  1. Nice morning so decided to do a few hours digging this morning for my mate while he was sandeeling. I dug for 2 hours ( hour either side of low) and comfortably managed 6.5lb and spent the morning in beautiful surroundings. As you can see a nice straight line is the key

  3. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is anything new lads have been having doors put through purely on the basis of vans parked by fields for a while now . we were never at the races . it’s easier to stick a conviction against a lad with a few gbh lifts , a rav 4 and something out of buddy in the back than it is to go after the Beaufort hunt. it was always so. It was always going to happen but even so when the Cla , the countryside alliance , the rspca , defra and the kennel club are all banding with the rural crimes unit and gallelio it’s a kick in the stones.

  9. Right, that’s the pens finished, 8 posts replaced and a bit of wire put back up, it seems the fallow had decided to use the back of the forestry pen as a short cut, trampling the wire and pulling it into the bracken. Now it’s IBC’s filled and feeders repaired and put out, I still have a good few birds kicking about mainly along the edge of a field of rape ( I say rape, the whole crop is full of Poppy’s, I’m not sure what’s going on there )a good way from the pen’s, so that’s a good thing, there was a hen with 4 poults around the farm, speaking to the landlady she said it had 7 to start with an

When alls said and done tho you are best off just getting out and enjoying yaself with pals rather than trying to prove stuff to folk who in grand scheme of things dont really matter

  20. There is an issue about crucians at the moment. Many are hybrids, crossed with other species of small carp. If you contact the EA fisheries department they might be able to advise as some people are looking to preserve the true crucians and could be interested in stocking a lake with no other species of carp jn it. Tench would also suit that sort of water.

  28. Dog and a bitch each. Sire was killed before the litter dropped, and the dam was retired last season after a smash, so chances of a repeat mating are ...... well it ain’t gonna happen ? Both lads do enough lamping, daytime and digging, to warrant two.

  34. I seem to have got lucky with pups ages. Generally pups come in the summer so are a decent age at the start of their first season. The one I’m starting this season will be about 14/15 months come September and the young one above will be about 16 months next September, perfect ages to start on bigger stuff. Sure a lot of folk will have them working younger and mine usually mug a few bits before but it’s nice to start lamping with them and be able to slip on anything you see.

After they dispersed l found a casualty in the garden but the others seemed to survive. But....just when l thought l had my shed back , today l realised the parents have decided to go for another brood!

  37. No.... I meant it’s a time for us to rear pups and them to rear Cubs. There are few nicer sights than the young of any species enjoying the sun and messing about.

  39. It’s not just the women they have to be diverse. They have to have black pundits as well. I’ve always thought Ian Wright was good and never thought he was there just because he was black , he made interesting and valid observations and was there because he was funny and clever and good at his job . So why Ashley Cole ? The guy can barely string a sentence together.

  41. Background story behind that surreal moment, I knew one of the fat men, one was to me a legend when it came to terriers at the time and the other owned the bitch that he wanted lined and the 1st choice dog wasn't interested in doing the business. The reason for the 3 wheeler is that they had all lost their driving licence but one had a motorbike licence and so was allowed to drive a 3 wheeler and that is what were using as transport at the time.
