I met this legend a few year ago whilst working in Sheffield, his name is Cyril Elliot and he was in the Normandy Landings at Sword Beach. I hope he's still going strong God bless him, will be about 100 now if so.8 points

Stop.end I know the bitch inside out, show her a hole that's holding and she will stay till the jobs done, there's not alot that has ever pushed past her, she's as good a digging dog as I've ever seen, I've nothing to prove to anyone, I can't watch the dog do a shift and not be able to move for a week afterwards..... Or be f****d to put her face back together, she totters about on walks and follows the sound of my voice. What sort of a prick would risk losing her just to stroke his own ego?8 points

Racism?? To have any opinion now could be classified as being racist...its all mental.. I know the old "I have black mates so I'm not racist" bullshit is overly used..... but the black lads I know are as embarrassed by this shit state as your more "moderate" English fellas.... "Pick a side" they say now.....hmmm.... ok.....I get it, I'm a white irish descent Englishman, I'm pretty proud of my heritage, I dont overly think about it to be honest... I know for certain I wont be shutting out the few black mates I have, i also know they dont give a f**k about this shit either.....7 points

Surely if the man says the bitch is finished working then shes finished working he knows her best. Is there any point in working an 11 or 12 yr old bitch who's grafted hard all her life only to see her hard earned reputation tarnished by putting in a shift shes not up to anymore. The bitch is surely worth more than a man's ego. People often forget to retire a dog in time before there body starts to weaken after all the years hardship. When they give everything to the cause we should afford them that decency I reckon. Not having a go just my opinion7 points

would have been any easy decision for most to have just pts thinking he wouldn’t have had a future, But fair play to you! Here’s his litter mate6 points

I have a few Black mates,I eat a few takeaways,I like the Sex Pistols but why should I bend the knee to appease another race ? There is not a White man/woman alive who has owned or sold slaves or mistreat them,it's all History and History can not be changed ! Slavery was bad and there is no denying it but there was not only Black slaves. So to stand by your own race does that mean because we are White we are RACISTS ? Millions of Blacks protesting/looting/pillaging/murdering across the globe because of the way there ancestors where treat nearly 200 years ago and still feel hard done by today ,6 points

As we cut the fields for 2nd cut this afternoon, I thought I would have a quick look this evening. Got to the farm and straight away I noticed some magpies dive bombing something at the bottom of the first field. Looked through the scope and I could just see the top of a foxes head. Now I know these fields well, and this fox was between 300 and 350 yards away. Not happy with taking the shot with only seeing the top of it's head I waited. About 10 mins later it got pissed off with the magpies and got up and walked off and through the far hedge. I quickly walked up the hedge to the nex5 points

Oh shucks Phil....I hope you get that crack fixed. Don't lose the piece of wood Phil! ?5 points

Just like i said... you have never owned one so your opinion isn't worth a jot and i don't care if your mate is Annie Oakley. Just get one thing straight my name isn't Alsone and you have decided to lecture the wrong bloke. You never write anything light hearted you lecture people and try to brow beat them into accepting your old fashioned ideas are the best. Well i have news for you and it's all bad, your ideas aren't always the best. To be honest i have watched you on threads for a good while and you certainly come across as a condescending know all sort of c**t. As per5 points

Never pissed on one thank God but I was trying to get a rabbit out of a dry stone wall and touched the mains fence with my forehead. I thought I had been struck down by lightning it flung me off my feet backwards, 6 foot in the air . My mate couldn't do anything for laughing, I was in shock for about 10 minutes, hate the things.5 points

Well said that man, it doesn't really matter what you have in the cabinet, just use what you have and enjoy it. In clay shooting we get the 'must have' situation when the top shots are using guns costing over £10k so in order to match their score, you must have the same.....................................not !!!!! As you know Duncan Lawton won the world championship with a knackered remmy 1100 that he would fix as he went round the course. Calibre is not quite the same thing but you take my point hopefully. Our tractor man/feeder used to carry out running repairs on them with bare hands. Reckoned you only had to be quick when joining the two snapped ends together as you were filling the gap in the circuit. Loon. But he was Australian!4 points

A social hearts and minds campaign would always be the preferred option for me buddy. It costs every farmer more to shear the sheep than the price they get back for the wool, I’d guess twice as much. Its criminal that we have this wonderful natural resource and it’s worthless. Just to add, I’ll be offering mine for free to folks next year if the price is still shite for insulation and anything else they want to do with it, I’m a member of a couple of traditional cottage renovation groups and I’ll just pop it in there....I’d rather give it away than see it go to waste.4 points

I fell into the “must have” trap years ago , and chopped in my trusty old MK38 for a Perazzi MX8 because George Digweed had one and if it’s good enough for George then it will definitely improve my scores . In short it didn’t, in fact it took ages before I got back to where I had been with my Miroku. Then he went over to Kemen , and I started to think , maybe I should get a Kemen ? To cut a long story short I’m back to a MK38 and I’m just happy being a mediocre clay shot .4 points

See to me this is an example of where we could really do better environmentally. We have this renewable resource that is essentially worthless and has been replaced by a much less environmentally friendly alternative (polyester). Depending on your politics we could either incentivise wool products with the tax system or make a bigger push socially.3 points

I touched a mains one and woke up 10 minutes later from my spaniel licking my face. I knew the time it happened and in a confused state checked the time, I had been unconscious for 10minutes. I know a farmer that checks his fences by just getting hold of the wire. Recons if your quick it's not so bad! Lune!! I use to shot fox's on a pig unit. They had a wretched multi strand fence around the whole unit/s. I have observed a few times foxes listening to the pulses and in the blink of the eye shoot through the fence unscathed !3 points

Calibre is down to personal choice and as you say it doesnt matter as long as you like it for your chosen needs. We all shoot different quarry on different terrain so what is suitable for one may not be suitable for another. I love my .243 but mention that on the SD and you will be slated , it's a girly gun and all that ?? For rabbits I prefer my .22LR my .17 HMR doesnt get out much , may have to take it out and have a play with it.?3 points

Been all around rifles for a few decades. 17Rem, 22Hx3, 222x3, 223, 6mmx3, 6.5mm, 30/30x3, 308x2. 357m. Reloaded the lot. Do I shoot less now I just have two rimfires (excluding deer)? No! So in other words I don't get stressed about calibre's. I use to. Waste of time though.3 points

Got to smile when you read someone reckons x calibre is the dogs danglies .They all perform according to the man at the fat end . Love my .223 but is it the best foxing round ,no it’s just my choice .Love the .243 but is it the best deer round ,probably .?3 points

Everyone I know has done that except me . I used to help the old keeper before I took this shoot on and would work on the pens , putting in pop holes and general repairs The old twat used to find it hilarious to put the fencer on while I was working and watch me jump and curse . I got paranoid to the extent that I used to remove and hide the unit in a bush , before he could zap me . What is it with old farm worker types , and they all seem to delight in causing pain , or playing practical jokes with shit .3 points

We use hotshock at work. Sheep fleece notorious for insulating any shock but the hotshock seems to work on them, so would deffo fry Charlie's nose. https://www.ukcountrystore.co.uk/acatalog/HotSHOCK-A50-Electric-Fencing-Battery-Energiser.html Few years ago when I worked on the pigs, we had all them behind mains fences. Repairing one day, on my knees, bent over i accidentally touched my nose onto top wire; bang!! Like getting kicked in face by draft horse!! Missus reckons it killed few of my remaining brain cells!!2 points

Fairweather did ok today. Nothing fancy. Just a 100yd crow and another about 75yds. Bearing in mind this rifle has replaced my unsilenced 22 it's making easy work of what would of been an hour's stroll with the 22! The Winchester 20gn ammo was used.2 points

Nope, I just used the sex pistols as an example. Could've just as easily been the clash, big audio dynamite, or a couple of other bands. All had plenty of black fans/supporters. That stood/danced side by side with the white fans. Just puzzles me how people are so false/plastic when it comes down to it2 points
