i love watching the vids of them working in spain....and would love to go out with some lads in person in spain to watch them...from what i see on vids they look quite bidable as well.....always seem controllable around a hole ....and retrieve lovely even with other dogs around..... i think the thing most lurcher lads assume is because they have been lumped in to the sighthound group ...because for the most part they resemble a sight hound with the skinny frames and deep chest.....to me they are more of a scent hound....admittedly they are pretty quick but i dowt they could out run most f6 points

The skill shortage is only going to get worse and needs to be sorted at secondary education level. Its pretty clear what children are not academically minded from a early age so start looking at the individuals and channel their interest in a skill set. Bring back brick laying, plastering, mechanical engineering, welding, sewing etc, there is no point persisting with algebra with little Johnny if he struggles or shows no interest, all it does is chips away at a childs confidence and self ability. Of course It will never happen, the teachers and the current curriculum is more interested in6 points

Got my first batch of birds today . So far so good . I think we are due a window of decent weather. They have started to cut a bit of hay and what looks like a field of wheat that is absolutely choked with black tail grass. So I’m out tonight . I’ve already OpenGL account with an unusual looking/ greyish dog fox , at a ridiculous distance, I wish I’d Mapulatored it . But I would say it’s about 250 meters which is my personal best with the night vision. But I spent so long looking for it in the long grass I forgot to measure it accurately ? Anyway here is a picture, with maybe more to follow…..4 points

When father died mother sold his Volvo 244 to a local milkman (1979), that car was last year to be still running on nearly 400K. Depends how they've been driven/serviced/repaired. We've just put 160k miles on a Peugeot Partner van, 32 months, it's fooked. Cheers, D.3 points

That was me, school was a disaster, should have been removed by age 12 and taught a trade as it was clear I had no interest in mainstream education and just went right off the rails, I also detracted from other people’s education by disrupting everything at every opportunity, very capable with my hands but the nogging was wired a bit differently ??3 points

So I bred the mother to this pup back to her grandfather my old dog. I tried natural breeding each season for 2 years straight with no pups. So I got bitch tested in season and her fertile day to be bred was day 7 my old dog was 12 so got he's sperm tested still had 85% live sperm done the artificial insemination and then bitch needed C section sat with her for 4 hours after section she was letting pups feed and cleaned them went to grab a tea after 4 hours and came back to bitch eating blue dog pup and had already eaten the black and white bitch. Just the brindle dog left. Bottle fed him ever2 points

The youngest dog which I got off Gnipper is nicknamed bellend, because she is a complete roller pigeon eating, wall destroying, shadow chasing bellend. But fck is she good at catching rats in houses. I know it doesn't sound much but as a pest controller that one little small rat can be a wage and a reputation. Got a call from an agent about a rat in a house. Others had tried and failed with traps and the tenant was refusing to enter the property. The minute this dog enters a house she switches on, she knows and soon I know if it's there or if it's been and gone. She sets to and che2 points

Tut tut ? I'd expect you to be clearing five or six a night in preparation for the upcoming season, why as a young wipper snapper I would take them in my stride whilst carrying the dog. ?2 points

I personally wouldn’t charge £25 but that’s not at all unreasonable, christ have a look online some people charging £80 for a kit. As cantona says above when you consider the work a ferret can give you £25 is nothing really. The days of £5 for a ferret and £100 for lurcher are over.2 points

Always had ferrets gifted........or slipped the breeder a few quid for the kids...............maybe times have changed2 points
