Had a hour out sunday morning at 7.30 am. All rats caught were from the big shredder used to shred carpet and wood. They were bolting all over the place. Dogs worked well and had a great little hours ratting. Kes was 100mph and clipped her nut on the machine, luckily just a graze and never broke the skin. Its amazing where rats will hide.

Why does it have to do something that a collie cross can’t?? Just because a different dog is used.. it’s not because the original dog is inferior… if you wanted a fox dog you could use a Weaton/greyhound….. that’s not because the bull/greyhound is no good, it’s just a different type of dog.

Aye totally different type of dog and drive to be fair. The are driving / droving dogs for cattle work. Usually way to hard for sheep work, very mouthy, and gripy and no fear of getting kicked across the pen or yard by a cow and coming back in for more. In my opinion more suited for breeding Lurchers than most collies now. But I guess in the past you would have had a lot more collies like that - especially on the days of the drovers which is where the collie grey came from.

I've kept collie "types" for the last 25+ year now....must of just dropped lucky lol because i've never had one stalk Back to the ACD .... a 3/4 bred animal would be more to my liking , as i think the 1/2 crosses come a bit to heavy set / boned to make a fair fist at the work that i like a dog to turn its hand too

I don't advocate kids using pot unless for medical reasons. Some people are going to abuse anything good and make it bad. Still no way as bad as alcohol, nicotine or hard drugs. Seeing as its the end of the pheasant season I went for the last wander in pursuit . Managed to find a few and saw around a dozen squirrels today. Lambs in the fields was a beautiful sight , roll on Spring.
