Just got a battery operated rotisary, it's meant to go over a camp fire but a little messing and it goes over the Barbie, boned stuffed with apples and jerk past then rolled belly of pork, on the left, the chicken on the right has a perforated can full of oil, garlic, chillie,s and smoked paprika inserted into its Ahole which flavours the meat better than any rub or marinade, well chuffed with my first attempt18 points

I wasn’t going to say any more, but in an attempt to add some sanity I’ll write this. Now regular members of this forum will have seen me write about me coaching youth football both in England and Ireland and my work in schools in England. In short that means I have an Enhanced CRB check in England and the equivalent Guarda Check in Ireland. They rake through every detail of your past. What does the type of sick mind who would make up stuff like that have and what does it say about how they think.? If anyone thinks this type of thing is funny then I also suggest you ha11 points

Depends on how you view life ,if your happy on a keyboard insulting people and calling them mongs ,but taking care to preserve your anonymity incase you actually have to face a real person and poo your pants ,then it's probably not for you .7 points

I don't believe in fate mate,i have a friend who always says everything happens for a reason,i think experiences and people can sway you this way or that and determine which path you follow when there are several available to you,we all get to crossroads in life but I think its the individual who decides which path to follow.6 points

The good old bad old days,we used to go all over, fanatic rabbiters, caithness, sutherland, perthshire, she borders, weardale, teesdale, north Yorkshire, malham, all over the dales,i think it would be very difficult to replicate those days down here in the south even if you had the inclination, our dogs wer average, but the ground was ideal and rabbit numbers were ridiculous.5 points

I honestly reckon there will be an epidemic of people with lungs completely f****d by those things in the future. Like dragons walking round puffing massive clouds. I’ve watched that vapour and it takes a while to dissipate. Just my 2p5 points

Only on THL could a thread about Eddie calling wilf a paedo protector turn into some sort of shark style human frenzy , end of the day it’s been said up to them two to sort it out rest of you want to grow the f**k up I wouldn’t tolerate this shite of my primary school age kids .5 points

Woodies, I found some, on the edge of a rape field and two busy sittie trees. I got me under one and got 19 to hand and four lost in the tape, they were gliders folding up near 100 yards in the crop. The little 99, now with a mod on was excellent for the job pulling off a few 45+ yard shots. Would I of done better with a shotgun? I doubt it, I had birds coming while one was dropping through the branches! U.4 points

Well, I've got a Nieghbour up road that wanted some squizzers thinning out, and seen as I've cleared my place I said I would have a look around for him. Rang him this morning, and he was overjoyed I offered to go, so off I trundled, met up with him and he pointed out the likely spots where he sees them, mainly around the walnut trees, a few mature chestnuts and an ash, but he said fill your boots and go where you like. knowing his ground quite well already, I set off down the hedgeline, scanning with the thermal as I walked, nothing in the walnuts except pigeons. My good mate has a small shoot he has started up. And the fox has nearly completly wrecked his pheasant population. He has been out with night vision, the lot. With no luck at all. He has asked me a few times to come help him. But weather has been far to hot. But this weekend it has been cool and wet. So decided to help out. First wood, dogs all in and away. 5 mins later they have found charlie boy. He's out and cleanly shot. My pal was over the moon. Gave us full run of the other woods to do through season.4 points

Further north you go the better imo..... We took over 100 odd rabbits from this banking in 3/4 hrs.... Went back and still took 40 odd more on the lamp same night?after a few days you get sick of it...... your dogs are sore and you struggle to get the smell of rabbit off you lol, so go out for other bits and bobs ?4 points

I personally like to give a dog a taste of something in the day before i let it run a feild on the lamp and connect with something that bites back..... Just because a dog looks ready physically dont mean it is..... Preban we ran them doubled up.... First few times.... Then took away the experienced dog and let the youngster crack on......4 points

You can’t think like that pal . Your son could be knocked of his bike on the way to work or get a sneaky punch on a night out , or get into a car with his mate who’s had one too many. Its all conjecture. There’s a whole swathe of new ideas sweeping across the army , all the old hat ideas are being blown away by a fresh look at command , the importance of a lightweight mobile force and all the fitness is being assessed and unified regardless of age / gender etc. I did two tours in Helmand with 16 AA brigade, one attached to 3 para and the USMC , one to the royal Irish4 points

Ha ? ya bellends. I’m still about. Always check up on the new content and stuff. Just nothing to add. But know I should post more. Plenty of new members joined these days. Only take as many as I can eat or store for a couple of days. My perms aren’t festering so one or two are fine for me. There’s enough about mind, but I try to just manage the amount of rabbits rather than lower it. Not taken any young ones this season, well, one.3 points

A good day and night for me never equated to double figures,2 and 3 rabbits was a long days slog, then we ventured into the Dales. What a mistake, you soon lose your love of hunting and chase numbers, chase mutts that are better suited to numbers, neglect your family and lose yourself like a smackhead on crack.I spent 7 years chasing Dales rabbits, what a waste of 7 years for a fecking conie, they are not worth the effort until you again realise that a few hunted right is better than a massive amount hunted for the sake of killing numbers.3 points

? Well, this debate is all getting a tad serious for me,...and all's I would say is that...Darn Sarf,.we don't have many areas where rabbits sit out to be hunted up, by a lurcher dog. Facts are, it's not complicated really, it is just a geographical truism..... I've hunted over much of the UK and can say, with some certainty, that a genuine working style lurcher can usually adapt to any given location,.as can his owner.?3 points

? Times are hard mate,i cant afford avgas for the Lear nowadays ? I have just booked flights to Canada...………...on a commercial airline ? I think there might be other people on the flight beside the missus and our pilot ? the shame of it ?3 points

we used to go ferreting above grassington and bedale both places always produced 100 plus and we had a 150 from bedale but to be fair with a lurcher or two you would of doubled that my spaniels was catching one after another on the days they went, we used to bolt from walls on some sheep land at Sheffield and my coursing bitch used to catch up to 20 most times great days but easy rabbits spoil you for the little mouch round home.3 points

My beardie/border mix was around 7/16 greyhound. Most laid back dog at home I've ever come across. If my sister came to my house to visit with her kids he'd bugger off out of house into his kennel for some peace and quiet. Out in the field he was a natural out and out hunt and find dog......I always refer to him as nose down eyes up.....by christ he was a joy to watch. I've never owned a dog like him before where you would literally have to look away if he was close to a rabbit as they headed towards the hedgerow....yet he rarely if ever got injured.....he got tangled in a roll of barbed wire3 points
