  1. Started the day with a team of Gos hawks that were visiting our shoot. Not being a shooter I thought this was a much better use for pheasants. They had flight after flight but only caught 1. I was amazed how the pheasants out paced the hawks, I didn't expect that. The hawks were getting wetter, we were getting wetter so at dinner time I decided a pint, ham, egg and chips was a better idea. Also got a dry pair of undies. Back to the neighbouring shoot and I joined them for 1 drive getting wet again. Fed the duck ponds, joined the big shoot for a pint and out flighting. What a nice e

  5. Always see lads going on about concrete soaking up piss and stinking.Do these same lads never walk their dogs or wash their kennels out.Mine very very rarely ever piss in their kennels or yard full stop for that matter as the know they get walked twice a day so hold it till they go out.But even if I have had a dirty one over the years a quick swill out twice a day and a disinfect twice a week and I never gotany smell. Also mKe sure your concrete is knocked up strong enough and got a good troweled finish on it.Also soakaways are ok if you have some way of putting some kind of trap with a removab

  6. I have the ridge line smock and it’s it’s a great bit of kit, however you can sweat like Jimmy Saville on a school bus in it. Great for the quad, great for sitting out in a hide or goose shooting that type of thing but too warm for walking in all but the coldest weather. Layers is the key for beating imho, a jumper and a shirt will normally suffice on all but the coldest days. Then a light-ish jacket that can be easily taken off and carried is the best bet. jmho

Me uncul tells me story's about rabbiting before mixy hit ,he was young lad and out most days nights feeding his siblings and mam ,big family of 9 needed lot of vitals so it fell on him to poach .he said he set long nets up and a drag line and push stuff into nets and take 30 /40 coney and kaneys that run instead of flying, me mother said it wasn't unusual to wake up and jump down from vardo to find dozens of coney and kaneys hanging ready to go butchers as he sold what they didn't eat and he done this for few Yr just after the war ,he's 90 something now and he great dog man back in his day ,h

  10. Me and a mate had planned a beach camp/fishing weekend but he cried off so I thought f**k it I’m going anyway. Grabbed the rifle, rod and pup and headed south to my adoptive county and home of another very good mate and his family. The mackerel were well and truly ‘in’. The water was fizzing with them and bait fish, the bait fish lining the shingle for miles! I had an evening and morning stalking too. A lot of rutting with grunts resonating through the downs. Took a sorrel (probably) that evening and then got on something a bit bigger in the morning. Nothin

  15. Well I’ve just come back from beating today and I was wearing a musto gamekeeper that cost 150 and has their BR2 lining. It pissed it down and I’m dry. Early days yet. Last season I had a Swazi. But one of my c**t face mongrels ate it a few weeks ago. Prefer the musto tbh.

  17. Early season, shirt, jumper, waistcoat That will be plenty. Lightweight waterproof pack away. If it’s driven pheasants probably the worst you will deal with is standing Maize. Dogs are for heavy cover ? Imho a decent beanie hat will keep you as warm as a coat

Have used a torch lately, easy to carry and conceal compared to a lamp and battery, but they make the torches too bright, even with a narrow beam they light the place up too much and the thing I don’t like the most is the led bulbs in them, you don’t get the ruby red eyes of a rabbit looking back at you and for that reason alone I’d say the lamp and batteries are better, atb

  19. Clive, just goes to show, when you go out of your way to help people on here, it often results in getting a slap in the face. Like kids in a sweet shop. There'll always be the odd spoilt brat, that no matter what he gets, he'll still have a puss on his face.

  20. I've already got my bumper sticker. There is Flags all over Dixie that says f**k Biden. As I live in the Bible belt that word is not allowed. To see polite Christian southerners flying flags that say that makes me smile.Biden is sending us into another great depression. You can't go to a restaurant because everybody quit to get free money from Biden.I worked 2 full time jobs for 10 years in my younger days as a 20 year old father so my wife could stay home with our babies. If you don't work you don't eat, man or beast(ablebody) I have no sympathy for these animals, white black or pink p

Thanks so much everyone I managed to get one collar working, the other one never worked and I had the batteries head first because when they arrived the batteries were head first and it worked head first when I first got it but then it stopped working like that and when I was putting it on the magnet nothing was happening so I switched the batteries around thanks to that picture that was sent and I had no idea about the magnet so thanks everyone who mentioned that I hope it keeps working and I’ll see how it gets on

  22. Brilliant post there squire....its the small details in relationship connections, the realistic thought processes that made it a great film for me just as a quick example the scene when they have to make a decision right there on the spot do they take the bank or not....Tom Sizemore i forget his name in it says " i,ll go with you Neil whatever you think ".....Neil says " not on this one, your mrs takes good care of you,you have money put away etc etc,be smart and walk away "......then with a few seconds thought Sizemore comes back with that classic line " for me the action is the juice....im in

  24. Yep.I dont have kennels as such anymore as I only have the 2 bandogs and my girls dachshund that live on a 18x10 cocrete yard at the back of the house thats fenced separately from the rest of the garden.I probably only wash down and disinfect once a week the rest of the time I just tip there water buckets out daily. No smell of piss but then I honestly cant remember the last time I had to pick a shit up or wash a piss stain away because I walk them as soon as I get up and they know theyll be out again as soon as I get back from work.

  27. Did the whisky tour at penderyn , was quite interesting, it was a warm up for a stag do but half of them went straight to Cardiff and were sozzled by the time we got there lol. Penderyn were using mash from brains beer I believe, only thing that put me off the brand was they were buying gin etc from Birmingham and sticking the Welsh brand on it. Interesting fact, each year a barrel loses alcohol , known as 'angels share' and they get a tax rebate for it lol.

That’s the plan, I’m thinking I might push them through the rape and over the trees and stand the guns on the track the other side of the trees ( that’s where the gutter is we walked past that looks like it should be full of roe ) I’m getting a few of their partridge along my oak wood drive as well, which will be something a bit different as we’ve never put partridge down its a shame he is the way he is, the keepers that have been there before have always been spot on and we would help each other out and never do anything like this, but if you are seen dogging birds off my fields, if I ca

  36. Up feeding this afternoon and autumn is fully here even though it’s about 20 degrees, the birds are starting to tail up, some a lot quicker than others. I’ve got birds throughout the shoot now and at the minute they are doing what I want them to, by moving around in groups and not all just walking off together. Speaking to the old girl it seems next doors keeper is being his usual dickhead self, by bashing his gums at the old girls daughter, so that’s it fu*k him, I’m going to carry on feeding his birds onto my land and then I’m going to let the members shoot them all ? I was telling the shoot

  37. I'm going to disagree a bit with a few of you that the main barrier is money. We in the northwest have 2 large markets nearby, Bury and Bolton. If you go down there on a Saturday afternoon you can fill bags full for £25. Yes I agree that a free range organic chicken is beyond the reach of alot of families, but we don't need to go over the top with organic stuff to begin eating well. Go to any big market and its full of Africans and Asians....why? Because they aren't afraid of real food. If we gave a hundred young families a raw un cooked chicken I bet at least half couldn't roast it. How

  41. You didn't buy anything off me. You bought two traps from my BIL four years after you had been slagging off Putanges on here and filling my youtube page with your negative ramblings. Then you claimed that the traps you had bought were faulty, but refused to return them. You wanted to keep the faulty traps and get a full refund. You threatened my BIL and left him negative feedback. They are the facts and there are emails to prove it, so why should we believe anything that you say?

Here’s mine mate all insulated but it’s shed and kennels and I put a concrete base in with drains,I went for the barrow service and it’s 18ft by 10ft 6inch deep on pin kerbs. It was all done in an hour with them barrow it in me and a mate levelled it.cost me just over £2000 as I built it myself but the dearest bit was the concrete and the roofing sheets.Plus I had enough boards and I’m extending it 16ft
