Our last meal tonight at our friends place...beautiful hotel on 2600m up the mountain... Cured meat, cheese, cheese balls, traditional pasta dish called Pizzoccheri, steak with potatoes, ice cream made with Braulio (a drink made in Bormio to help digestion), red wine, beer a whisky after...... he would not take a penny...found it offensive that we tried!! 16 years ago he was a fairly young man from a small village in the alps, he stayed with us for 4 weeks, I took him to football, out with the lads, for steaks and up to the moors etc...he said tonight that he loved his time with us..
