  1. When someone comes up with a remedy for nose hairs please get in touch, I hand strip those b*****ds and boy does that hurt, they grow back even when ripped out by the roots ?

  2. Wow CollieJohn...I can't believe the amount of hostility such a topic has engendered! Must be that everybody's bored of moaning about Brexit and want something else to complain about. Personally, I think they look great and should suit you down to the ground. I've often thought about the potential of adding a smidgen of sighthound to my kelpies but I doubt anybody else would be interested so I just accept the fact that my dogs aren't nippy enough for rabbits in the open...but that they make up for it in other ways. Just ignore the pessimists, some people simply can't see the point in she

The snowflakes are falling ! ...inquiry’s to follow , a sacrificial head will need placing on the block ...no doubt some poor sods army career will go down the shitter ...Jeremy and his party will want their pound of flesh ... In reality no one was hurt , no one was in danger just a few of the lads having a craic ..the same lads that will be required to step up to the plate when the call comes in for someone to do it for real ...we really are led by the donkeys .

  5. I think for lads at that level of soldiering it was dispicable and unforgivable and if was their immediate superior they would be suffering the consequences for a number of reasons ......... 1. Their shots on target was very poor ....... 2. The grouping was awful ....... 3. And the stoppage drills were terrible ........ more range time needed for those lads ........

  6. That's true but simply lifting weights isn't going to bulk you up unless that's the direction you take it. If you do it right it'll improve your ability to run around on the pitch and help you shift fat at the same time. I get what you're saying about dropping weight but it's the quality of the weight you're dropping that's the concern. You're attempting to lower your bodyfat and increasing lean muscle mass will help with that. Look at your footballers and you'll see they do different gym work compared to rugby players who will do different work than powerlifters. Most people stand on the

  10. No worries, mate. The response certainly wasn't taken that taken that way, from this end. This is one of those THL thread that is a genuine pleasure to read and long may it continue. Training is one of those subjects that seems to have common ground amongst the membership and it's refreshing to see knowledgeable posts that are positive and posted with the sole intention of helping everyone. It's transcended political and religious divides and shows that we're all decent blokes despite being hidden behind the keyboard. In defense of the squat as an all round conditioning exercise it

Theres nothing wrong with Crossfit all these activities are there for your benefit....but the fact is in a few years time it will be on the shelf with everything else......and thats how progress should be too......I came out of the gym game because i could see how it was going, when something becomes too popular it gets watered down into weaker forms and when The Great Outdoor Gyms started cropping up i knew it was time to get out but of course thats from a financial point......but also fitness is trendy now and it was never about that for me....societies are not defined by geography anymore th

It’s time will come, as my mate mosh says you won’t get owt sat on the sofa so we’ll just keep at it by the way when I got in I had mud where the sun don’t shine from getting the van out, so I’ll be sending my small’s round to be washed, the missus isn’t happy because some fell off me from somewhere onto the white bedroom carpet, so I was woken up at 6 this morning, not with a cup of tea or a good morning my love but with you can bloody clean that up before you do anything today ?

  20. Im a big believer in listening to your body but its something you only master over time....most people hit a brick wall after their first 3 - 4 months of training as you see fast growth but then your body says " f**k you i can take that now ".....so you have to keep shocking your body into growing....bodybuilding is simply an adaptation to stress if you dont stress your muscles you wont grow, but the lifting is only part of the growing process its all has to be done in order.....1,Train ( stress).....2,Rest ( repair )......3,Grow ( adapt ).....do it in a different order and you wont grow you ha

  25. To be a sniper you have to be an above average soldier mate and obviously a good shot however actually pulling the trigger is a small part of the skill. A sniper needs to be an excellent map reader as he needs to insert himself into position using the best route available which he will only get from studying a map ... he needs to be very fit as he is carrying a lot of weight. His camouflage and concelement obviously needs to be top notch. His firldcraft skills need to be second to none. He needs a good memory and eye for detail. He needs to be able to stay awake for long periods without losing

  27. Especially for katchum and lurcherman. Progressive overload. Get good quality sleep. Keep it brief with basic/compound exercises, deadlifts, shoulder presses, bench, dips, leg press, not all in the same workout. Squat if you can, it just does NOT suit alot of people. As things get a little harder, still not quite recovered from last workout, tired or whatever, add an extra day of rest between workouts. Don't be a slave to your routine, if you're still tired, take an extra day off. Don't train for more than an hour. Keep cardio to a minimum. Just do enough to wa

  28. I'd go as far as saying more so. Calories are far more abundant in the 21st century than at any time in human development. Combine that with the fact we're all running on stone age hardware and you start to understand why many of the biggest killers are directly down to what goes in the hole under the nose.

  30. That looks fine....your best steering clear of the big chain gyms a quiet little place where you can concentrate and learn like that is perfect. And the aches you should be experiencing are perfectly normal....pain no....aches yes. Remember...." If you want things you have never had,you must be willing to do things you have never done " ? Just see how it go,s.

  33. Mate, if you spent time amongst some of these lads you would soon realise that all hope is not lost. Proper chaps who crack on like proper chaps......it’s a breath of fresh air for a civilian when you spend your day to day life watching these prats with skinny jeans and silly beards ordering their skinny lattes in poncy London coffee shops.

  34. Like most things in life, it all comes down to being realistic about yourself too. I person who is naturally weedy will never fully combat genetics imho, same as if you are a high aggression sportsman or a more laid back type.....you can improve but you can’t put in what nature left out I reckon. Honesty is always the best policy and will help achieve better results in conjunction with a bit of common sense and some research.

  35. Im a very competitive person but ive found over the years most competitions to do with strength end up getting overtaken by ego i did a couple of powerlifting comps years back and just found it all a bit pointless....likewise i did a few bodybuilding shows and just found the whole thing a bit mincey and embarrassing standing on a stage flexing up covered in oil just wasnt a bit of me at all training has always been about personal growth, seeing how far i can push my mind into the pain and just the challenge of continual improvement....not about beating another man thats what fightings for ?

  36. We MIGHT have a Tory Government but Labour are running the show just closing down all the options. You can vote for what every you like but they will DICTATE what you are going to get. Sad sad times peoples democracy is gone. Thats the trouble with MP"s they just will not listen to the people. I think the biggest mistake made was divulging what parts of the UK voted in which way, should have just gave out the final numbers. No excuse for MP's then to say but my constituents voted to stay. Perhaps then they would have more readily excepted the result. Now I think it will be name

  37. I know the feeling, I’d been after a fox at the chicken farm. Had the call out and went the first night , as I was walking to my usual spot I saw the fox leaving the field. No shot the first night , then I was out in Hurricane Freya and nearly got hit by a piece of corrugated iron that blew past . I sat out about eight evenings before I eventually shot him , but I realised I was dealing with a pair because I was getting glimpses of a fox but never a safe shot or it never stood long enough or it was behind wire , and there was a small vixen still to deal with . I knew where the den was , so I w
