Been a splendid day today, found some big puffballs which have made really good soup…dug out a grouse from the bottom of the freezer….we are on the moor next weekend so it needed roasting….been in there 12 months but very good..6 points

10 of us round to mum and dad's for Sunday dinner today - it wasn't planned but, it just ended up that way. Mum loved it. We took the big table outside and had roast beef in the sunshine with her homemade gravy My brothers ex hates guns and anything else that she doesn't agree with A couple of years ago I gave my nieces catapults and a big bag of clay balls. Today I got them having a go on an airgun - they loved it so, I left it round there when I left for them to keep using Their dog's knocking on a bit now but, he enjoyed half of my ice cream. Only good thing about all this wind and rain imo...is it's kept the rivers topped up,and stopped the algae blooms building up and suffocating the fish loads of nuts/berries on the trees around here, best yr for rabbits in as long as i can remember , hopefully still a few to go at when the season starts..4 points

Otters vision is designed for seeing underwater not above. Its their only weakness in my opinion. If you don't move they generally can't see you more than 10 ft away. To give me an advantage I always wear neutral colors that match our tree leaves depending on time of year. This was what I was wearing today. No flashy colors.3 points

Met a nice woman (yank) not bad looking either lol, she had a male greyhound, and bitch lurcher, most greyhound she bit saluki in it, I think prob little drop of pit in there, as it was bit stronger greyhound, but looked just like strong fawn greyhound at a distance. Anyway old Buck would go to close to it, and little woody didn't get that close for feckin once lol. Her dogs calmed a bit one they know my old dogs, wouldn't bother them. I told her the prob I've had with thick dog owners, not calling there off and and few kicking off on Buck, he not a dog fighter, only thing he kill wild a2 points

Woke up this morning to a message off one of the lads who's got one of the pups I bred in April last year. Says he's doing well at bushing. This was this morning In local wood managed to get a grey.. Turning out to be a nice dog. At first he was abit worried because out of all the little this was the pup that had the aggressive behaviour against its siblings to the point it would go for them just for fun. A month ago I had a phone call saying he's just too head strong when out with the lads he's going for there dogs but not only that when , a go to put him in his place goes for me too lol . Fo2 points

Labelled a fat right song in the news some up this world right now … "Rich Men North Of Richmond" I've been sellin' my soul, workin' all day Overtime hours for bullshit pay So I can sit out here and waste my life away Drag back home and drown my troubles away It's a damn shame what the world's gotten to For people like me and people like you Wish I could just wake up and it not be true But it is, oh, it is Livin' in the new world With an old soul These rich men north of Richmond Lord knows they all just wanna have total control Wanna2 points

Sauté a Leak or onion in a splash of oil with 3 whole garlic cloves. Add the Puff…make sure you peel it…cut into cubes. Add some thyme and salt and pepper…fry off for 5 mins then add water/chicken stock and boil for 10 mins. Blitz it up and I added some Parmesan and cream to make it smooth and rich and it was superb2 points

Met some tidy people over the yrs off this forum...the majority of them have been decent folks who would give you the shirt off their backs...gifted each other terriers/lurchers,ferrets,nets, swapped days out digging, lamping, ratting, beating, fishing etc,and have had many good days/nights out in the Field up and down the whole of the uk, since i first joined up in 09... Made the effort to go and be apart of the Charity Fishing comps, something that any member and their families are always welcome to attend ...more members should make the effort, instead of being so bitter...there is a commu2 points

Walked in a small creek in town today.I seen bubbles.I knew it was a yearling otter.I sat and watched him hunt. I didn't move as otter can't see good.He made his way right to my feet.He was spinning in circles to catch his prey.It was strangely similar to a tactic that I've seen dolphins use. Finally he spotted me and was gone.2 points

Can you fuk. Full of blaggers, dreamers, wrongens and dinlo's. You need to move with someone to know what they are really all about. I've met a good number over the years and I have been mostly disappointed.1 point

I was in someone's garden one night(and far to old to be doing that shit any more as it wasn't that long ago) fishing for sea trout in a sluice pool where the river from the sea can't go any further and i had a otter come as close as that to me, i did wonder if they had poor eye sight as he was that close when he sussed me and soon did one when he knew i was there.1 point
