knights Errant also Rohanis, Shenvil,Rosslyn lines are in there.On his Greyhound side called "Marys on Tour" in her lines are Honcho,Westmead and Sandman.So

But would he have changed it if he could and secondly is there ever a good time to die, I have mates who lived wild and wonderful life’s and died early and others who sit around doing nothing and will probably go on for ever, it’s not always about the time you done it’s about the things you done with that time

Then it was off to try for the other fox which had been spotted ? Entered field where it had been seen , a hand squeak and there it was in the far hedge . Kept calling and had it come in nice and steady , this time a vixen ? So a very successful night with both foxes targeted accounted for ??

My mate had a report of a fox seen in a game cover on Tuesday and another spotted at the back of his place , so last night the plan was to target both of them. On arrival at the shoot if was raining heavy so sat in the motor for 1/2 an hour until it eased. Got set up on some bales and it started blowing a gale and peeing down again ? Vixen mating call was playing and it wasnt long before a fox was coming in from a long way out , followed it til it disappeared into the game crop and then reappeared at around 100 yds , a dog fox accounted for

Went yesterday caught plenty roach Gudgeon. But no perch at 14c. Went back today plenty roach and couple of perch so flicked a swimmer roach out at end of mini session. In no time float dipped and I got my reward happy as Larry. made my day and time spent on this little pond.

I built block kennels and started off with the dogs in the open on beds but it soon became apparent that in the winter this isn’t nowhere near warm enough. They are now in boxes inside the block kennel.
