I take my hat off the this guy.., 119 days to row solo across the Atlantic. The final push to make landfall was a 40 hour slog which in itself would have broken most men. Lad I worked with (also an ex-RM) was regularly posting about his progress. It looked every bit as gruelling as you’d expect. The mental strength and determination of this guy must be off the scale. Well done, just well done ? Former marine completes unsupported Atlantic row WWW.BBC.CO.UK Dave 'Dinger' Bell arrives on land in Cornwall after leaving New York 119 days...8 points

I’m a massive “ Partridge “ fan . But then Coogan went and spoiled it by getting all political during Brexit and implying that pro Brexit people were thick. Couldn’t care less about what he does now .8 points

Woke up at 5am this morning to the sound of rain bouncing off the roof and felt like a kid at Christmas. Missus thinks I'm mental, but I could hardly contain me happiness at seeing it's supposedly thrashing it down all week. Hope you all find the chance to get out and find some fun! ... and to think I took this photo yesterday, sat, practically praying for the rain, haha.7 points

Its curious, that for a man who has spent a lot of time around farms and holdings, that I have been entirely ignorant about an important aspect of livestock husbandry...? The recent lockdown and a plethora of 'time on my hands' has allowed me to tune into many subjects, that I have never bothered with before... I would not say that I am truly addicted , or even mildly obsessional,.but for some crazy reason, I really enjoy watching this guy at work...? https://www.youtube.com/c/TheHoofGP Stay safe now lads,..all the best, OldPhil?7 points

1. Remove all unskilled foreigners 2. Force our own lazy b*****d natives to fill the labour void caused by point 1 These 2 steps would reduce benefits which is good, which in turn would bring more tax in. It would bring massive relief to the nhs, education and the road network. I know it’s easier said than done but somethings gotta give sooner or later6 points

I have joined in and I don’t need a Britain hating left wing traitor to give me permission, you only come out when you think you have a silly little political point to score against the government or the democratic decision taken by the majority of Britain’s to leave the corrupt eu so thanks for the advise but as long as I’m breathing you will be the last person I would want a serious discussion with so f**k off like a good chap ?6 points

I didn't vote in the referendum based on supply chains or labour shortage, If this is the price to pay to get out of Brussels grasp then it's small change, I dare say things will get worse but let's face it remainers forecast the end of the world just holding a referendum, still don't respect the will of the people and democracy, buckle up I'm confident we can pull through, there's nothing to say it's not politically driven as said I think fuel companies should be penalised for lack of investment.6 points

When hunting squirrels in woodland, I school the dogs to 'go round' and stand opposite to me... The Greys frequently try to hide behind the trunk of the tree, and they will often keep moving around, as you move...? The dogs looking up at them,..fool them, and then the bushy tails generally offer a nice easy target..? As for gundog based lurchers,.. I used to have some grand old times walking out with Thistle... She was a Whippet /Grey x Labrador and I saw her catch all manner of critters? Her retrieving was, as expected,..totally on point,..and she was a joy to hunt al5 points

All depends your area you work and style some places Bayer's wouldn't be up for the job and therefore the harder type would be needed but would need more recovery time so a hard question to pinpoint and vise versa an exact number or even a near number it's too diverse. Just say a guy has 10 terriers working terriers well fair play to him but how good are they and if only another guy has two Bayer's how good are they also? it's different for every terrierman . I know what your trying to get at basically the big dick Jim says my dog got 40 digs this season well my advise is to let him wobble his5 points

Year 2000 under tony the war criminal Blair pre brexit pre covid ??????? shoppers also flocked to stock up on essential goods, leading to empty shelves and heaping further pressure on the stretched supply chains. Ambulance services were also forced to cancel all non-emergency journeys to and from hospitals to save fuel. The Royal Mail also warned that they did not have enough fuel to keep their delivery trucks going, while more than 70 schools closed and even rubbish collections were hit.5 points

Yeah, the UK is in a bit of a mess at the moment, and the Tories are not handling it well, (though I'll allways thank Boris for fulfilling one promise, to "get Brexit done"). But the UK is positively a Shangrila, a Utopia, compared to the dystopian hell it would be if we had a terrorist supporting , west hating old fool, Corbyn, as Prime Minister, an avowed communist, who openly states he wants to destroy the capitalist system, McDonald, as Chancellor of the Exchequer, a woman so stupid she can't put her shoes on the right foot, Abbot, as Home Secretary.......all taking orders from an une5 points

If Brexit is to blame, how does that explain that Germany, Poland and other EU countries have a worse HGV driver shortage than the U.K. ? Countries such as China and Australia are also suffering a shortage of HGV drivers. China cannot get goods to the docks so ships are sitting idle or leaving port half empty. Of course the Remoaners will blame Brexit, it give them something to hold onto, an excuse to say "i told you so", but if Brexit has any part in this, it's minor compared to drivers being hit by Covid, wether actually getting it or being forced into isolation through being "ping5 points

If that’s true of the whole country then there’s gonna be a massive drop this week. As all those folks, who only normally need a tenner to get them through the week but filled the tank for the first time in their lives, won’t need any for two months!5 points

I got a phone call this afternoon from the farmer at the sheep farm asking if I’d go and sort the rabbits out on the small farm next door ( chicken johns) I thought I really can’t be arsed to go up to shoot half a dozen rabbits but as I’m the only person allowed to shoot up here and I don’t want anyone else on here I thought I’d better go, so getting 2 of the most hated bit of shooting kit out, the HMR and the NiteSite ( HMR because I can shoot right across the field with it and it’s very accurate and the NiteSite because it works really well for rabbit shooting, just mount it on the trigger s5 points

Did anyone believe Brexit was it ?…..just cast your vote and that’s it done ? There is 75 years of poison to mend, Brexit was simply the first tiny stepping stone.4 points

I’m not the biggest lover of turkey so doesn’t bother me. Much rather venison goose or duck. But if I wanted a turkey I would order one from a local farm ??4 points

Let's face it I can't really think of a mainstream media outlet that supported Brexit, and the majority as stated by a psychologist on radio 4 have only added fuel to the fire of panic buying etc. If they wanted to help the country they'd have shown boring scenes of people filling up their cars and reported on the fact that there's no fuel shortage but a supply chain issue, so every bugger saw mile long queues and punch ups because the media love the dramatic story, self for filling prophecy, or not filling as the case may be...4 points

Redirect the energy, using a lure, rabbit skin on a bit of string, to give the youngster something legitimate to go for, and don't let them off the lead at the same time. Half the trick of good training is not to let a dog get into the habit of doing something you don't want it to do. Once it's got into a habit, far harder to get them out of it. There's no point shouting or telling the youngster off, and if you do they just grow to see you as a spoiler of fun. It will grow up eventually, but it is up to you to protect the older dog, and keep the youngster engaged with fun games.3 points

Diaz had no business in the cage,at least Lawler looked in shape, looked game Diaz looked a shell of himself, and it was obvious from the opener he would rather be elsewhere First time in a while ive seen the UFC entertain anything stupid like that, they're usually spot on with their fights & matchmaking3 points

I’ve also got a bed/whippet x collie/grey/whip.....small skinny looks the part.....she’s a lovely bitch but not a patch on my other and the amount of skin tears just from catching herself on old branches is scary. If you enjoy a daytime mooch and appreciate watching a dog happily working for fun then I’d say go for it. Id love another in maybe five years. I know it will be hard to find one though. I loved my whippet, he was small and hard, I’m not so keen on these taller types I see a lot of today. He was a bloody good worker. However my spaniel lurcher gives me much more in a similar sized3 points

You will see ample pictures of lurchers on here handling feather. I guess you just have to be extra careful on the gun fire side of things and the introduction. My next dog I thinking gundog but I just like having a lurcher so I will be planning the same as you This muppet is fine with gunfire but a plum. One thing he is good at is at a dusk duck flight telling me when a duck is incoming or finding them once shot. Doesn't retrieve though so his usefulness ends there I had him the duck hide last season at dusk and I dropped first duck and we sat back down. N3 points
